    Very good review as always! I've been looking at Rio Bravo and was very close to buying one. But so happy watched this and will wait for Derya instead. I got Derya TM22 with several 25 round magazines and it would be so convenient to use those mags on a lever action rifle! Thanks a lot!

    Nice video. I also own one, and the review is still on my channel. I’m currently using aperture sights by TechSights along with a laser/flashlight under the barrel. One caveat-early on, I experienced two rounds blowing up in the chamber. Turns out the firing pin was hitting so hard (and long) that it punched a hole in the .22 rim. I removed the firing pin, sanded it nice and smooth (it’s rectangular, not pointed)-so it took off any burr or unevenness, plus slightly shortened the pin. Have not had a failure since. FWIW….

    I have one of these as of last week, and I've put a Bushnell trs 25 on it instead of a scope. Since I've seen how it looks with your grip on it, I'll be putting one on mine because I dig the aesthetic. Now to find a sling to complete the system!

    Good for space cowboy, but if you want a better lever gun in 22 and atleast in my area, cheaper then 500, I'd get a Henry 22 lever gun. In my area I've seen them go for 399, which to be honest bein a henry, that's hard to beat.

    The Rossi is basically a cheaper copy of the Henry 22, still an ok little gun and the Henry 22 is a copy of the Ithaca lever action 22 which I think Henry bought the rights to, the Henry is the nicest one out of the 3. I have a Henry 22 with an octagon barrel, really nice gun.

    How to we get Henry X 30 30 into your hands for review

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  Před rokem +1

      I haven't given much thought on this TBH. I have thought about companies sending rifles in for review (in which they would never have any say on the content of the review). I'll keep this mind and we'll see what happens once I'm in Calgary.
      Specifically on 30-30, I really don't think I'll be reviewing that. It's just far too expensive a round for me to do any reviews. I have developed a rule in my head, if the ammo is more than $1 per round, I will not review it. So a .357 is absolutely in the ballpark to review.

    • @tidor1
      @tidor1 Před rokem

      .357 is a good compromise. Looking forward to that review. In the meantime, the rossi review hits the spot for us space cowboys.

    • @bats8888
      @bats8888  Před rokem +1

      One day I will do an actual space cowboy rifle review, but I can't make any promises of when exactly that will be.

    If it can bench-rest around 1-MOA at 50 meter I might be interested. Otherwise ... ?

    • @clinnyboy
      @clinnyboy Před 10 měsíci +1

      That's not a reasonable expectation for this style of gun regardless of who manufactures it. If you want to spend 200.00 more on a cz you're welcome to. I've shot a few savage heavy barrel rifles with decent scopes and match ammo that couldn't keep 1 MOA. Are there non target guns that have done it? yes but they are the very big exception not the rule.

    • @L.V-Rider
      @L.V-Rider Před 10 měsíci

      @@clinnyboyI have a Winchester 9422 with a 4-12 scope on it and when bench-rest with CCI standard velocity it regularly do 12mm to 18mm at 50 meter, and the best was a 5 shot cloverleaf of 7mm with CCI, that is .54 MOA. Often flyers will ruin the group. With SK standard, S&B subsonic and others it will regularly do 1 MOA to 1.5 MOA but without the flyers, often better. Longer distance like 100 meter it open up more and do 1.5 MOA to 2 MOA and cannot compete with target rifles. I know of others that also do it. I saw Browning BL22 as well as Henry do the same.
      So, 1 MOA at 50 is reasonable for this style of gun if you get a good example, but not all will do it.

    • @clinnyboy
      @clinnyboy Před 9 měsíci

      @@L.V-Rider You're making my case for me; I quote " if you get a good example, but not all will do it." All of the guns you mentioned doing it are multiple hundreds of dollars more and I've had 3 Henry's that wouldn't do it. As I said "are there non target guns that have done it? Yes but they are a very big exception not the rule. Sounds kinda the same as what you've said.

      @@clinnyboy Jip, we can play with words to say the same thing.
      Thing is, You said "not a reasonable expectation", with your reasons. I said "reasonable" because some will do it and therefore "reasonable". So it is making my case as well.
