Caeser: NO!!!!!
It was so impactful when I saw it in theaters!
Giving Malfoy the Heston line... and following it with that. Such a shocking moment... it makes us all feel exactly like any human would hearing an ape speak for the first time. The impact can't be overstated.
Hell yea I’ll never forget that moment 😂
Absolutely - there was laughter, and I was rolling my eyes at the hamhanded insertion of the "Damned dirty ape!" line... and then they hit us with *that*
I remember my whole theater lost their collective shit when it happened.
Interesting that you guys caught on the differences between Ceasar and the scarred ape, Koba. The dynamic between them actually goes deep into the nature vs nurture arguement.
Ceasar is a chimpanzee, who are known for being unpredicably violent and extremely cutthroat with their own kind. They brutally punish those who step out of line or are a liability to the troop. But because of Ceasar's human upbringing, he's learned things like grief, mercy, and remorse. As shown, he tries to avoid killing humans and uses a sort of diplomacy to gain authority over his fellow apes. He's grown past his nature of a chimp.
Koba, on the other hand, is a bonobo. They're the complete opposite of chimpanzees. Their social structure is based on the power of friendship and empathy, hence you rarely see violence within their own ranks. But because of Koba obviously brutal upbringing due to his scars (never shown in the film, he was an abused circus ape most his life before being used in clinical trials), he's gained a very chimp-like impulse to kill. He relished killing Jacobs in the chopper and didn't hesitate on jumping Will. His bonobo nature was not only altered, but rewritten entirely.
an often overlooked part of the movie
@@crazyirish209 More like audiences are generally unaware of such details.
Fun fact: Icarus was the name of the ship in the original planet of the apes. Nice little Easter egg.
Oh, didnt a newspaper said they got lost.. so cool 🤫
@@solomiguex There was a brief news clip about Icarus launching. Later on there was a newspaper headline Lost In Space.
Additionally “Bright Eyes” is a reference to the original film and the line take your stinking paw off me you damn dirty ape right before Caesar says no is another nod to the original.
@@bluecollartradesman715 I noticed the stinking paw line but not the others one till I read you, so cool.
Not only Easter egg, also explanation of how ape evolved and downfall of humanity ............. so it's canon to 1968 original
Fun Fact: Ceaser is played by legendary motion capture actor Andy Serkis, who also played King Kong in the 2005 remake
And Gollum... and MANY others.
And Klau in Black Panther.
Yes and the Jungle Book remake and Captain Haddock in the New Adventures of Tin Tin! He's also a brilliant director and a really polite and friendly man.
You can usually tell it's him because an element of his face is kept - mainly his eyes.
He owns a massive motion capture studio near where I live in London. It's incredible in there! I almost had to be dragged out last time 😁🇬🇧
What a legend 😃
He should’ve gotten an Oscar
Andy Serkis killed this role!!! It’s one thing to play a creature… but to give that creature character, that’s something else
“NOOO!”
That line is the best in the film, when Cesar speaks for the first time and it’s him fighting back, it just gives me goosebumps every time. I heard that when this came out and this scene came along, nearly everyone in the theatres went dead silent
One of the best trilogies of the last decade and one of the best reboots/reimaginings ever. As much as I think the sequels are better, I feel like this gets underrated by comparison. I thought it did an excellent job setting up the films while also having an excellent story on its own seeing Caeser rise from a mere ape with intelligence to a leader.
I love all three of these movies!💜🦧💜🐒💜🦧💜
Reboot? I always thought of The Rise, the Dawn, the War, and the (incoming) Kingdom as a prequel series of the original *Planet of the Apes* like Episode 1-3 of Star Wars.
And Kingdomof the Planet of the Apes comes out next month. So not sure if that is the start of a new trilogy.
@Renegade2786 definitely a reboot, but leading up to events that might have some similarities with the original movies. The original movies were the major inspiration
@@Renegade2786that’s what I was thinking/hoping for myself!
32:27 ...Back in 2011 when the movie came out, I was on the cinema watching in a room filled with people. Throughout the movie so far, there were the typical noises you expect to have there (you know, coughs, sneezes, a quick quiet comment here and there), but when THIS scene happened, the whole room reacted the same way you guys just did.
Imagine, a room with 50+ people, all holding their breaths in awe at the same time... That's when you know this is THE moment.
I wish i was old enough to see this movie in cinemas (i was only 5 when it was released)
@@abc.animal5143I highly recommend checking out movies from 1990-2000. Best era in modern cinema.
