6:00 it's called "laser edged" the plastic was fully opaque and laser removed some material to make a letter shape.
Wonderful, thanks for the added info.
That’s cool
While I would never try flying JUST with a keyboard (I can only imagine trying to flare on landing or recovering from a stall/spin!), I do find the Editors Keys keyboard a good addition paired with other controllers (V1F yoke and Flightstick in my case). I leave the basic flight controls on the peripheral(s) and use the keyboard for AP, NAV and adjusting the bugs inputs. Takes a bit to get used to "color key" and assignment key but comes on pretty quick with more use. Mark at Editors Keys IS an actual MSFS user so I think his experience played into the overall quality of the board. Pretty much plug and play, so he obviously spent some time with the default settings in FS to make sure the keyboard matched up. An absolute need? Probably not, but, that said, it IS a useful addition to FS. (I'm on a Series X, so YMMV on a PC where you already have a keyboard in place).
Fantastic feedback. Like I said in the video: if you enjoy using the keyboard in the Sim, then this will be very enticing.
Hats off to Mark for bringing something different to the table.
Do u think this would be a good/disciplined way to learn what all those named button functions do? I use VR with a velocity one set up and the experience is so good that it has made me lazy in learning as i just enjoy flying around and haven't learnt what setting everything up properly is about eg. ils. I guess veteran flight simmers would have learned by keyboard and from what i see it has worked for them?
It does refresh your memory somewhat of what the various keyboard functions are & do.
I typically rarely use my keyboard in my own flights - besides from using Slew mode when I crash in Livestreams 😂
Hi, Does the throttle quadrant work well with this. I read a review that said to buy the USB version of the quadrant separate because the ordinary connection one has issues
If on PC, you can use various Throttle quadrants with a keyboard.
Does the keyboard automatically bind the to msfs
With the default key bindings in Controls Options yes,
This would be a superb idea if they combined it with the Elgato Stream Deck concept, where each key is its own miniature screen and the peripheral allows you to create individual profiles and have every key display an image of your choosing.
That would allow it to be both backlit and completely customisable for every single application. No need to force it to only display shortcuts for just Photoshop, video editing, MSFS, etcetera. You could just switch profiles and it would instantly display the new shortcuts. Plus, maybe you don't have the same shortcuts as they display? Elgato's system would take account of that. It would allow for things like DCS to become far more intuitive. You could have every single key instantly display a completely different message or symbolic image, depending on whether you hold down shift/control/alt, too. It would have unlimited possibilities. You could craft your own images and such, just like Elgato allows for. Even tell the software to display different coloured backgrounds or adopt different patterns of shifting between colours. Maybe have your newest keystrokes have a momentary different coloured background or create a flashing effect, which lasts for a duration of your choosing, before it fades away.
Would be more expensive, but I suspect something like that would become the go-to product for pretty much everything.
EDIT: Someone's made it! 'Flux Keyboard'. Just for pre-order, but looks like a revolution in interface devices!
Are the keys too flush? Looks to small of key height for my simming. I use an old style full keyboard full height keys.
They seem as good as any other keyboard I've used.
It's not enough for the price. The keyboard I'm typing from is RedDragon Karura2, it's also flat key caps, but it's RGB. It cost me ~20-30 USD. My advice is to get a base keyboard with mechanical switches (not rubber membranes) on buget, if you look for flat laptop like keys, then you can look at keyboards with "Outemu Low Profile Switches". You can swap the caps on the mechanical keyboards, buy translucent caps, buy printed shortcuts letters for MFS and stick them. You will match the price of the "Editors Keys" , but you will get a real mechanical keyboard you can fix if key break or customize for every game you like, also possible individual RGB for each key.
Just what I did. Illuminated 60% mechanical keyboard (£20); opaque keycap set (£14); black on clear label tape (£6). Luckily I have access to a Brother label printer.
A completely custom illuminated keyboard for £40, all in.
@@errolrpartridge And it sounds like a bargain, good build mate.
As I suffer with alsimers . I know that is not spelled right. As I’m getting back into MSF. I have fining what Aircraft I have. Would the keyboard help me. Thanks 😊
Sorry to hear that Derek; this keyboard might be of help to you.
Plus were to buy it😊. Thanks

Great idea but not being wireless is a deal killer, especially at that price.
Wireless would've been the icing on the cake.
Nice set-up but me argos keyboard and mouse works just as good mapped my own
Looks cool but expensive matey😎
Cheers Mate 😎
Very cool, great looking but definitely to much for my liking.
It's a shame it's not half the price.
@@Huddison if it was around $50-$60 Canadian I would grab one right away.
Now land at Courchevel with the keyboard !
lol, I may just try that 😄
nice keyboard! bit expensive tho
Yes, it's currently out of a lot of folks price range atm.
For the price, it would have been nice if it was wireless also.
Good point.
ohhhh another nice toy too bad me house insurance takes center stage at the moment.
Good priorities there Mike ;)
Pretty expensive when I can do the same with one sticker sheet and a pen with a thin tip on a 15 euro wireless keyboard. No, it doesn’t light up. So what?
I can go visit the Arcades in Blackpool, pretending that I'm high-rolling in the Las Vegas Casinos; still, I get your point.
@@Huddison Had to look that up, not that familiar with Blackpool. Not with Vegas either, tbh. 😉 Safe flights!
Simply put too much money.
First predicted comment 😁
@@Huddison so I get the new car?
