Hewick is just a true star, if only the race was a few strides more he would have cracked it. However congratulations to all connections for going so close, you must all be so proud of your little star, he is just so lovely ❤
A wonderful run by Hewick after a long season
The French Champion hurdle and the stands nearly empty. The French public haven't taken to racing. 25 years ago I worked in Paris. The only time I knew Longchamp full was when the Brits invaded for the 'Arc.
Concerning horse racing in France, it must be understood that the diversity is greater than in the United Kingdom.
Every day, there are more racecourses in activity than in England because in France it is the flat races + jumpers' races and especially the trotting races in France which is probably the biggest trotting industry in the world and it is more popular as galloping there.
There are 250 racecourses in France...that's more than half of the racecourses on the European continent...

@musicmike1972 I laid Allaho that day because he tipped it and I dutched Shishkin and Hewick so I won a decent wedge.

He should have brought hewick to the near side to challenge, and he would have won, leaving him all alone on the rail and then seeing hewick pick up towards the line when the winner came into view was gutting. That's my opinion
