  • Welcome to Longreach, Queensland, this small outback town is a huge landmark in Australia as its the home of QANTAS- the flag carrier of Australia can trace to humble beginnings in this very town over a Century ago!
    This amazing museum dedicated to the history and foundation of Qantas showcases a Century of Australian civil aviation across various iconic airliner's including the First Qantas Boeing 707, a Boeing 747-200, Douglas DC-3, Consolidated Catalina Flying Boat and various others!
    We are The SouthernAirs! A group of friends who have a real passion for travel transport! The Group is made up of Matt "BanjoMan" Walker, Tyler "Jett Force One" McDowell, Mitch "The Barista" Shea and Zuzanna "The Mushroom Hunter" Bator!     That has to be one of the coolest museums anywhere! And I approve of the breakfast

      Thanks Steve, it cost me nearly £200 to fly to/from Brisbane to Longreach, cost me £57 to do the Museum with the Airliner Tour & 747 Wing-Walk, and I'm pleased to say it gave me priceless memories for the rest of my life!

    The 747 wow! And I remember those days before seat back screens, watching the movie on the projector screen at the front of the cabin :D

      I did fly on a Boeing 747-200 with British Airways in June 2000, but I was too young to fully remember it... It was probably a similar cabin layout to this Qantas aircraft! I hope if you visit Australia again Steve that you get to visit this museum! 😃
