I know this is going to sound totally crazy, but when I saw the cracker coming out of the cracker maker, the squashed seafood reminded me of those fossils that are found in places like Messel, Solnhofen and the Burgess Shales: squashed perfectly flat, yet perfectly preserved and full of detail!
for someone who curious about how the crab can be squashed at eat like that. In Thailand we have soft shell crab, which mean crab after shedding (better catch within 1-2 hrs after shedding if not the new shell will be more than 30% complete and it will be too hard) its shell still soft so you can eat the whole crab. Various menus from soft shell crab here such as fried with garlic, curry, fried with chilies. The price is due to the size. For the texture & thickness of soft shell, It's like a thick & rubberlike apple skin, lighter and much easier to chew than avocado skin. I think countries that have shallow sea coast also have this since they can do crab farm with specific crab type (I never seen soft shell Alaska king crab or deep sea crab before) Other countries may hardy find them or they just import them so it maybe pricey. (Sorry about my English)
@@snowylilacs7952 we have them on the northeast coast, too. I’m in NJ and soft shell crabs are pretty popular. They’re expensive since it’s hard to find them in the few days that they’re totally soft. Then they turn into “tinbacks” and are a bit more firm. Soft shell crabs are delicious!
Look at how wonderfully that GIANT seafood cracker is created and beautifully served in that custom sleeve! Paper thin, nice and crispy, with what looks like some type of savory sauce carefully painted on at the end. It looks so incredibly decadent, delicious and special. it's surprising. O.O!!! if someone had tried describing this to me I would've thought they were pulling my leg. "so, you're saying they just 'stick a crab in there' and then👏 flat....? right."

As surprised as I am about this unique snack, I am even more surprised by the price! Soft shell crab for 5 dollars after the pandemic! I just assumed prices everywhere must be as insane as they are here but now I'm thinking I've got to do some research and reconsider travel!
Food in Japan is one of the few things that is actually relatively cheap, especially seafood. Of course you will find super expensive variants but I'm talking about for normal people.
It would have been helpful if you shared the location of the night market (I assume) in Thailand. There are so many of them and the individual stalls may not be easy to find on Google Maps. I go to Bangkok often and it would have been nice to know where to find this.
@@markylon I'm very confident this is in Thailand because of the Thai text and little snack next to this store. This is probably at one of the many night markets there since I've been to Bangkok numerous times before Covid. The thing I was referring to was the store or night market name, since most stalls within night markets may not have a Google maps location.
@@markylon I am Thai and I can confirm it’s probably in Thailand since they are speaking Thai. I am not sure about the location though but it’s maybe just an international market.

I've had a lot of different types of senbei, but this one's a first for me! Is it a sweet senbei? (I'm not sure if I've ever eaten a senbei that wasn't sweet.) Hey, I'd try it. 😁

Pretty much yes, we also have soft shelled crabs in the southern states of America
But the claw are super hard XD
Thanks for explanation :)

Hello from London 👋
Oh! this is Japanese food in Thailand.
Thailand people love Thai food and Japanese food so much.
Welcome to the hydraulic seafood press channel...
This looks so good, perfect for a seafood craving.
I think this was featured on Best Ever Food Review Show with Sonny. I remember the press making a screaming sound when making the cracker. 🤭🤭🤭
I want that seafood cracker! I’d do exactly as Mrs Bacon did, and take a massive bite.
This looks delicious, wish we had something like this in my country
Wow that sounds yummy in my tummy for different sea food creatures and I didn’t know they could squash them flat and cool

I'm impressed with the octopus being crispy! They are usually so rubbery
