  • In this video, the 67 F100 gets ‪@poppyspatina‬ wipe on clear coat, and their spray in bed liner! It turns out awesome!

    Just found your video while I was reserching this. Ignore all the idiots. Most probably don't even have a truck. I prefer the glossy look anyway over the satin finish. I am going to do this exact thing to my own truck. Thanks for all the info, and your truck looks amazing. I'm not a Ford guy, but I'd drive it.

    Fantastic job! Ignore the ignorant haters out there who think that a perfect showroom finish is the only way to go.
    Your truck looks amazing and I think is far cooler because you're maintaining the beautiful unique patina that honors the truck's history.
    I plan on doing exactly the same thing with my old truck, and I am glad that you are one who has already tried the linseed oil method, because I was wondering if I should go that route (because it would cost less in the short term). Now after watching your video, I'm happy and 100% confident that the wipe-on clearcoat is the solution that I will like best.
    You really helped me out. Thank you! 👍👍
    Oh, and that was great idea and job you did making the F100 emblem in the bed as an access door for your fuel hardware. That's genius move bud. Well done.

    I sold my 66 F250 and the first thing the owner did was use Poppy's Patina wipe on clear - but in matte finish. Looks awesome! Your truck looks awesome too. Nicely done bro.

      Thanks man! The matte is definitely a good looking finish too!
      I love it! I've already had a bunch of people asking about it, while out and about! 😆

    I am normally one to say gloss looks bad. I think yours looks good with the amount of paint you still have. Nice job

    How did you address the areas between the bed and the cab? Just reach as far as you can?

    I just did my 67 F250 and chose the gloss finish also. I'm so glad I did as it came out fantastic. Just because I'm curious, I'm planning to wet sand and polish the truck and add a ceramic coating. I love how yours is sitting. Is your axle flipped?

    Will this last as long as a sprayed clear coat ?

    • @JakeHarrington
      @JakeHarrington  Před měsícem

      Good question! It really depends on how thick you build it. Clear coat is normally sprayed in several quotes, so I'd say put at least two coats of this on.
      I've had mine outside in harsh, cold weather, and blistering heat... I haven't seen any peeling or fading at all!

    How many coats did you put on

    • @JakeHarrington
      @JakeHarrington  Před 11 měsíci

      I put 2 coats on it. I applied 2 very thin coats. Places where there wasn't as much patina, I only used one!
