Ours has a slightly crooked spine from birth. We have a lot of special needs in our house. We got a tremendous discount on him and wellness checks but we’ve been assured he’s healthy otherwise and it shouldn’t really effect his health.
@Parrot family tv my 6-week old baby Congo is so sweet and snuggly and just wants to be loved all the time - he’s my first grey, are all the babies like this? I’m dying to know if he’s just been born with a sweet nature or if he’ll soon grow out of it.
@@TibsPlays Ours is also sweet and cuddly. However, we were told to randomly snuggle and have days of very little snuggling so that he doesn’t grow up feeling entitled. It can lead to plucking issues when they are grown if they are use to you holding then all the time and being with them and then one day you’re not. Our breeder said for a really healthy grey you should mix it up a lot. Don’t stick to a routine and then he won’t be upset on days that you’re busy. I will say it’s so hard not to hold him all day though. :)

I wish we had stores like these. If i want a stand for my parrot I have to order it from abroad and the shipping is as much as the stand itself.
Omg yes the shipping on those must be insane
But the stand from stores may have been used by another bird, maybe one carry some dread disease, so Internet orders are likely safer. 🦜
@@spiritmatter1553 Yeah maybe but at least here the stores don't have any birds there, you have to order them from breeders. And shipping from Germany to where I live it like 150 euros for a small one.
@@Emilia-uq3ph Ah, I didn’t even ask where you’re located. Well, otherwise, there are some DIY tutorials online for building your own stand at home, if you have a few basic tools 🛠 and some sort of hardware store/lumberyard for raw materials.
It kills me there aren't places like this close to me! Doesn't matter, though. I will drive however far I have to on order to spend time with birds! Just a few short months until I can start seriously thinking about getting a bird myself!
I got two cockatiels but had the same thing. We have a so called bird island but the birds are in huge cages so you cant interact. Almost all birdstores have the birds in seperate tiny cages 😢
Ikr there is one pet shop near me BUT ALL THE BIRD STUFF IS ABSOLUTE TRASH AND SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE! So we have to drive about 45 minutes to get our birds what they need
@@kiwidabirdy4053 The first time I ever got to hold a bird, it was at a store a four hour drive from my house... Totally worth it! The rescue I'm hoping to adopt through is about three hours away, but I am more than willing to go that far!

As much as I love Macaws, (especially the babies) I couldn't ever get one.
I was very surprised to see a blue headed Pionus there though! They are my dream bird and I have been researching them for about two years now!
Wow what an amazing bird store! If there were stores like that around me, I’d never leave, or go home with everything! Stores near me are always more cats/dogs/fish etc and birds section is so small, and they’re in tiny show cages. Had to stop going to them because every time I saw a bird in those I felt so bad and went home with them. Got 4 birds that way lol. But I love them all and they’re all happy. No regrets. They enjoy all the toys I got them off parrot station recently btw. 😉

Oftentimes the birds that are out belong to Kim the owner of the shop or her workers. I know because I got my babies from there, and I use to regularly patronize the store when I lived in So. Cal.

It breaks my heart seeing macaws with no feathers when it older and seeing this baby i hope it finds it loveing forever home like i dont inderstanx if your going to get a brid care for it buy it toys give it love dont buy it enjoy it fir a month then decied to neglect it just to pluck its feathers sorry it just makes me so sad
That's why people shouldn't support pet stores like this one and instead support rescues...

@@nataliamartinez7043 please google search the perfect parrot and note that there is nothing about the adoption of birds only information about the sale of birds because this is a pet store and not a rescue. Then please educate yourself on the exotic bird trade and how buying birds from shops like this contributes to major problems.
@@ColdSaturday you do understand right that there not gonna put it on pet store I doubt you would put in on your CZcams if your going to rescuer and I have actually done my research I was going to adopt a bird but choose not to for a certain reason and be honest where else would someone get a bird from because it very hard to get an exotic bird in good conditions and matter of fact when I called about a certain bird this store here said we are not selling them at the moment because they were rehabilitating some birds and here these birds are treated so good having documents about there health and where they came from and so much more
@@nataliamartinez7043 You do understand that you yourself even said they are indeed a pet store? If you love birds so much don't support the industry that profits from cruelty of them. That is all I can say. Baby birds are cute and of course in good condition but where do they come from? Their parents are often smuggled into the country under cruel conditions in order for you to have that perfect hand raised baby bird. You are indirectly supporting cruelty and should educate yourself as I have already said. Also, I am 100% sure there are bird rescues in California with great birds waiting for great homes and your money spent towards adoption actually goes towards helping these creatures.

After watching this video, it makes me want to drive across town to the one little bird store in my city. I can’t have a bird, but it’s so much fun going there and talking to the adorable feathered babies.

I have an African Grey and an Amazon Blue Front. Great companions just an unforgiving treasure. Both nearly 30 years old, still very strong, be ready for the commitment. I had a Macaw for a free trial and no cost. Two days I gave it back, LOUDER than you could ever believe.

