Looking forward to more content! I'm realizing after years of undiagnosed ADHD &, under employment I realize that I very likely will need to start my own business in order to meet financial goals as well as be engaged and fulfilled. Thank you for your work!
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear that you find the content helpful. Starting your own business can be a great option for individuals with ADHD, as it can provide flexibility, autonomy, and opportunities for creative problem-solving. Best of luck to you on your entrepreneurial journey!
Lots of what you said rang true to me, even how I do my job now, which is for an employer. I sell hearing aids, and my ethics plays a huge role in how I sell, as well as being concerned with what my clients can afford or can't afford. I literally cannot sell in a sleazy way, it just goes against my core being haha
Yes, completely accurate. Especially the confidence bit. I have no interest in faking confidence. If I'm confident, you better believe I know what I'm doing. And yes, I need to like my work. I envy people who can just seize any business opportunity, regardless of what it is. I'm VERY picky.
In my current sales job I prefer to focus on the one technology of security that I enjoy and feel comfortable/confident in doing. I also enjoy site walks, new places and people. I don’t like selling things I don’t understand or things that are boring or there’s no template to start the sales process. I also don’t like having 40 manufacturers to choose from. So even when learning six, I still must be at the advanced level despite that manufacturer having a kazillion products. I rather work as a video surveillance manufacturer rep than a security integrator. I especially hate selling fire alarms and dealing with the AHJ aka Fire Marshals as every county has different laws and therefore I can’t get a quote back to a client in a timely manner.
Hey @@navigatingsideways, in my last role I had to learn about hundreds of different software products. Great learning experience, but yeah, could never really feel authentically competent (and anyone else who appeared to was faking it). Funny that this post came up 11 months later, as I'm in the process of seizing a business opportunity I identified in the past week (and I'm still picky). Glad you found a role you like! I don't need to tell you that the video surveillance space can change quickly. Hope you find the time to keep an eye on other manufacturers and software, so that you're well positioned to seize your next opportunity when it pops up. Cheers!
I just found your content..this is me!! I hate my job. 10 hours a day... I am getting more and more depressed. I feel trapped... I just got promoted to Social Media marketing and sales. I was excited... Now I want to quit before even starting.. I don't think I am able to execute my ideas and stick with it. I was a welder and I struggled with it for years ...not knowing I had ADHD... I have tried so many jobs and I get bored. People always think that I am very good at what ever I do... Only because I push myself through it. They have no idea the struggle I go through to get to that level. Im passionate about lots ... And then I am not 😢😮 Everyone thinks I have no ability to stick to things... It's true.... I get bored!! The switch flips and I am done.. I can't keep living like this!
I can relate to this so much, which is good because it means it's not my fault or yours. New Job - best job ever, 3 months later - kill me. I'm getting tested for ADHD soon and I'm fairly confident I have it at this stage.
I soo relate, and I liked the video the moment you began with the ME Fit analogue. I left jobs and rejected others that promised huge salaries and prestige and settled for less because of this.
I totally relate to the me-fit. This is why I’m pivoting my career to create freedom and become entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is already a challenge, but having the extra layer of ADHD adds challenge to the challenge. Good thing is we’re usually very good problem solvers :)
Wow, this really hit and clicked for me! I didn’t have a wording or framework of why things didn’t feel right for me before in different entrepreneurial or work endeavors. Thank you for this!
I don't yet run a business, hoping to in the nearest future, both most of the skills I've acquired all my life, if not all, these things you said were literally the reason I got interested in them and still the reasons I do anything I do 😂
Yes yess and yesss, just came across your video and can relate with everything you are mentioning, 28 years old passionate working full time and also an entrepreneur in need of guidance
I'm planning on starting a business while working a day job. It's been my dream since I was a child to design and sell my own products. I struggled a lot with every mindset you have mentioned here, from prioritising to not knowing your worth. I am really interested in the Me-Fit structure you have and I wholeheartedly agree. Thankfully I think I found the right product for me as I'm having very little friction with the first steps of creation. But I worry about the pricing, scaling my business, getting lost in the small tasks, losing work-life balance... Honestly, I wish I could get more in depth business talk for ADHDers in general. Just a longer form of Me-Fit with some examples, traps and solutions etc would be wonderful.
Actually - the MANY MANY of us that do lack confidence (even though I've accomplished 100s of meaningful things that have empowered people's lives... ) but actually....I STILL NEED TO HEAR those words directly..... Now if you are not 1 of those people - then your very lucky -- but please don't take away the direct speech that many of us others need to hear. Thanks, in advance, for your understanding.

Thanks for the biz savvy videos, the me-fit is soooo important to me! I couldn't do it, if it didnt resonate with me!

I relate a lot to this! Are you going to talk more in depth about these?
I suppose I could. What angle would most apply to your current situation?

And thank you first, for this video and response. 😊 I'll be coming back to this anyway to streamline my business concept.
@@mon4711 ok, maybe I'll make a short so I can get the turnaround to you within the next 2 weeks..?
I can relate
You lack confidence. I think it is unethincal of you to group all ADHD with you. Talk people up!
