I share all of my thoughts & predictions with you about this - and why 2025 could be an epic year for new roller coasters at the Cedar Fair parks! I'm concerned about how the six flags merger with cedar fair may effect things.
My favourite coaster memory of the year, is my night ride on Shambhala at about 10:45 at night, pitch black and the airtime was real and there. That wasn’t just the best memory of the year, but my life🤩🔥

I visited King's Island for the first time along with my fiancée while going to job hunt in Tennessee. Coming from Sandusky and having Cedar Point as my home park, I was blown away by the park. While it didn't have the highs of Maverick or Steel Vengeance it felt like it was on average better and the operations blew me away. Not to mention the last time I had ridden a wooden coaster was Mean Streak, so The Beast and Mystic Timbers were out of this world.
That's how I was Mt first visit to KI. I'm a little over an hour from CP, and 4 from KI. I would rather go to KI sometimes because while the rides are better at CP, KI has hands down, the best park of all the CF parks I've been to.

@@Spike-sk7qlI agree. I live in the Cleveland area, so I’m closer to Cedar Point. That being said, Kings Island has been more of a home park to me than Cedar Point in the last year, because I usually have better experiences there. It’s clean, colorful, and vibrant (not to mention they have almost as many coasters as Cedar Point), and they have Winterfest. If they got coasters like Steel Vengeance and Maverick, they could easily rival Cedar Point and Six Flags Magic Mountain!
This year I FINALLY rode El Toro and Jersey Devil. They were both closed on my first trip to Great Adventure. It was so dead the day I was there we kept hopping on rides over and over. Especially Kingda Ka, El Toro, and Nitro.
Rumor is that Canada's Wonderland is getting a B&M Wing launch coaster through Wonder Mountain. I've seen the concept, it looks wicked. Maybe the next one will be a Spinner or an inverted..we will see what happens at each park.❤❤❤❤
My favorite coaster memory this year was finally getting to return to Cedar Point after 16 years and getting amazingly lucky due to weather, I got 9 rides on Steel Vengeance and 6 rides on Maverick
My favorite memories from this year is experiencing new parks like Six Flags St Louis, Silver Dollar City, Worlds of Fun, Indiana Beach, Kentucky Kingdom, Kennywood, and Delgrosso's! I'm also happy I finally got to ride Nitro and Skyrush!
My favorite memory from this year is without a doubt my first ride on The Voyage at Holiday World, that ride just seemed to never end and despite seeing POVs before it still surprised me with how long it was
My favorite coaster memory of 2023 is either my seven year old riding Lightning Rod and deciding she loved coasters as much as I do. Or my trip to Cedar Point last weekend (first trip there, been wanting to go since I was a kid) and riding Steel Vengeance 36 times.

I know Knott’s isn’t a coaster driven park but today was just sad. They are down to 4 operating coasters at this weekend. Every other attraction had huge lines. I rarely go on Saturdays but felt for anyone that paid admission to have up to 5 coasters down out of 9.
So desperately need another high capacity ride.
When it comes to Knotts right now, most of their rides are closed/down cause they're getting prepared for Scary Farm and then Merry Farm not so far after. Usually, on a weekend, it goes from 10am-10pm, but for Scary Farm, some days will last till 1am. Thus, it's important for them to work on the rides so they're prepared for the upcoming Holidays as they'll be running 3-4 more hours nightly.
Xcelerator is currently being worked on, with them testing the ride with water dummies and preparing the station. Ghostrider is getting prepared for Scary Farm and extra hours that'll cause it to run longer. Montezoomas Revenge won't likely reopen till 2024. I hope this explains it a small bit!
I'd love to see Knotts add another ride, such as the rumor of a Giga. One of the main issue I can see happening though is that neighbors might have noise complaints as how they did with Pony Express and Ghostrider. Also, there's not much land, but the Mystery Lodge would make a good station since it's not in use!
Volcano replacement HAS TO BE BETTER AND MORE ICONIC THAN VOLCANO ITSELF. I keep seeing marks posting that the old Volcano plot isn't that big. As if that has stopped parks like SFOG from putting in monsters like Goliath before. Too bad Tumbili is similar to Eejanaika because that would have been so perfect. The only acceptable answer is a GIANT themed Polarcoaster. KD should revive the I-95 Coaster and push for that as well. Free advertisement as drivers pass by.

