My 19 yr old had that same John Deere toolbox toy when he was three. Boy did he love it. He would carry everything that fit in it!. So it is 19-17 yrs old. That’s a lot of yard sales!

I went to Lancaster and Shillington Goodwill over the weekend. What's with the $3.99 for everything? Even the things you could get at the Dollar Store were $3.99. Not as much fun as it was before. Love the garage sales better these days. Have fun you two. Always fun to watch you guys!!

Hard work but great fun. I had a young chap came into the shop and asked do you ever come across old wooden cart wheels. He wanted one for his wedding in a year and a half time. My answers was No But I took his telephone number. When your radar is awaked to particular item you zoom in... I rang his number within 5 weeks I had found a pair of old cart wheels. I got them delivered to my shop the owner wanted rid of them . That was priceless the young groom came to collect them immediately. He was happy and I was happy. The smile on his face was beyond words. Makes the job worthwhile.

At 40.06 those are spatterdashes (spats). They were used to protect shoes from snow and mud and were common in the 1800s through the Victorian age for both men and women to wear.

How much fun was that...I loved this. Reminds me of Walnut Iowa's Antique Walk. The streets are lined with vendors, food & fun. Plus main street is all antique shops.
Skylanders toy bag: funny, I just picked up a large group at auction, day before yesterday, to see if they still had value. Google Lens is making it so much easier to buy vintage toy groups, to identify and pull out those pieces from the group that have enough value to sell on their own, before lotting up the rest for a group sale on eBay. 🙂

The old wooden ironing boards make a great plant holders. You could even get some small macrame hanger for underneath. Great find.
My husband & I also love garage sailing, he focuses on the hard good while I look at kids & adut clothes. We love finding the antique pieces and like you sometimes are tring to figure out how it was used.

That reminded me of the community I want to say Fires Sales? The Amish had big tents with items being auctioned all day out by Lebanon. So much fun. I only lived there for a year but I had so much fun attending the sales.

Those old ironing boards are great for an extra table at a picnic to hold the paper plates and silverware and napkins and such. You can even chalkpaint the top and write what you have in condiment containers on it in chalk.