This was always much better than it should have been. I didn't expect to like it when it came out. I like the original movies, and thought, how could they do something like this..... but then it worked.
I can't stress how special this movie is to me. It was my first big theater reaction. When Caesar spoke, the whole theater when dead-silent. It was like our souls had left our bodies, and for those few seconds of silence, we felt like the inferior species humans are destined to become in this franchise, and I broke the silence with a loud, "YES!"
😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Same for my viewing, except I cackled immediately before because "You damn dirty ape!" was what Charlton Heston's first words were to the intelligent apes after he could speak again in the original 1968 movie.
That “Nooooooo!” just blew all of us in the cinema away - there were audible gasps!
“Caesar is home” gets me every time 😢
The formula didn't enhance aggression or anything.
Ceasar attacked the neighbor partially cause his father was being threatened, but also because he was having a lot of frustration and confusing emotions at learning that his mother was an experiment, and unsure where he fit in the world.
basically the plot of Deep Blue Sea. messing with sharks to cure Alzheimer's, which made them extremely intelligent
Was looking for this comment, it’s the same plot goal but more reasonable. You seriously going to get the right stuff out of a glorified carnivorous fish to treat human brains, or get it from our closest living relative species?
Similar but not the same. Ceasar never tried to harm humans, except that ass in the third movie
6:03 - Rude? Tough? He created the disease that gives Apes memory- but kills almost every single person in the world. 😂
Love this movie!
I saw this in the theater with my brother and we loved it!
It's a lot better than the 2001 Tim Burton reboot, which was not well received by critics or fans of the original film.
When Burton was asked if he would direct a sequel, he said, "I rather jump out of a 10 story window than work on another APES movie."
Andy Serkis with another killer role and mo-cap performance. All these movies are really good and I definitely suggest watching the next two.
This prequel series is so freaking good!!
*_This Trilogy of Ape movies is most likely the best trilogy in movie history: Not only is this movie excellent, but the next two sequels are just as good if not better!_*
3 isn’t great imo
Hands down one of the best trilogies of all time.
CGI was so well done it still holds up really well today.
The original Planet Of The Ape movies from the 60s and 70s actually look way better IMO, no CGI
@@LexyThomas134 well ya, that's because they were practical costumes. They could.out as much detail in them as they wanted.
@@Berto2K Yeah, I know, that's what made it better IMO like I said haha no CGI, so it was as real as possible.
@@LexyThomas134 thats great and all, but has nothing to do with the quality of the CGI back then they were able to get..
I watched my poor wife’s mother succumb to dementia a couple years back. It’s a hard thing to watch someone you love go through knowing there’s nothing you can do about it. I hope anyone who reads this doesn’t go through anything like that but if so my heart goes out to you.
PS: Icarus is the name of the rocket from the original Planet of the Ape with Charlton Henson as one of the astronauts.
12:59 Caesar gave that dog the “fuck around and find out” scream.
Lmfao factssssss
I hope you all intend to watch Dawn of the planets of the apes and War for the planet of the apes right behind this one because the 4th one is coming out next month.
Yeah they said, they are watching the other two right after this..just going to knock them all out.
You were right about the virus spreading. The angry neighbor was a pilot and he was at the airport when he started to succumb and his destination was NYC, the setting for the original Apes (giving a nod to it in turn). And the 112 is the runtime for the original Apes.
Omg wtf, they actually watching thisss!!😁 my fav trilogy all time!!!!
The second movie is one of the best movies made. Just so well put together. Fine film.
Cesar is a chimpanzee which are known for being extremely brutal while Koba the smaller black one with the scar is a Bonobo which is known to be very nice and chill.Meant to show its your environment that makes who u are not your genetics
Andy Serkis did a phenomenal job playing Caeser in this trilogy. He conveyed so much emotion with just his facial expressions, great motion capture work.
Great movie, one of my favourites. John Lithgow is just amazing in that role, and as for David Hewlett? Brilliant. Keep up the great work on this series of movies.
Ah Yes! the reboot that started it all. From Rise all the way to Kingdom!
Not a reboot 😅 prequel. Now Kingdom or it's sequel may be a reboot
Rise, Dawn, War & Kingdom are not connected to The Original Films.
You probably didn't get the reference but when they showed the footage of the rocket going into space, that was a nod to the original Planet of the Apes. And later on you see a newspaper with the front page headline that read, LOST IN SPACE? That wasn't just a reference. It was a tease. That's going to be a plot point for the next movie. They had this planned all along. Amazing. Here we are, 13 years later.
