- G’day, today I adjust the rear shocks on my Royal Enfield and do a test ride, I adjusted them by one notch.We also see some Roos on the ride as a bit of a bonus
Simple yet Effective 👍🏻
Initially I thought, making the suspension harder, will only make it worse.
Saw related videos on CZcams, did some research on Forums.
It really did help.👍🏻
I preferred setting it 1 and not to 2 notches. Maybe it will work differently depending on the weight of the rider and luggage.

Hi ABD. I did 2 clicks on my 350 Meteor, thanks to Garry @ ER. Think he did 3 clicks, on his one.
Bike is sounding great.
Got an LED bulb, I need to fit, but now the roads are damp, greasy with leafs, and salt. Think Bumble be safer in garage with the heater on low.

Cool, yeah I think it depends on your weight as well and the super meteor shocks are probably bit different to the meteor 350.👍
riding in those conditions doesn’t sound very inviting at all 😂
I wouldn’t be surprised if you do actually have the heater on for Bumble 😂 along with a blanket and a pillow 😂

The best way to adjust the rear suspension is to replace the crap shocks with Hagons aftermarket shocks.

I also adjusted my preload on my meteor. Two notches though, and it made a big difference. Must not have been Buddy I saw in previous vid, as he has definately not dropped any weight lol. Cheers 🍻

Moving it up a click or two seems to dampen the rebound, adding some weight to the back end improves it even more. Figured out that if my ute's back end kicks up in the air with no weight in the back and doesn't with weight in it the same would apply to my Meteor. Load up the panniers and it rides a lot smoother.
G’day Colin, yeah makes sense mate, we used to throw a couple of bags of cement in the back of the Ute to stop it bouncing around 😁

It seems to be a bit of a theme with RE rear suspension 😂
Compressing that first part of the spring seems to finally make the suspension compliant rather than rigid.
It might have something to do with the Indian tradition of often riding with a pillion, who knows ? 🤷♂
As a solo rider, all RE models that I've experienced so far seem to benefit from adding some preload.
Unless you do that, the spring or damper remains very stiff and you get very little suspension compliance.
Glad to hear that you can tackle the "Himalayan Bumps" with a bit more verve now mate !

I may be getting the red one tomorrow. Those shocks are way easier to adjust than on my Transalp 750.
The best way to go over speed bumps is to slow right down, pull the clutch in and just let the inertia take the bike over. (after adjusting the shocks 😉)

It was a great video but could you please tell me the number i should go for shocker adjustment in my best buddy Super Meteor 650 as i am quite heavyweight 😅😅😅 my height is 6'4 ft tall with the weight of over 120 kg if i add another pillon weight of 80-90kg then that should be the usual carry load my super meteor carries so could you please tell me buddy which one setting should i go for a comfortable ride on bumps and potholes without worrying about hitting the bottom of the bike.

So went down 2 n definitely was a bit less harsher

Love the vid. Great to see Australia and wild kangaroos. Are they a traffic hazzard? Nice surface on the roads. I never need to look for a speed ramp over here. Most roads are excellent, but not the one past my house.

Ive mentioned this tweak to a few people in fb groups. Strangely, some are arguing it does nothing or spruiking on must do shock upgrades.
Strange… it does make a difference, some people maybe like spending money 😁
Won't catch me fertilising the grass I don't like encouraging it to grow...maybe I need a couple of those grass hoppers to keep it down😊.

Why has it taken so long to adjust rear shocks, I put something about this many months ago on Facebook???? I adjusted mine in May . I'm 90kg and mine one click back from fully adjusted.

Did you see the metal fatigue crack in the collar being turned (spring cup holder) 0.46. Must have been quite a vertical shock

All bike shops sell bikes on softest suspension setting & after 300km starts to bed in & gets softer.I had mine set to 2clicks on Interceptor & I reckon you should try another notch ABD.You'll find 2 notches be heaps better especially if over 80kg.One notch is for the skinny buggers 70-80kg.I ran 2 clicks till I put YSS fork upgrade in & used a 15wgt fork oil & & should of used 10wgt & had to add another 2clicks so was on 4clicks but if used 10wgt oil 3 would be enough.I am about 88-89kg.

Hey, is it true when changing to a DNA filter you need to idle ya bike for 10 minutes for the censors and shit to recognise it… saw it on other videos
@@aussiebikerdude6563 I don't know but I did it & it makes sense for ECU to sync with it.10mins is way to long on air cooled bike it'll be fine after 4mins max just don't rev it when starting bike just let it idle & after 4mins be sweet ready to ride.

If you loading up panniers or going 2up add another click so that would be 3 out of 5 & then back 2 if riding single or light.You are at least 2 click person at minimum try 2 for ages to see how you like it & add another for pillion riding.After a few hundred km revalue to see if you need to add another.
