I drove one of these in the 70s. Hauled sand, gravel and grain. Also pulled dog trailers out to the road train hook-up area at Mingela. The engine sounds great, especially under load going up hills. Crackling exhaust notes. Roadrunner 613 transmission.
My friend had a D1000 Ford 16 ton tipper with one of these V8 Cummins engines,in the UK they were the most Gutless unreliable piece of Shit ever produced,he Never made a penny with that truck,I had a Dennis with a Perkins 6-354 engine fitted and it would run rings round that Cummins running at the same weight granted I had an Eaton 2speed Diff on mine effectively giving me 10 Gear Ratios. That Ford only had to look at a hill and it was game over. The National Coal Board ordered a fleet of the Cummins engined Fords but got shut of them because of reliability issues and costs. My friend eventually fitted a Perkins 510 V8 engine which wasn’t much better but at least it pulled well.
@@davidellis279 so true, they sounded kind of cool but we’re definitely gutless POS’s we ran Mack 237’s and 300’s they weren’t the biggest or baddest bud they’d run forever and sounded damn good doing it. Cheers 🍻 🇺🇸
@@deborahchesser7375 thing about Macks is that their power ratings were at the ground not the flywheel. Probably why they punched way above their ratings
Yes, I remember that I have traveled in those Dodge P900´s Buses. But it was a long long time ago when in my city was only one buses terminal. Traveling to Cali in a P900 from Flota Magdalena Linea Gacela, other time I was traveled with my parents to Cartagena in a Expreso Brasilia Blue Bird, the next time was a travel to Montería in a P900 from Rapido Ochoa. My elementary school who I had studied after I live in USA has a P900 from Servicol. Also I remember a P900 Bus who rode in Medellin streets and i ride on it to see a familiar, it was from Combuses and the route was named "Manrique La 45". This sounds in the streets, highways and Terminals have silenced forever. (Cummins Rocks!!)
in version dogde 600 there was gasoline version and diesel version, the diesel version was with cummins as this, for example in urban in bogota with superior and blue bird. this diesel engine sound was called drill
El D600 (taladro) tenía un Cummins 378 (V6 155) de 6.2 litros; éste es un 555 (triplenickel) V8 de 9.1 litros. El Dodge P900 traía un 504 (V8 210) de 8.3 litros.
I really love the sound of the cummins 555

Drove 2150B FL garbage trucks 555 cummins and allison auto in the 80s, man those were the days!
This thing sounds like 6.0 powerstoke when it’s at the top of its lungs.
Never heard one of those before, sounds good.
Nice to see an ACCO being driven by a competent professional.
Not trying to be rude but what are you referring to when you say this driver is competent and professional?
Oh what a glorious sound. I remember having a ride in a Ford D Series here in the UK with that V8 - lot of gear shifting needed but awesome sound!

Sounds almost exactly the same like Dodge P900 buses in Colombia in the 80s and 90s (Cummins 210 engines).

EARGASM! 😍
Sounds a bit too raspy for my taste in the higher RPMs.

Omfg amazing sound
Fucking brilliant mate.
Hermoso sonido del Cummins 155
Super!
Así sonaba el famoso bus de lujo intermunicipal p_900 en Colombia con motor cummins v_210
Is that an Acco 2150B ? I had one of those for several years in the 1990's the 555 was a good engine mine kept eating followers though
Id say there more unreliable than a 6.2 Detroit lol but that sound tho!
Sounds sorta like a 6.9 idi
K hermosura de motor quisiera algún día conseguirlo para una Dodge d-100 me encantan ese tipo de motor diésel V8 obviamente de Cummins
Start in a higher gear.... Like 3rd or 4th

That looks like ZiL 130.
It is an Australian International Acco.
How much horsepower and torque?
A very small amount!
225 hp
And a whopping 328 ft lb of torque. A 4-71. Detroit pulls better than these.
sounds kinda like scania v8 but totally different tone.... btw scania has lot more power with 15l v8 730hp.....
Kuntal Ghosh this is an acco accos are better than scanias.
3408 is bigger at 18l
Kta & qsk is bigger at 19l