My favorite coaster memory so far this year was marathoning my new number 1. Arieforce one. I got 16 rides on it in 4 hours and I got to do it for the first time with my daughter in the front row. Memories like that last a lifetime
My favorite memory thus far was visiting King's Island last Friday. It was my first time there, and I was nervous I couldn't stack up credits because it was only open from 5-10 p.m. However, when I mean to say that everything was a walk-on, EVERYTHING was a walk-on. The park was completely dead. I rode absolutely everything in a matter of a couple of hours and then marathoned Mystic Timbers until the fireworks went off. It was a blast, and MT is now in my top five.

I think 2025 will be Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds. Valleyfair I think is 2026 along with Kings Island. I think Valleyfair gets a small/medium size B&M invert likely around the size of Talon or Patriot. Probably would cost around the same as Iron Menace so it would work for Valleyfair. I think Wonderland gets the launched wing (both concepts in the survey were labeled as launched wing coasters), KD I predict a GCI (ik they already have Grizzly and Racer 75, but that didn't stop KI from building Mystic Timbers when they already had Racer and Beast. Plus GCI's aren't that expensive and a woodie would fit with the Jungle/Safari theming of Jungle X. Also the other coaster in the wonderland survey was a GCI so I wouldn't rule out the possibility that both B&M and GCI are in running for contracts with CF for 2025 so it would make sense that if wonderland gets the wing, then another park could get a GCI). Carowinds I predict the Mack water coaster, but with a custom layout themed around the sliding rock in Asheville, NC.
i could legitimately see dorney getting something else like a vekoma family coaster in 2026
I agree. Apparently Cedar Fair is looking to specifically start putting big investments into Dorney and bring it closer to tier 1 because of their market area and the numbers Hershey has been pulling in. Supposedly Iron Menace is just the start of their plan. I could see them getting a water park and planet snoopy expansion with a family coaster within the next 3 years and another major coaster within 5 years.

For me the favorite coaster experience I’ve had this year is when I rode fury in the front for the first time in a year, and it was the first time since the crack, love this video!

We definitely need a coaster like Fury in the US. But of the Cedar Fair parks, I'd think Worlds of Fun would be the most likely to get one.

I went to Georgia to ride Arie Force One (which was amazing) but, i was pleasantly surprised with my rides on Goliath at Six flags Over Georgia. Wow. What an incredible coaster! It just kept getting better every time i rode it!

I would love to see a vekoma launched fly coaster come to Kings Dominion, it could be themed to volcano and the park is also missing an inverted coaster of some type

I'm good with Kings Island getting a coaster in 2026 as long as we get a retheme of the next area and some new flat rides. I really enjoyed the new flat rides at Carrowinds this year.
They're doing camp snoopy for the new family coaster next year, and they really upgraded adventure port this year. Even if they just say "here's your damn coaster on the Vortex plot" and nothing else, and I'd be good.
Also, Valleyfair can receive second-generation Vekoma's SLC with improved trains and tracks. I do believe Cedar Fair wanted to update their old Vekoma coasters much-needed update to improve guest experience in other parks they have in their roster of coasters.
I wonder cedar point and dorney park are getting their interactive 4d dark ride. Cedar fair made up a plan to have dark rides for their parks to collect their amusement dark collection

Just did a weekend at Hersheypark. First time visiting there. Most exciting coaster moment (so far this year) was most definitely Wildcat's Revenge. I love its relentless short and sweet attack. 👍👍👍

I can see it. Two big coasters with Canada's Wonderland likely getting THE big coaster. Then Carowinds or KD getting the other.
Then two of the parks get a small junior/family like coaster of the level of Snoopy racing railways or Soapbox racers.

My favorite highlights of the year is me visiting Florida for the 1st time to go to SeaWorld Orlando and BG Tampa to ride rides like Mako, Mantra, Montu and my favorite Iron Gwazi,also Gonna to Cedar Point for Coastermania to get Night ERTs and being around fellow coaster enthusiasts
My favorite coaster memory was watching the progress on TT2 & all of us discussing every hint & possibility. Its almost had zero chance to live up to our guestimates!
I think valley fair will probably get a new coaster it’s been so long I think it will some type of vekoma my favorite coaster memory this year has to be maverick just having an intense ride I like intensity rides so it was really good!

