I work in a warehouse and someone rode the conveyor belt on their last day. Considering that it once ripped a dude's arm off, it was both brave and impressive.
Was it Amazon? Lol I had dreams about going down their slides on my last day
long but kinda funny story:
when i worked at my old company, the higher ups were implementing a new robot that would go around the warehouse and basically do the job that i was doing, and they had been giving me less hours for weeks prior and i couldnât figure out why. it was to get me used to not working as much because the robot was taking my job.
they ran a contest on what to name the robot and had everyone write down names anonymously and insert them into a bucket (you can already see where this is going)
i wrote down names like âstealy mcjobingtonâ âpaycheck pincherâ etc at LEAST 50 times. i had taken a handful of the cards home with me so nobody would see me writing them down and put them all in the bucket the next day. a week later we had a big employee meeting where the floor manager read some of the names and he picked up 4 of mine in a row and got HIGHLY upset. he said something along the lines of âi will figure out who wrote these inappropriate names and they will be terminatedâ
he never found out. i quit the following week after getting paid.

Working at the grill at McDonald's during the evening rush, I cooked my tie and hat and served it to my boss, and went surfing. My first job.

Back when I worked for an answering service, we had the misfortune to get a new office manager. It was her mission to get rid of all the longtime employees.... probably so they could new employees for less money. She had a habit of suspending others for the slightest infraction...then sacking them the second they returned. So when I was suspended for 3 days, I didn't let the moss grow...I hit the pavement with my resume....And found a better job that payed more! So...when I returned, it was to pick up my things before I could be called into that woman's office. Got my stuff and said goodbye before she knew I quit...
My mom once quit a comedy club she was waitressing at. Her boss was being rude and keep talking down at her and she was the only waitress that night. She asked the manager if he could help, but he said that she is a waitress, she can do it on her own. She had enough and grab a beer out of the bar and people would ask for help, she would say sheâs not their waitress anymore. Safe to say, her boss didnât like it and had to do all the work.
Itâs not as exciting as some of these, but I think it still fits.

I quit a job once by running away. I started my day as a housekeeper and was given 20 rooms to clean all day. And not one sheet to make a bed. I was so frustrated that I had my friend park in the back with an extra shirt and I got changed in the car and left my stuff in the hallway. One of the other employees messaged me later that day asking why I left a note saying I quit⊠I didnât leave a note. Someone else also quit at the same time and put the note on the cart and stuff I was supposed to be using but had left. Someone was trying to leave a note to let someone know that they were quitting but I had already quit so the note they left they thought was from me đ.

@@gagegogan4062 ~~ I wouldnât say itâs a good source, I think an employer can contact Glassdoor or Indeed and get a bad review removed. It shouldnât be like that. I am talking about completely independent place
If it was widely known who the bad employers were, they wouldn't be in business. And it changes year to year as management a ventures come and go.
@@samsonsoturian6013 exactly, that is my whole point. Every employer would know: mistreating their employees can get them on the board of shame, so no one will ever work for them again. Which, it it's turn, would make job market ultimately a better place

The dude that got fired from my job last year got mad and took the part of our machine that turns it on and took it home with him. We now have to leave the machine and tap wires together to get it on đđđ
Quitting should be a quiet and dignified process. Burning bridges is never good, but what do I know? Iâm a Gen Xâr and have been in the workforce for 35 years. As an employer, I canât tell you how many times someone has quit on bad terms only to come back begging for their job. I wish them luck, but no reference, and no rehire.
once you quit a job, I think it is difficult to go back to it.working at a place should be a dignified process as well.
I worked for this place called Elite Water once, and I was so stressed out by them and the other things going on in my life, I came up with a plan to quit by blowing my brains out in front of the boss's office. Luckily my wife found out and convinced me to just quit like a normal person and get some therapy. Definitely get therapy first, if you ever feel this way.

For the JetBlue one, I treated them really well on my flight yesterday. When I saw this, I was glad I did.
We need references from managers! They usually want at least 3 for a potential employee so it's only fair.

If I end up getting a dead end job, I'm gonna quit by reading the entirety of My Immortal while Ride of the Valkyries plays full blast, and finish it by screaming something in Japanese.
Unfortunately if you get a reputation for quitting in bizarre ways .. other future employers might think youre nuts and not hire you figuring they might do the same to them.
You don't necessarily talk about it during interviews, you just say why you left.

How I quit my boring, toxic, crazy job? I disappeared, ignoring all phone numbers and moving back home without telling them. And note I was on call constantly and working 70 hours a week so I finally felt like my hard work was appreciated when the calls piled up.
It was a great video, but I was disappointed when there wasnât actually anyone who blew up their office with a Molotov Cocktail.

I tried to quit but every time I told a manager they would say no we need you.
They cannot make you stay. It is at-will employment. This means you can quit for any reason at any time. If you really do not want to work there anymore, write your 2 weeks notice and hand it to a boss/manager. They cannot make you stay, you can leave anytime you want to. It is all your choice, not theirs.

It at my school were useless and had no idea what they were doing. I'm not sure if they even spoke English properly. They always gave out broken laptops or never bothered charging them even the students were able to do it. No matter how many times our teacher charged them and gave them back in good condition, she was never given the same courtesy.
I realize that 50% of people quit their job because they hate the rules.

I really think that 80% of bosses are just horrible. I donât know why it is but My husband and I are young and all of our friends too, and we are ALWAYS swapping stores of horrible bosses. Within the last year we both got jobs with really great bosses and are happy as can be! But man, weâve had some wackos to work for!! I wish everyone would do this kind of stuff, maybe lower income jobs would finally have some better bosses.

While it's good to approach quitting jobs creatively, you really shouldn't do it in outrageous ways unless you want bad references or to get arrested
If the boss is a pita he won't give you a good reference no matter what you do

I just stopped showing up right after i ordered 10 000 sets of tables and chairs into a sister location that was been cleared for demolision. So many pieces of furniture wasted.
