    ---------------------------------------------------------
The Makita XGT brushless air compressor operates with the help of a brushless motor that delivers an optimum pressure rating of 135 PSI. The cordless compressor has a lightweight design that makes it easier to use in confined spaces. Quiet series technology operates a low sound level of 68 dB for more operator comfort. Roll cage construction safeguards the pump and motor from harsh impacts and wear and tear. The fully charged 40 Volt 8 Amp-Hours battery has the capacity to accommodate up to 1400 finish nails.

I was able to get the corded version of this compressor right after Christmas from Home Depot for only $80! It was the last one they had for the holiday season selling it for $199 holiday special. It had already been marked down to $120 after Christmas, and when the manager saw that I was interested in some other Makita tools, he told me he was going to make me a deal I couldn't refuse. He was right! It's a great small compressor too.
I realize that it's not the same as what you're featuring in the video, but for about 80% less than the cordless version, I'll deal with needing to break out the extension cord and plugging it in when I have to use it.

Makita makes some of the best corded compressors on the market next to roll air …so I assume a cordless one would be just as good

As a custom cabinet maker and installer we actually don't have widely available power on site a lot of times the temporary plug is either nearly 50 yards from the house or everybody on site is fighting over one single 4 way. The metabo htp 36v compressor has been serving us well. There are just some nail guns that don't have cordless versions yet like 23ga staplers. Corded or cordless is such a big plus as well. Can even do light framing with it making pony walls

I have the cordless Dewalt and it is deafeningly noisy to the point of considering hearing protection .. so this Makita is attractive to me. I've collected many XGT tools over recent times so it's just a skin investment. The propensity for it to walk concerned me a little, I could imagine it walking off a bench or making its way underfoot if on the floor. You'd think we'd be living in an age where we could develop a compressor with less vibration!

I love mine. I am a professional trim carpenter. This compressor definitely serves its purpose. Is it for trimming a whole house. Not so much. But is it great for punch list and smaller trim jobs, perfect for that application.

Might as well just buy cordless nailers if you're just doing punch list stuff and not drag a hose around.
The latest M18 nailers solved all the old issues of nailers not setting etc. They work great even on hardwoods.

And just commenting on filling tires with this compressor, Makita advertises it for that usage, but if you were just referring to filling up all four tires right after they were mounted on a set of rims, then I’d agree probably not meant for that, but it should be able to handle just topping off tires when they have lost some air, especially during seasonal changes. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone looking to pick up one of these bad boys 🤣

Thank you. I want to use it to top up my tires but also to use it for an air gun on jobsites.

I appreciate the video. I live in Taipei, Taiwan. I just bought this compressor. I charged the battery, which I bought separately, connected it, and turned on the compressor to fill the tank. While the tank was filling up, the compressor engine began to smoke. I turned it off quickly. It smelled like burnt rubber so I thought it was maybe the belt. I looked through the plastic cover with a flashlight, not wanting to remove the cover, and it looked like there were Black rubber debris from the belt. I don’t know what happened, but I’ve never heard of this happening with a compressor before. I’m wondering if the dealer had sold me a refurbished compressor.

Thanks for the vid, just got one of those and noticed that the regulator can be locked. The bottom red ring is knurled so you can tighten spin it up on the regulator knob after you adjusted it. Haven’t read the manual yet but I think that’s how that works 🤷‍♂️

I am an avid Makita user. But I would not give up my Senco cordless nailers for anything. No cord A N D no hose to rub on things or get snagged. My Senco framer will sink galvanized framing nails into LVL with ease.

Is this a steel tank, or alu? Since I started with alu tanks, I really appreciate the clear water that drains out. Steel makes a rusty mess.

You have to be able to fill up tires with it. It does not take 30 minutes to fill tires.

      Is it good for tires?

    • @williamweatherall8333
      @williamweatherall8333 Před 29 dny +1

@@JoshuaYanez-hh8hc I don't own one, but if you look at the things sold for pumping up tires (I have one of those. It is super tiny and cheap, but just fine), they are typically smaller and less robust. I think it is rather bulky for something that you would use to fill tires.
But say you were to use it for filling tires (10 gallons at 80 psi about for truck rear tires, the worst case), boyles law from the fill time of 1:35 to get to 2 gallons at 135 says it should be 5 minutes to fill a tire from flat. Most of the time you aren't filling from flat though.

I find it really unfortunate that there is no 2x18V Version. If it runs on one 40V battery it can be easily made to run on 36V.