I hope y’all plan on watching all 3 before the movie next month. This is hands down one of the best trilogies ever made. Andy Serkis is the God of MoCap. All Hail Caesar!!
Me too thar are all great!!!
Damn, y’all gonna love this trilogy. One of the best 👌
when you see the original, its nice to the little nods to it that this movie has. it seemed like a more respectful retelling than that weird Markie Mark remake was to the point that this trilogy could logically lead into the Charlton Heston movie with little effort.
But the Charlon Heston MUST be watch first, ANYWAY.
I can not wait to see the new movie, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, in May. I haven't been this hyped for a movie in a long time.
Great reaction Gentlemen, I was getting hyped along side with you as if I was watching this for the first time again
Let's gooooo Ape looking forward to this and I'm sure we will all have fun 😁
Yo!! Yall have to watch the other 2! One of the best trilogies ever! Hail Cesar!
Edit: it’s not about aggression apes are wild animals with natural instincts & social structures. They are much less aggressive than humans in hindsight.
Fun fact! The film has a deleted scene where it shows his father chasing after the poachers to save Caesars mother and being shot. It’s a bit dark but I think it showed how smart his mom was avoiding the traps and how loyal and tenacious his father was, ntm how brave he was
I hope you guys do the other two. This series only gets better as it goes on.
They mentioned they are going to watch the next two next. So definitely looking forward to those posts.
thank you for your reaction.. looking forward to the second and third, I’m sure you will be shocked and very impressed! Caesar is my favorite character, his voice, eyes and mind ❤️🔥

Amazing movie love the video octokrool stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
21:22 is such an underrated sad part of the movie
He watched the kids playing ball out of his window his whole life
Bro just wanted to play kickball
Just knew I would love seeing you two react to this. Most fun time ever
Thank you so much for reacting to this one because it's one of my absolute favourite trilogy of all time and the new one is coming soon so excited
love your reaction
I'm sorry. But when they turn the hose on the one asshole dude, it gets me everytime. That sizzle sound...I can't help it. 😂
I know a lot of people here are already mentioning the "NOOOO" in this movie but that moment is so crucial I would have to put it in my top 10 most crazy scenes in cinema everyone in the movie theater knew it was coming they knew he was going to talk they didn't know what he was going to say but they knew he was going to say something and when he finally spoke you could hear a pin drop in the theater it is incredible filmmaking.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Planet Of The Apes movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Out of all these prequel movies of planet of the apes. This one is great! Great reaction
16:16 ...Between this scene and the end of Return of the King where Gollum bites off Frodo's finger, Andy Serkis has a thing about biting off index...
Not sure if you guys will even see my comment but thank you for your reactions! You guys are such cuties and love your humor! I’ve been in the ICU and your videos are the main thing getting me through it ❤️
We see everything and I'm glad we can help you through this hard time, hope you get better soon! 😁
20:12 There he is, the Ape version of Magneto.
You’re not wrong. Magneto was a holocaust survivor and Caesar’s journey is meant to parallel the book of Exodus where Moses guides his people to the promised land. Koba would be one of the Jews that Moses was guiding.
grew up watching it and love it
hope you watch the other two, these are amazing
"NOOOOO!"
"HIS DRIIIIIIIP!"
Imma be laughing at that all day 🤣
This, The Dark Knight, and The Godfather are my 3 favorite trilogies
"Rise, ape, rise!" HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!
Perhaps the most surprisinglygreat movie, ever
Having no expectations before makes it even better
I saw this in a theater when it was new and found it surprisingly excellent.
I can't wait! GET WATCHING!
I’m seeing so many reactions to this movie be uploaded recently and it’s making me mad that they haven’t already reacted to the rest of the trilogy 😅
I just became a fan of you guys, movie smart and funny! good jobs fellow apes.
the start of an amazing saga!
Been my favorite trilogy for ages, I used to ask for it all the time, glad to see the following is growing further
P.S. you guys nailed the sequel in a sense, and it's either nuts or sus
Great reaction! But the Father didn't die cause of the more aggressive version of the 1-12, he died because his system found a way to fight the original version he gave him and Caeser's Mother so when he wanted to give his Father the newer one, he told him not to. The people who were exposed to the revised 1-12 were coughing blood.
