It may be geared towards the adult generation but i think a whole new generation could fall in love with all of the great shows that metv toons will air.

Early CN, Boomerang, and TCM were my favorite stations. This sounds like a perfect fusion of all three. Having Jerry on is a great bonus that gives me faith that everything will be done faithfully.
And now, all the 3 MeTV channels are essentially that. Actually, their "Movies!" channel is the old TCM. These guys know classic TV, and they're doing a damn good job with their tv channels.

The today's Boomerang and CN are slowly in a declining state.
they should do holiday themed metv toons for the 4th of july, halloween, thanksgiving, christmas, valentine's day, st. patrick's day, veteran's day, memorial day, mlk day and to honor the olympics they should add the laff a lympics
I was thinking about a channel similar to this a few years ago, because when I see the animation geared towards kids, it's unwatchable to me, maybe because the Looney tunes was meant for movie theaters back in the 30s 40s and 50s, before the main feature, they were brilliant and for everyone ! I can't wait to see the Cartoon Me TV !

Our family will love watching this channel. They already are watching old school Scooby and Tom and Jerry on Tubi, so we can't wait to check out MeTV Toons. Launching during summer break is a killer move too.

I'm especially excited for the remade Secret Squirrel, which was part of the 2 Stupid Dogs lineup. Those were hilarious.
Once this channel launches, I'm NEVER leaving it... Unless Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur comes on Disney Channel! I'll watch that, then come back to MeTvToons!
I hope we'll see the Don Bluth films or movies like The Swan Princess or Cats Don't Dance in the future.
I do hope that what was presented in the interview actually comes true. MeTV rarely makes program changes. So I'll be keeping an eye on what type of rotation of cartoons actually happen. I'd like to see MeTV run a weekend preview of MeTV Toons by combining cartoon that have a connection to a TV show. MeTV did this in the past with The Flintstones and The Honeymooners. They can also have Wait Till Your Father Gets Home and All in the Family, Help!, it's the Hairbear Bunch and Hogan's Heroes, and so on. Most of all I hope this doesn't morph into what Cartoon Network and Boomerang ended up being. Plus no edited content for the sake of advertising.

I am hoping to see shows from other studios such as Filmation, Sumbow, Ranking Bass and Terrytoons. This channel will be huge!
It's also being rumored that they will be ushering in some checkered-era Cartoon Network staples as well!
It would be nice if the old Toonheads series could be shown on the channel. I'm guessing it won't happen since Cartoon Network owns those episodes but a person can dream!

Weigel Broadcasting has a full over-the-air channel here in my area-- eight subchannels and this will be one of it. Free and over-the-air!

It is only a rumor right now, but apparently according to the programming director who left a comment on another channel's video about this (could have been anyone saying this) they do plan to move shows around and usher in some Cartoon Network checkered era classics.
I hope they launch here in dayton ohio im 22 and im very excited for this channel i know there are two streaming services they are launching on but I'm hoping they launched here eventually over the air ❤❤. I love 80s cartoons and most of these cartoons I have never seen before but I am really really excited.

There is a brand new TOP CAT: COMPLETE SERIES Blu-ray coming out in August so it is safe to assume they will show up on METV TOONS at some point.

The Bullwinkle cartoons I've seen lately look incredibly washed-out. I can't wait to see them with vibrant colors.

I grew up with hannah barbera reruns on boomerang in the mid 2000s and 2010s. My daddy also watched those shows as a kid. I watched the whole show of Freakazoid for the first time on TV. Too bad it doesn't have a lot of seasons.

People were saying how they wanted a lot of Cartoon Network shows it’s only one Cartoon Network show and I think Jerry would agree with me that would fit with MeTV tunes format and that’s Toonheads documentary show about classic cartoons

What streaming services do you have now though?
Because both FrndlyTV and Philo will be carrying MeTV Toons. And they both have a few streaming services that you can bundle together. That way, you only have to use one app. For instance, Frndly can be bundled with both Lifetime and Hallmark Movies, and Philo can be bundled with Starz, MGM+ and already comes with AMC+.
Yeah somebody has talked about this anniversary special. Parsley it's not one I'm excited about but based on what I've been reading on different comments on Facebook I'm sure this is going to be a real hit because it is about a cartoon character that many love and is definitely classic cartoon character

