  • The Mini Moke is an iconic cult car built on a mini frame originally designed for military use but then marketed to the general public as a fun utility vehicle. Edd inspects the Moke that Drew bought and replaces the underpowered radiator as well as fixing some rust found on the undercarriage.

    Mini Moke, My name is David J. Alt and I live in Finksburg, Maryland. I just bought a 1965 Austin Moke from London England. Mine is Forest Green, has New 998cc engine, new top, original wheels, no doors, no windows, no heater, and no radio. I drove one 28 years ago on the island of Barbado's as a rental vehicle. They are Neat and Fun to drive. Thanks David J. Alt

    Mike: do part of the program as it has been done and call Edd to do a part of the program in England, it would be great from time to time to take Edd to California to exchange tips with Ant. It would be really great, best of both worlds!! Cheers from Brazil!!

    Good example of a Moke. Anyway, no need to change the cooling system with anything electrical, just keep the system clean and flush and you can run de car under extreme climates with no problem whatsoever.

    Edd, use weld thru primer on the inside box panels, then follow with a cavity wax. Very surprised you omitted those 2 very important steps.

      There are NO box sections on a Moke, the two side units house the fuel tank and the battery, tool well.. Only UK and Australian Mokes rust, Portuguese ones have galvanised chassis.

    I know it is a TV programme, but given Mike has been in the motor trade for many years, but does he really know eff all about mokes ? The white bull bar and sunraysia wheels have to be factory standard, otherwise he would reduce the value. I don't mind this blue but I prefer the metallic blue of the "Californian" model from Australia, with the 1275 motor, again standard in that configuration - was this one resprayed ? I was amazed at the lack of rust, sea-side Sydney salt air was a killer. Personally I did not like the white roof tho'

    Why does edd never touch up ratty parts, wire wheel rust converter paint. Some obvious parts he does but not all - they are just going to get worse

    I had a Moke in the late 1970’s. It was a nightmare. I bought it brand new and within five miles it broke down., and kept breaking down until I sold it about two years later. A true POS. Don’t let the cheeky looks suck you in!

      @garethjones8047 Před 3 lety +2

      @@groovejet33 well this is only my opinion, but I will say it anyway. Mike is a gobby wanker, too big for his boots, and as a mechanic myself for 25 years, I know that he knows fuck all about cars. But that's not to say I'm totally on Ed's side, because I'm not. Ed was actually just a TV presenter. He had very little to do with the actual mechanical bits that were portrayed in the television programme. The real mechanic was actually paul, you know, the guy they would supposedly take out of the cupboard every now and again? It all makes good TV but none of it is actually real. Mike doesnt actually buy the cars and Ed didnt actually fix them.

      Did they stuff Paul into a suitcase when they flirted off to USA? Lol
      Ohh well....we cud all.go around in circles , defending & snagging off each of them. I may be naive?? But I liked them both..mind you! Everything in moderation of course? Cos i can get sick of people and things very fast.
      But cheers....good comments there

      @garethjones8047 Před 3 lety +2

      @@groovejet33 No, They didnt put him in a suitcase, he had already gone because he didnt like the way the show was heading. I do actually have all of this on very good authority. Sorry to piss on your chips, you obviously believe everything that goes on inside the TV screen. The show was about getting viewing figures for a Production Company, it was nothing to do with any love for cars, even the people who supposedly turned up to purchase the cars were actors. 25 years experience also tells me that nothing that was getting done here was real world stuff.
