- "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" has a lot of the things you might expect in it - sick sorcery, witchy weirdness, and some whiplash-inducing dimension-hopping. It also has some things that come as real surprises, like a Doctor Strange face with 50% more eyeballs than anyone wanted to see.
As the trailers for the sequel revealed well in advance, when Doctor Stephen Strange encounters a sinister variant of himself from another world, he's shocked to see a whole third eye pop out of his forehead, glaring at him, being gross. It's a shocker in the movie - but there's a lot of comics history about this particularly creepy feature that you might not know about. This is Dr. Strange's third eye explained.

I am gonna be honest the cgi on the 3rd eye looked really bad, like they could have used prosthetic eye instead to make it look much better
Did u saw the movie in 3D? I also saw the movie in 3D and let me be very honest, it was a pain in the eyes like only 1 person was getting focused at a time. After some point of time, i got a headache. And the cgi looked pretty weak in 3D.

- Dr. Strange accept he fact that it is impossible to be with Christine in any universe (accept the truth & unconditional love)
- let America Chavez use her power instead of doing everything under his control like other universes (trust)
- Bow to Wong as Sorcerer Supreme (let go of social status)

3rd eye actually has nothing to do with darkhold. It symbolizes how powerful a sorcerer's power is. That's why Wanda doesn't have a third eye.
It is consequences of using dark magic he didn’t get it until after but it is showing how powerful he is gonna become

same. i wonder why too. not trying to say its bad in general. but preferably I think it could look better (in the sense that i think it looks bad). Perhaps the studio just had a different perspective? or budget problems, time, etc. it looks cropped out.
When your third eye looks badly photoshopped
The eye has always been there, it just doesn't manifest until after. Watch the first movie where the ancient one ask him to open his "eye" and not "eyes"
I honestly thought that the 3rd eye was a consequence that Strange received from using the darkhold to dream-walk into a corpse(the other Dr. Strange that first died in the beginning of Dr. strange 2).
at some point in the film the sling ring of Strange was useless after Wanda erased it from existence during her siege on Kamartaj… if you noticed as Strange was about to open a portal for him and Chavez to escape through… the sling ring suddenly got erased by Wanda’s magic so maybe the eye on his forehead could be another way for him to travel through anywhere even without the sling ring which is a good sign tbh💯💁🏻♀️

Quite interestingly. Wanda and 838 Strange both have black fingers because of the darkhold, but sinister Strange and 616 Strange both have a third eye because of the darkhold

I like this idea. And I think that possibly the third eye appeared on the corrupted Strange as a sign the Eye of Agamoto was attempting to protect Strange from the power of the Darkhold, but it failed. Whereas 616 Strange grew the eye after giving up the Darkhold because the Eye of Agamoto was like "Oh, close call. I'd better keep a closer... EYE... on you!" (ba dum tiss)
If a variant kills a variant they absorb them.

The only stone that does that is the reality stone. It's the only stone that can make the user go to dimension. Time stone only effects time.

Ill save you the trouble, the third eye appeared because strange has transcended normal sorcery. he would be at the level of magic gods. look at real life, it is said when you open your third eye you gain clearity of the universe and how to use it. it couldnt be more fitting for dr strange, he has attained the highest level of sorcery and transcended it
That stone is earth core I think, and the screen in the broken mansion wurh the storm is another symbol...linked wuth some kinda god. .while sinister strange is a sorrowful god symbol like the gid if death.. .Strange also looks like Zod, an alien war lord that apparently owns the earth experiment...the folklore us brilliant...I xant remember wgat the third eye is...but in warhammer is a skill if sorts given to Chaos chosen...

It's purity and balance, the darkhold isn't necessarily evil now is the book of vishanti inherently good. They just... are. Strange showed that he can use the dark hold with out being lured by it, therefore he ascended to a higher being in the magic world.
