On the Asian market, that car is called a “Vios”. And btw, Toyota made new generations of that. It just wasn’t offered to the American market. My guess is because it will eat into the market share of the Corolla. The newer Vios is so well equipped and not that smaller than the Corolla, way cheaper, so that’s why it’s one of the best selling cars in Asia.

I'm a bit surprised it didn't cause transmission, bearing and brake warpage problems. Often does with the brake engaged. The full sized Cadillacs have rear disk brakes and water loves to get into where the mech brake goes into the brake. 120K miles or so if you set the brake and it can stick. It doesn't take long before the rim is very hot. It'll boil water. Do that long enough and it'll fry the transmission.

I am currently suffering from melted wiring for the complete engine wiring harness and ECM harness. The system got flooded with 90 volts, or so, when the voltage regulator in the ECM failed. I removed the entire engine wiring harness, ECM harness, and the ECM itself. I am now looking for an affordable ECM, engine wiring, and ECM harness. This vehicle had never let me down until this situation. But I have had it 25 years. It was due for a big problem and it happened.