I was at Perfect Parrot around 10 years ago (before I moved to Phoenix) and also hit that concrete barrier with my car door too.

It was kind of fascinating to see you teaching people who don't know much about birds how to pick them up and put them down. It always seemed like a no-brainer to me. I guess it's something that I innately understood and I didn't realize that wasn't obvious! Things like making sure the bird is parallel to the perch or keeping the bird lower than the perch if you want them to step down... Very interesting!
It is, I forget how there are peyote that have never interacted with birds but at the same time I have to explain it often

Omg I want a young CAG MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD!!!! 😭😭😭 I feel like I've been waiting for forever now I swear ughh .. There ain't crap up in the North Idaho part of the country!! I had to re-home my parrots during an ugly divorce, cuz I was forced to move into an apt. at the time and none in the area allowed pets. I was heartbroken and alone with my son at the time & didn't know anyone up here either. Everyone I knew was down in Ventura, Ca. Where I lived the first 35yrs of my life and still miss it to this day ... As I'm freezing my butt off up here as we speak!! But anyhow, my divorce was 7yrs ago already and I still have zero pets!💔 I've never lived with no animals in the house and never wanted to ever have to either. So ya it has totally sucked and has caused such deep depression that could've been avoided if I had even just one pet during these very hard & lonely years! I was a married, stay at home mommy for 24yrs with my childhood boyfriend from 12yrs old and on lol .. Never in my life did I think he would turn so ugly in our divorce and the years after as well, just to get out of having a child support order, even though he never paid it, but still got his kid on the weekends! I foolishly let him have the house as well and stupidly didn't go after spousal support either, as I was just trying my best to keep the peace for our kids sake ughh... But never being on my own before & no real work exp & no help from anyone as well .... Boy was my life a living hell omg! In fact he was able to even hire a fancy attorney and get full custody of our then 12yr old son, being almost $10,000 behind in his child support payments too! All because I had zero money for my own attorney to fight it sadly! So that loser walked away with getting his unpaid dues erased and somehow I then owed him like $5,000 and he had full custody and parental rights to our youngest child who had always had his mommy around daily since birth!! 💔 That's how totally screwed up the state of Idaho is I swear on the Bible too!! He got everything they put down by default basically, because I couldn't draw up court forms & respond properly by any means and he knew that too, which was exactly why he did it... I was totally screwed period and nobody around to care one bit either, not even a loving pet to cry too and cuddle with!! Sadly to this day I only see my now 15yr old son a few times a year and he lives in the same town as I do too. I keep hold of the faith that someday God will take care of my ex-husband! Sooo, I try my very best to hold on to that belief and not allow all the deep hurt & anger consume me more than it already has. I will never stoop to such low places like he's done so many times. I am now a CNA and I work 3 - 12hr shifts a week for a home health agency. So when I'm not at work I'm always home and my 3, 12s are all night shifts too, from 8pm-8am..... Needless to say, I'm pretty much always home and very lonely... So, I think it's the perfect time for me to be a feathered mommy once again and for permanently too this time around!!
I use to have a male eclectus, a mulluccon cockatoo and I was also a Newfoundland breeder as well and was good at it too!! I had just one female and only bred her once a year for a total of 3 times and then spayed her. I was Bearpaw Newfs during those years and boy did I make some good money then lol, but worked very hard at it too. Thank God I was a vet tech for a few years in my early 20's before we married and had children...
Anyhow lol ..... I haven't the slightest clue as to what made me share all of this with you and on here, because I rarely ever talk about any of this with anyone lol!! 🥴 Tessa's I'm a blonde lol!! 😬 Maybe someone out there is needing to see this, so that they don't feel so alone, or whatever the case may be idk!?!?
Anyways lol🤓💗🤓 love you guys and please pray that I can soon find the perfect lil baby african gray that's meant to become my sweet new family addition!💗 It's so easy to see why so many people love animals more than humans!🤔🤷🏼
Wendy, I am sorry you went through such a nasty divorce and unfair settlement. I really believe good can come from your heartache. You sound very bright and possess initiative. I would love to start a company with individuals like you. Anyway, I couldn't help but read your story. I am not in the same situation, but I have had my share of trials and tribulation! One thing is for sure. Animals make everything better. I have to go. I'll explain later. I really will try to come back!

Hey marlene I have a Eastern crimson rosella which is about 6 months and I'm really struggling to train her when trying to teach her to step up and she bites. Im really trying to show my parrot how much i love her but is afraid of me. What should I do?

The intro was so cool
When people are close to most types of animals, they'll say they saw them. But when it's a parrot, they say they "met" them. It's usually obvious that the parrot is paying attention to a human who stops by as an individual.

I go to a bird store here in San Diego called 'Feathered Friends' they always have birds out to visit. I always want to take them all home!! Especially the babies they have in the nursery🤗🦜