What do you think about railblazer at Michigan’s adventure. It’s relatively new and smooth, cheap bc it’s rmc and it’s relocated, and could turn the annoying horseshoe layout into a circle.
And maybe in that area they could add a drop tower or pengulem ride.
My favorite coaster memory this year is when I was laughing my head off after my first rode on X2 at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Favorite memory of the year was the week of July 4th at Magic Mountain, my home park. My friend visiting from up north and I had gotten off of X2 and decided to hit one more coaster since It was getting close to fireworks time and we wanted to watch. We ended up at Scream which is a fantastic ride any time of day, but especially at night. Fireworks show starts as we get ready to get on the ride and the ride operator says "You guys are going to have the best view of the fireworks in the park." So we get about 3/4 of the way up the lift hill and he stops the ride to let us watch for a minute before finishing the ride which was absolutely magical being lit by fireworks. My prediction for Magic Mountain is that the two years to watch are 2025 and 2028 (when LA hosts the Olympics.) Knott's will probably make moves for big rides around then as well and Universal could surprise us all with another big addition after Hollywood Drift.

Mu favorite memory from this year is riding the fury for the frist time and it was amazing and if haven't visited carowinds yet i would recommend it.

Also, my favorite coaster memory so far this year is mostly everytime I visit Knotts! I'm friends with the people who operate at Hangtime. Usually everytime we meet with high five or fist bump. I also always bring a painted rock or craft for them to make their day. So, if you ever see someone put a painted rock nearby or in the station, or you see someone with a colorful bead bracelet, that's from me! :)

Best coaster moments of the year so far
1) my children finally trying some coasters and enjoying them. My son now likes vampire at Chessington and my daughter went on all the coasters at CavallinoMatto on holiday except for the Stand Up coaster. (Project 1 the Schwarzkopf was her favourite)
2) riding Megaphobia at Oakwood in wales at the RCCGB Mega Glow Mania event. This ride now has mega airtime since they re profiled and re tracked.

Favorite coaster memory was riding Fury with the crack 30 minutes before they shut it down. JK, but seriously we got 2 back to back fireworks rides in the back row on Fury the night before. Great memories for me and my son.

Just got to kings dominion recently. There is construction equipment in that exact spot with a large building. I don't know what they are doing back there, but they are doing something back there.