All this build up - if our METV affiliate doesn’t launch Toons, it will be a crushing disappointment.
There could be a slower roll-out than you might find with a bigger network. So hopefully the fan response is strong enough that Weigel can expand over the rest of the year...
nothing wrong with certain toy and certian cereal commercials especially from the late 50's 60's and very early 70's , they were fun to watch , it would be nice to see the 2' free loading magg pies heckle & jeckle

At 5:57 Jerry says that Warner Bros. is restoring their library. Does that include the shorts, or is it just going to be the H-B shows?
WB has been actively restoring shorts and HB. I think you'll hear some interesting announcements in the hear future

In a few of the articles I've read about MeTV Toons they said they will be adding a free streaming channel eventually, they just don't say when.
Hopefully they'll somehow get either the Disney or Paramount library down the road. That said this is great and I'm looking forward to it.
Forget about Disney! Jerry Beck that Disney's too greedy with their property.
They do have the Paramount library. But Disney is probably a no no. At least for now, until they realize now much money they're missing out on in potential Disney+ customers.

Hi Richard, this channel is a collaboration between two corporations, Weigel Broadcasting and Warner Bros Discovery, so it can always change based on ownership and shifting priorities at each company. But a strong launch will send the right message that there are fans who want this content.

And they are purposefully not sharing all of their plans for the future, so keep checking in with the website for updated info.
@@theextrastv8283 since those 2 own this channel it may not make any difference how well this channel is recieved. The real test will be how much staying power this channel will have after the channel starts running
The First couple of months will tell the story - but even More Important will be the months After the newness wears off before the owners begin to start dictating terms on what should or should Not be on this channel

It’s free, over the air, to the widest audience they can reach, so you probably won’t see anything too saucy.

Columbia owns some of the Saturday Superstar Movies Hanna Barbera did like "Tabitha and Adam and the Clown Family" and "Gidget Makes A Wrong Connection" (both 1972)---and the "Jeannie" cartoon 1973.Will they be airing those after all these years?

I was excited to try it but the channel is a big let down. If you have all the major streaming services and you tube you pretty much have what Me Toons has.

As far as I know, MeTV Toons is not on currently on any cable channel as it's over-the-air broadcast from local stations. FrndlyTV is streaming it.

You know I'll be much more cooler than this if they would be able to allowed in the animators to create their own cartoons and shows and put it here that will be amazing! Instead of just having old cartoons which is great and all but we can have the best of both worlds there's so many indie great cartoons out there like I'm Smiley friends That are created by a small team or sometimes by themselves and it'll be kind of like a CZcams thing but solely dedicated for animators and artists from all over the world it'll be a platform in which they can also earn something through ads or something that can put you know! That's what we really need a platform for artists to earn their keeps and to produce the content there rather than here on CZcams we're just not a dedicated platform for it and they're not going to get anywhere with it! CZcams is more like a general type of platform where everything is except for the important stuff that they keep hiding or censoring!

I was excited but quickly saddened when I realized this channel would feature all the old rusty, moldy cartoons of yesteryear that have been shown 100 million times all around the world. 99% of what you are showing doesn't interest me.
I wish you were showing things like The Transformers, Voltron, G.I Joe, Silver Hawks, Dungeons and Dragons, MASK, Pirates Of Darkwater, etc and also a nice selection of anime to. Oh well. Not everything is for me.
Same! I'm kinda disappointed, that it's the same old public domain stuff that you can see anywhere! Had the same issues with Cartoon Network when it first started, too. It did eventually find its way but originally it was underwhelming!

I don't understand the excitement. I want to understand why this is just happening now. How long will the commercials be? Have you seen how long the infomercials are on free "over the air" HD channel programs at night? I just don't feel like this is really about the viewer or community. How long is this going to be offered before they take it away? Why is this a new concept in 2024? Something's off.

The channel's programming is a revival of classic animation which I don't know if you're aware but there is no channel currently on television that is broadcasting this type and level of content. There's shows on here that hasn't been broadcast on television in decades so that alone is part of the hype.
