    The vines have to be wilted first to reduce the moisture content. Chop the vines into 5 cm length. The ratio of the molasses to water must be 1:2.

      Ratio of molasses to water is only 1:2 when you are using molasses alone to make silage but if you are going to use MolaPlus Pig Microbes the ratio is 1ltr of MolaPlus Pig Microbes in 2ltrs/Kgs of molasses into 20ltrs of water .

      This can be between 3 to 7 days if you have used MolaPlus pig microbes we usually recommend 7days but the farmer can start feeding at day 3 if in urgent need

      @shambasolutions  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes for cattle, goats and sheep (ruminants) we use Molaplus livestock microbes which is very different from what we use for silage for pigs . For pigs we use molaplus pig microbes

    Explain about the ratio of water , molaplus and molasses

    • @shambasolutions

      In every 20liters of fresh/raw water you add 1iter of MolaPlus Pig Microbes and 2ltrs of Molasses
      So ratio of water: MolaPlus: Molasses is 20:1:2

    Is it ok to add bran?
    If so what quantities?

    • @shambasolutions
      @shambasolutions  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yes this is very ok , the quantities depend on your TMR for your farm . Generally we recommend 100kgs of maize bran for every 1000kgs of silage. Thank You

      Silage made using molaplus takes 3 days to get ready and can be stored for as long as 10years as long as you ensure that your silo remains airtight

    Is it true thst pigs start eating this silage after 3months of age

    • @shambasolutions
      @shambasolutions  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes this also depends on your feeding program, target weights and your profit appetite and however we don’t feed pigs based on age we feed them basing on size/body weight and so any pig above 25kgs can start using silage and even those younger as long as the silage is made well and it’s not used as the only feed. They are good to go.
