Great video as always. The custom race rules are definitely the most slept on new feature in the game. For example you can make the power boost be triggered by a certain button like DRS or nitrous. Hope to see more content with the custom races.
EXACTLY! Or get a boost when smashing a (or a certain amount) of breakable objects. Limitless possibilities for really cool races. Already working on some fun online stuff :)

I did a bit of experimenting with it already and you can have it set to increase or decrease torque at certain checkpoints for basically a DIY DRS system. You can have any car that’s monstrously powerful for the straights and can be reined in for the corners.
Haven’t experimented with the checkpoint-option yet, will give it a shot
@@TheRacingMonkey the start/finish line counts as checkpoint 0. You can also make it so only the car that activates the rule gets the torque change. I recommend keeping a record of which checkpoints you want to have high power and which you want low power because it’s impossible to keep them straight if you get to the double digits.

This feature is what they did for the “Parade Float” race. It boosted the power of the Parade Float to 2000HP when it said to “Hurry” in the story.
2:40 Horsepower and torque are always tied together from my understanding. Torque is the force with which the engine can turn the crankshaft, horsepower is how quickly it can do that, which is how quickly it can turn over/the rpm. It is impossible to increase or decrease one without increasing or decreasing the other.
Hp is related to the torque that the engine produces and the rpm of your car
i.e: if u make more torque overall but have the same max rpm then u're gonna have more hp thus resulting much more acceleration than that guy
If u have the same torque overall but he revvs more than u (u have 8000rpm he's got 9000rpm) then he 's gonna have much more hp than u thus more acceleration (hypothetically without adding wind resistance weight...etc to the equation)

I remember discovering this about 10 days ago. It's pretty fun.
By the way, if you use continuous (per player), you don't have to specify which player. That way it will work in multiplayer races. And you don't need the "event in progress" condition. As long as the trigger is continuous, it will be constant.

Horsepower is calculated with Torque x How often it is applied, so if you increase the torque you also increase horsepower. The how many times it is applied is the RPM of your engine, thats why power also changes when accelerating.
I love the fact that he just randomly saw a BEAUTIFUL Ferrari F8 Tributo in the middle of recording this 😂

Welp I guess now we know how the AIs in this game are so hilariously hard to beat, especially the AI in postion 1. I sometimes find it hard to beat them in unbeatable difficulty. Could this be the reason? This also kinda reminds me of the forza 7 AI rubberbanding video from a couple years ago where the AI suddenly gets some sort of boost in power and start pulling away like nothing. Then in the last few laps it will start to slow down pretend like nothing happen lmao.

Thank you for your channel. I’m 49 and have been playing for 2 weeks a couple of hours a night and am looking for some cool stuff to do. I made it into the hall of fame in13 days and didn’t even know what I was doing. I have a lot to learn but you are going to be my Forza 5 almanac. Also I don’t know how you kids can play from that view. I always play from bonnet view because I feel like I know what the car is doing and I have a good view but when I’m behind the car I find I feel disconnected from the car. I have been mostly rally driving games since Colin McRaes Rally on the PS1 and I used a wheel then and got used to the bonnet view. I do have a brain injury that I got 10 years back and maybe it’s just that my brain remembers that. Anyway thanks heaps for your channel.

Instead of an acceleration and Top Speed video you should do a braking test video because I realized that the AMG one is insane at breaking
If the Scale Engine Torque by a "Number" only allows from 0 to 2, with 2 seeming to be a 1.5x to torque, then wouldn't doing a Variable instead allow for the value to skyrocket, like a function of the current gear or some other thing?

Most overlooked feature in FH5, in my opinion. Great fun and interesting to mess around with :)
PRo tip, the Lexus RC-F has a HP scale that goes to 4000, not sure why, but it seems interesting
also check the unimog. I remember there were some crazy swaps for that
Power is Torque times RPM, so logically scaling torque will also scale power :)
in real life torque and hp are linked, hence they are in forza. the forumula is HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252. which is what a dyno does when a car runs on it, it measures the torque and calculates the hp

Horsepower isint just scaled on torque in the game, it is in reality also. Horsepower = torque * rpm / 5252. If you look at all dyno charts you will see that the horsepower and torque lines on the graph will always cross at 5252 rpm as a result of this calculation.

@@miweneia I would do that however the creator of the channel asked me previously to put ; instead of : because it means the watchtime is retained rather than dropping. As for the facts well they are in separate frames so I write them as separate comments and have done for about 3+ years.

My friend somehow got 556km/h at the drag strip at the main horizon festival. He thought it was cool when he did it but now he has no idea how to replicate it when he saw his speed (he was a noob and didn’t know that was super fast). His all time top speed is less than that too, so it was bugged. Also he is on xbox
