Gruen presicion 510 beautiful and stylish watch
2:17-2:32 I love that description. Most people think Bond has to wear a luxury brand because of his high luxury standards, but it’s more because of his time in the military and using a watch as a tool. He uses luxury brands because he needs the high level of reliability from the craftsmanship of Swiss diving watches of the time.
And back then we didn’t have smart watches and quartz watches or even wrist computers 😅😂
@@HuXian- as they say, it was a much simpler time 😂
Great vid, the Gruen 510 Bond watch is my favorite.
Little known fact, the watch in OHMSS shown here at 5:04 is actually a small crown, no hash mark, no crown guard sub with the crown pulled out. It's a blink and you'll miss it continuity break.
Gruen 510 is the only bond watch I can afford 😮 I've got x2
Thanks for the info
Nice content. I’m amazed by the fact that Bond is under strapping the watch. Know anything about that?
Good stuff!
Thank you sir. Did you have a favorite watch in the bunch, or from another Bond film perhaps?
@@GentlemanMasterclass Well, I'm lucky enough to have found the same Breitling Top Time in good original condition. (Minus the Geiger counter, of course!) & that cracking Spectre Seamaster from 2015, which is a pleasure to wear. How about you? The first video of yours that I watched (yesterday) featured the vintage Gruen, so I know about that one. Any others?
Thx. Hopefully Rolex will return to the Bond franchise someday.
well I hope the Bond Franchise will try something new and wear more affordable watch brands like Longines or Hamilton :D so I can buy it and feel Like Bond..
There all movie watch
James Bond wears a Black Bay 58😄
The notion of the gold dress watch being a Gruen 510 is unfortunately untrue and can be traced to a (now deleted) bloggpost from about 2014, which just made the claim without any solid references. Recently there has been photos surfaced of Sean Connery from behinds the Scenes and in his off time wearing the watch, which seems to indicate that it was in fact his personal watch that he wore along with the Submariner. The identity of the watch is still unknown - and though it's very similar to the Gruen, with the same dial layout and style of hands, the case and lugs do not match what so ever.
This means the identity of the watch is till up for debate, but the Gruen 510 is debunked.
Dell Deaton never backtracked on that being the watch.

@manMasterclassOh, my mistake - I was under the impression the post had been deleted as I've tried to find the original post, might just have been temporarily down last time I checked. However I stand firm of the watch being misidentified as a Gruen based on my own research.
Just as a PS: I posted a forum link to the findings debunking the Gruen - but for one reason or another, that comment was removed.
@@oskareriksson3835 If the channel owner don't allow, only the links his post is allowed, any other was deleted by YT boot.
Wasn’t there a watch that woke him up?
With 25 movies, I can't even recall at this point. Jog my memory, tell me what movie you saw it in, and maybe I will remember,
Maybe was sir roger moore with a digital watch
Funny to always claim that the Gruen is James Bond's watch... when there is no direct proof of this.
First of all, there were many similar watches in those years.
Then, the latest expertise on 4K films seems to point towards another watch model.
"Then, the latest expertise on 4K films seems to point towards another watch model."
What other model? You tell me.
Dell Deaton's pick has become the de facto pick because he was the one to vocally express his opinion and make a big claim. Those who speak win the war. I have a friend in Germany who agrees with you, but he refuses to use his real name publicly, show his face publicly, or speak about it publicly, so his opinion is dismissed, and no one other than me will have heard it. That's the way these things work.
@@GentlemanMasterclass Mr. Dell Deaton's proposals have been strongly questioned for years on specialist sites. Particularly on the AJB forum where Mr. DD preferred to delete all his posts and run away rather than respond with arguments to the counter-proposals made to him on his quest for 007's Mystery Watch! I also think I know - if I'm not mistaken - who your German friend is...
Likewise on Rolex too, notably those owned by Ian Fleming, he was on the wrong side. I was recently able to read very in-depth expert opinions on the Rolex Watch Forum which I invite you to read. Moreover, regarding this Gruen watch, there is no formal proof that it is among Bond's watches. It was an American brand and may have been encouraged by that.
As I have stated, the 60's saw quite a few similar watches.
So, according to very precise details based on comparisons of cases, dials and other details, 007's mystery watch could be a Girard Perregaux 17 jewels.
This proposal appeared very interesting and well-argued. This is what I can tell you.