The way Caesar pounced quickly like a cheetah from the bushes caught me completely by surprise
Love this trilogy 🔥 and good reaction from y’all 💯
You gotta watch part two ,part two is the best one ❤
Once they started having actual conversations that’s when i was done with these movies lol it just became super silly
I love this series. Andy Serkis did an awesome job as Caesar
Man o man this is a all time classic and hope you guys watch the other two dawn and war super bad ass and super awesome
Brian Cox played the original Hannibal Lector, in Michael Mann's "Manhunter". Amazing movie, pretty forgotten.
43:19 Oh wow they did mention him
So hyped they’re starting this trilogy.
I stop everything to watch this 😳💯
Please watch the next 2 because the next one releases on May 10th can't wait gonna watch this now
This one is really good and I highly recommended watching all of the original 5 because they really are a head of their time. Rise of the Planet of the Apes is basically Conquest on Steroids. One of the few occasions where the 4th installment is the best!
The Icarus launch was a link/homage to the original Planet of the Apes movie, as it was the Icarus that landed on the "Alien World" rulled by intelligent apes which was revealed at the end of the movie to be Earth.
About time you watched these
Especially considering its about your relatives 😂
Oh yeah you guys this is a franchise I wanted you guys to react to and also react to Chucken run,Nimona and the mummy!
All hail the great CAESAR💚
This is an amazing trilogy, Caesar💚 is the best!!! ...love him to bits, hes a way better leader then most human leaders today. Hope u react to the other two.Caesar only bit the finger, it was still attached so that mean neighbour was lucky.
Notice after all hes been through, Caesar has no first instinct or intention to kill humans or hurt people, just to free his apes. He never even killed the nasty Draco, he killed himself out of stupidity. Also the apes didnt kill any innocents, they just trashed a few offices and scared people tbf. You can see how heartbroken Caesar was to reject his human dad after he turned his back, its clear how hard it was for him & he continued using his window as his symbol on street signs afte r escaping. I always root for the apes, animals are true to their nature, & we betray ours.
Also, Caesar can be infected again, so he also get even smarter when inhaling the 1.13 virus too, plus Caesar is way more intelligent since he had a proper human childhood education from Will.
Caesar has never been overly aggressive, he just was protective of his Grandpa & has bad experiences with that neighbour.
Hi thanks for reacting to Rise of the planet f the apes trilogy. I hope you’ll watch Dawn and War after this one because if you like this one they raise the bar to another level with the next two. I adore the planet of the apes reboot starring Andy Serkis as Caesar. I adore Rise, Dawn and War and i adore Caesar. He’s outstanding as a character. All three films are masterpieces to me and i went to the cinema back in the day to see all three and still watch them all at least once every week. This riley is criminally underrated and unappreciated by many because it’s about apes. I can’t wait to see the new one Kingdom of the planet of the apes when it hits on 10th may 2024. The trailers look amazing and i already have a fave ape from it and i haven’t even seen it yet just the trailers. He’s called Noa and he’s a descendant of Caesar’s. Please continue this trilogy you’ll be blown away with Caesars story. Take care 😘🏴 ##TeamCaesar ❤️ #ApesTogetherStrong ❤️ #TeamNoa (Kingdom)
Love this movie series. So awesome.
“ HE’S GOT A KNIFE ! “ 😂
I love your video's!
now we need the second one
What A Wonderful Day!!!!!😎
"Whoa, we get Pants?!"
Lmao
Love this film happy you guys got to it. I will also like you guys to do a reaction on Kingpin with Woody Harrison. I think you guys have a good laugh.
You guys are such a W
Been enjoying your reactions, this may be my favorite one yet lol.
whole trilogy is great , the og films good too
If you watch the originals, Icarus was the name of the spaceship. I watched all of the films when I was a kid in the 70s and 80s, but went back and watched them again. Everyone here should see them since it is looking like all of these films are going to be precursor to the originals. So, if you want to understand the story more...
It’s about damn time!
31:09 this scene right here references the first planet of the apes movie
32:21 another reference to the original movie, "get your stinking paws off you damn dirty ape(s)"
I'm sure you figured this out already, but I just wanted to point out that the guy who said that line "damn dirty ape" he plays draco Malfoy
33:12 oh yeah, I forgot the hose, but was also from the original movie
I hope you guys saw the End Credits before the second and credits
38:43 I fall from that height would kill a man even if they weren't in a helicopter the water would be like concrete so… Yeah, no chance he's coming back
Yassss love this trilogy so much
Best movie reaction channel ever.
10:24 The baseball bat neighbour is David Hewlet, and as canadians you guys should have watch CUBE a long time ago - it’s the law 🇨🇦
ITS AN APE!!
