- G'day and welcome back, Today my mate Michael and myself headed down to Sirius Cove in Mosman to paint where Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and other fellow Australian artists camped and painted in the late 1880's.
I softened the sand edges in this one in the studio as it needed refining. Overall I was happy with the result.

G'day JapanJimmy, Yeah it was an awesome place to go and paint at. Yeah I think I nailed the tones in the trees but had to do a little bit more with the foreground sand. Thanks so much mate. Have a great week 🎨🎨👍

I really like this one. Love the colors, the boats on the water in the distance, the shade and greenery on the left, and also the sand! Great painting 😄🥰 Boy, what I wouldn’t give to have your choices of scenery to choose from. I’m not far from water, but still not as impressive as yours. Australia and New Zealand have so many amazing artists! Maybe it’s the beauty and ruggedness of the area they live in. “Happy Painting to you”. 😊😊😊
Thanks so much Sandra, Yeah we have a great choice of beautiful beaches and coastline here and a lot of it is untouched so I'm very fortunate to be able to go there and paint. Yeah I was happy with the result of this painting. I probably could have done a little bit more with the left corner in the foreground as I rushed it a little bit but overall it turned out good. Once again, thank you very much Sandra and happy painting this week 🎨🎨👍

I loved it! You nailed it and looks great. Wonderful place to plein air and nice to have company as well. Here it is pretty cold now, I only sketch for about 10 - 15 min outside :) Enjoy it!

G'day Nancy, Thanks so much and much appreciated. Yeah this spot is a beauty and right in the heart of Sydney too. Yeah and I want to go back to this place again one day. Yeah for the sand I just used titanium white, yellow ochre and a touch of burnt sienna for this one. Yeah I find if you are passionate about a subject the painting always turns out good. Great painting Tez, I think it worked well, the colours are on point and the texture is very helpful to the composition.
Are we to assume that you will be following in the footsteps of Streeton, Roberts and co. That would be wonderful. Two now and both on song.

Pretty good Tez apart from the bottom left area which looks unfinished.
That horizon bang in the middle is usually a no no but on this occasion looks kinda OK..

Tez! Please tell me you took pictures of those sailboats for me!!!! Oh man that’s totally what I would be painting! Lovely video and wonderful painting both of you guys. It’s so relaxing there in that little cove. I kind of zoned out watching the water in the background! 😂
Do you use a medium besides turps?