B&M inverted is a decent choice, but give me an RMC. Intamin like Maverick.
Go back to 2017 or so and imagine thinking "Six Flags is working with B&M and Intamin again but Cedar Fair is thankfully working with Vekoma."
2025 is Kings Dominions 50th anniversary. I’ve actually been going there since 1974 when it was just Lion Country Safari. So they should do something special. They should start with replacing all the disgusting restrooms.😂
I think your timeline and which parks are spot on. But not the individual kinds of coasters. Cedar Fair doesn’t really do much with water rides, so I do not envision a water coaster though that would be nice. I also do not see them building a tilt coaster anywhere, and certainly not on Volcano’s plot. That spot is going to HAVE to give a nod to volcano in some way, else people will be extremely disappointed. They really need a new Volcano. What would really be nice here is a heavily themed new generation Vekoma flying coaster. There can’t be just one on the planet. We need more.
A water coaster was something Carowinds surveyed their guests about in a recent survey along with a rapids ride and log flume so it is not completely out of the question.
I think Carowinds is gonna get a water ride in 2025. Too much stuff is pointing that way with guest surveys... I don't think they'll go coaster because believe it or not, Water Rides alone are more marketable than a water coaster because water rides will attract both coaster enthusiasts as well as those who won't ride coasters. Water rides have a large appeal alone so, I think it'd almost limit your audience getting a water coaster compared to a traditional Intamin raft ride or some new-flume type thing. (Although I am very hard pressed to think ANYTHING Intamin is going into any Cedar Fair parks)
KD is an interesting one. The Volcano plot is a very interesting plot of land. I am not on board with the Tilt Coaster just yet... I think Cedar Fair would wait a TAD bit longer before jumping on one... Plus, I wouldn't be shocked if that Cedar Point gets the first Vekoma Tilt. I actually could see something like the Dorney B&M Dive coming to this park tbh. Or even a small B&M Invert coming in here.
Valleyfair- I actually wouldn't be shocked if this isn't another wooden coaster or a Vekoma family boomerang. Who'd have thought that WOF would essentially go back to back wooden coasters. I could see Valleyfair doing the same thing.
Canada's Wonderland- Another interesting one... I am leaning actually towards a Wooden installation here. Whether it be having Mighty Canadian Minebuster or Wilde Beast getting Titan track (I don't see RMC doing anything for Cedar Fair for a bit tbh), or some type of ground up Wooden coaster. Both would fit the most pressing need in that park. But I actually think that CW might be on the back burner here for a bit in regards to a coaster instillation.
I actually think Michigan's Adventure might actually be in the line for something soon. Namely because we have seen Dorney, and World's of Fun get something. Plus, I actually have been seeing Cedar Fair giving that park some money as of late. Namely some pretty intense retracking on Shivering Timbers and Wolverine Wildcat lately. I could see a Vekoma Family Boomerang working really well here. I could actually see this before Canada's Wonderland and Valleyfair getting coasters. I doubt it will be a Wild Moose though... For some reason, I am getting a lot of negative vibes about RMC from my Cedar Fair sources. Hence why I am not big on RMC going to any Cedar Fair park any time soon. Much in the same vein as the Cedar Fair/Intamin relationship.
Would be great if Knott's finally got a suspended family coaster. But given limited space in Camp Snoopy, a 247m Vekoma Junior Coaster (i.e. Rookie Racer) could work well for the park.
I'm skeptical about a Tilt Coaster for Kings Dominion, and a STC isn't ideal for Valleyfair! with Lost Island in the area. I'd rather see Waterloo get a modern STC to replace Nopuko. If Cedar Fair isn't willing to invest in a launched wing coaster for the Volcano plot, than a Gerstlauer Infinity with a launched section would be a solid addition to KD. And if Iron Menace is a massive success, there's no reason Valleyfair! can't have a mini dive of its own. They desperately need a coaster with 5+ inversions...so how does the first cobra roll on a B&M Dive sound?
I’am lucky living in Columbus oh, I have two home parks. Cedar point is 2hrs to the north and kings island 1and half to the south.😊

I live close to Knott's Berry Farm, and that park is getting nothing anytime soon!
I'm so sick of the same 3-4 parks getting new major coasters every damn year while the smaller parks get zilch.
Sure, Dorney Park and Worlds of Fun finally got some love, but CF's continued neglect of other parks like Valleyfair and Michigan's Adventure is borderline criminal. CA Great America is about to be closed outright, so they have it even worse!
CF may be finally forced to spend big on Kings Dominion due to Volcano dying unexpectedly, leaving a gaping hole in their lineup.
To be fair KI is getting a kid coaster. Not an actual thrill coaster. I think KI is due for another coaster with it opening in 2025. It'll be 5 years from that time that Orion opened and generally KI gets a new thrill coaster every 3-4 years. It'll be 5 years if they open one in 2025.

I wouldn't count out cedar point for a new coaster sooner..Let's be honest here,park attendance is down,it's not a secret.When a park goes to build another coaster it's a year or 2 process.They didn't plan on revamping dragster the way they are,kind of a wrench in the works so to speak.They had something in the works already before dragster,let's see if they keep it on the same timeline

Cedar fair won’t even retrack shivering Timbers. It has so many pot holes it isn’t even funny it makes the ride seem unsafe. I hope MA gets a new RMC but I highly highly doubt any investment will get put into this park. I don’t see cedar fair spending any money in this park for another 5 years minimum.
With the unbearably rough ride combined with the terrible individual-lapbar-trains from PTC, High Roller doesn't even crack my top 20 (out of 30). I see mini-RMC all over it and that is my wish for Valleyfair's next coaster.
Excalibur has a better layout for the RMC treatment.
I'd say renovate that coaster, and keep High Roller as the "classic" coaster.
