The fact that PETA does more for fictional videogame animals than for real world animals should tell you a lot.
Love how they try to claim people don't eat pokemon, and that pokemon wouldn't love people for eating animals. The anime has shown us otherwise with people eating meat, and even that one episode of Magikarp evolving into Garadoes because team rocket tried to eat it lol.

For anyone wondering about if it's bad for to cows get milked it's actually better to milk them bc a cow on average makes more milk than necessary and it staying in her van lead to a fatal infection.

(I don't agree with peta in the slightest of course), but the reason people don't like cows getting milked is because of how badly they get abused on often. A lotta the time they take too much milk, give them poor living conditions etc.

Cows only make too much milk because we as a species bred them to make more than they need to feed their babies.
Yeah, instead of trying to get people to completely abandon things like cheese and dairy how about they try to get more humane conditions for the animals, because like you said milking them is actually good for them not to mention that it's an easier goal to achieve
Same goes for shearing sheep! They can actually die if you don't give them a wool cut once in a while. There's actual videos of rescued sheep that are miserable because their owners never sheared them(some who actively avoided it because of the misconception), and feel much better once they get a trim. Animal neglect is animal abuse too!

But Conner did say "tanuki aren't real", and then, when PETA had a little popup about protecting raccoon dogs, something like how we're not talking about that. PETA's problem, in the case of those particular Mario games, is that because there **are** real tanuki, they decided that Mario's costume **was** somehow about actual raccoon dogs.

unfortunately, I did research, and PETA DOES in fact kill animals. They euthanize a lot of the animals left at their shelters. The preach animal rights, but its only for show. NEVER trust PETA.

And raccoon dogs don't stand on their hind legs and give you a tent that upgrades into a house. They also don't have adopted raccoon dogs that run a family store.

I still remember when we had to learn about Peta in small animal care and, make our own choices if they were good, bad or insane. Everyone in the class either thought they were the last 2, no one, not even the vegans and vegetarians, sided with them.

As of the newest pokemon games, Scarlet and Violet, it is confirmed that in that world, people do indeed eat pokemon. Also, it's been evident since Gen 1 that pokemon also eat other pokemon. So suck on that, Peta.

what confuses me about the "vegan lasagna" is that pasta already is vegan, i get replacing meat sauce and cheese but pasta is already vegan, why replace it with strips of zucchini...vegan doesn't mean you only have to eat vegetables, you can still live a little lmao

I do like how there's a few things that still unify us in our divided times. One of them being disdain for PETA.
The some screams can't be heard thing actually wasn't all bad- fish are very capable of feeling pain just like us, leaving them struggling on a table and not killing them immediately is severely cruel. If intelligence had to matter for why things should be treated well, half the human population would be put into the same situations if we're being honest. The entire southern US could easily being the first place winner for stupid. However their execution of the commercial still sucked.. like the execution of everything else they do so meh, idk. actually Tanuki ARE real that is the Japanese name for the Racoon Dog. Nekos are real too and so are Kitsune. Its like saying "Ourse" isn't real its like saying Wolves aren't real.
I hate that they're called racoon dogs in English. Tanuki is a much better name for them. Racoon dog sounds like a four-year-old named them lol. But yeah, neko is just Japanese for cat and kitsune is Japanese for fox.

@21;45 the usda thing is misleading the animals are stunned and rendered incapable of feeling pain before any cuts are made. the scalding bath is used to help remove feathers if the establishment fails to render properly the business can be shut down and if repeat offender business licensee removed. any bird that dies in the water is condemned and not allowed to enter the human food supply and only happens is there is a blade issue. Once stunned, which by usda regulations must be done one attempt every time, must be bleed out before regaining consciousness.

Peta more or less tends to be my go-to example on why I can't stand people who take causes with good intentions and exploit them for their own personal gains. At this point saying Peta does more harm than good, is like saying the sky is blue. But I think it's one of those blatantly obvious statements that bears repeating. Look, I'm not gonna deny that animal cruelty is a serious issue worth speaking up about, or that the meat and dairy industry(At least in America IDK about the rest of the world) has some serious problems about how they treat livestock. But Peta's methods of tackling these issues isn't helping.(In fact how they try to convey their messages borders on outright distasteful at times.) Seriously, they're not making enviromentalism more aproachable, they're only giving enviromentalism and veganism a bad name. In fact, most vegans can't stand Peta! If you want to help animals, don't support these clowns! There are plently of other orginizations you can contribute to like the ASPCA or the Humane society!

I think the fish ad was meant to convey that fish can't scream when they're in pain (Even other animals can in many cases), though in terms of other things, this ad is pretty messed up
Because even though I don't like PETA, because their help to "Animals" is pretty fucked up (Hello, putting dogs to sleep, because they didn't want them to be "Adopted" because they considered it slavery), they had a pretty interesting idea for advertising, although they could it's better to pass it on, because yes, fish feel pain, and without water they suffocate, so it's fun, and as I mentioned, fish are unlikely to make noises in the same way as many other creatures
And this ad with the runway reminds me of a comic book in an alternative reality, so who knows, maybe they were inspired by it
