I remember the day I bought "Reckoning Night" and said to myself "omg, these guys are one step ahead of every power metal band out there"...
Now it´s completely different...
Jack Napier they are different,but man try making the same power metal songs forever it must be boring..bands must change their style to evolve their sound.
Alejandro Enmanuel Cabrera Contreras so many people out there are cherishing Reckoning Night, even though it proved to be a lot different from Winterheart's Guild or Silence. For me, the transition to Unia wasn't that much of a shock, since Reckoning Night already had some of the elements (e.g. The Boy Who Wanted...). Long story short: yes, they have always been developing their sound and music 😉
when Jani was the guitar player and wrote some of the songs and lyrics, rip, now his band is pretty much better imho: Cains Offering
I brought that album too then. Actually, that was the last album I bought

My favourite concert that year, but I came to the gig knowing 2 songs of theirs, so I was there without all the baggage and grudges held by some oldschool fans ^^ I have a Right for example I absolutely adored.

Yeah, not their best gig. But what everyone seems to forget is that they were probably still recovering from the Ninth Hour tour which, in case you didn't know was 120 gigs in just 8 months. Seriously. I read an interview last year where Tony even stated that at one point of the tour he was almost ready to quit! There was some concert review from the short Winter Chapter tour where the writer said that despite Tony's voice problems (he was sick) the band seemed a lot happier and the set list was also great (Caleb saga and WPBO part I&II)

In the "faster" stage. People seem so bored in this one. What happened? This is not the kind of song set we expected from such an incredible Power Metal band .

They aren’t a band fixed and set on power metal though. They’ve said many times that they don’t really like to order themselves into a certain genre, their music is here and there and it’s just them individually. Many people seem to have a problem with that and I don’t really understand why. Does every single band need to be in the same exact genre for you?
EX - Power Metal Band....this is emo music, not even metal, I wishe they baned them from metal Festivals. Go to perform with Panic At the disco or My Chemical Romance....

Guys. If you wanna hear power metal, go listen to a power metal band. Don’t complain about a band that’s never really tried to fit into one specific genre anyways changing their style over the course of 20 damn years. Their new music may be different, but it’s still them, they’re not imitating anyone and you can hear it’s their own style even though the genre is different. If you don’t like it, that’s a matter of opinion - just don’t freaking listen to them.

Wow, there's STILL people whining about Sonata not being "2002 Sonata Arctica". Why are you guys still even here? Have any of you even been to one of their shows lately? Were you present in 2017 when they played "Abandoned, Pleased, Brainwashed, Exploited", "The Power of One" and "Misplaced" on their Ninth Hour tour? Or do you guys just watch crappy CZcams videos and based on that THINK you know how good/powerful the band is? Yeah, I'm also a bit annoyed with the Wacken setlist, specially with I Have a Right and Black Sheep, and this video is a terrible selection, but you guys hating have no idea of what you're even talking about. The band is as powerful as ever. Go to one of their actual live shows.

Que gente más quejosa, deberían dejar de meterse a ver cosas de ellos si solo van a hablar de canciones antiguas. Porque claramente le van a dar más relevancia a canciones de los últimos discos, la banda no tiene porque vivir solo de su pasado. Aparte ya dejaron claro que no son más una banda de "power metal" a lo cual no le veo lo malo. El último disco me ha encantado bastante. :)
pueden dejar de hacer power metal y hacer música buena igual.. Pero sus últimos discos son totalmente aburridos, se quedan a medio camino del power metal y el pop rock..

No es malo simplemente porque "a o x" persona le parezca aburrido, capas le dan mucha expectativa a los discos que están por venir, simplemente esperando que sea más de lo mismo. Está claro que muchos no saben lidiar con los cambios y es algo difícil para el músico darle el gusto a todo el mundo, lastimosamente.
