Unreal arm strength from Zac to be able to throw the bottle so high that it made it into space. Surely another Guinness world record broken at the same time
the scene of Zac scranning a Greggs sausage roll whilst monitoring his bottle in outer space is an image that our great great ancestors would've been so proud of
That was insane Zac!! The creative idea, figuring out how to dit and actually executing it, hats off brother 🙌 Really love your videos, keep up the energy & enthusiasm!
The air resistance will be lower in higher atmospheres meaning the bottle will have travelled faster if droped from space (until it was slowed down and heated up when it gets through the thicker air)
Well it's not dropped from space. Weather balloons go up to ~30km and officially space starts at 100km. From 30km you reach maybe mach1 until air density starts slowing you down so you don't really heat up at all. So a bottle dropped from 30km will hit ground about the same speed as one dropped from 300m.
I must have been hiding under a rock for a while as I've recently just discovered your channel. Your content is brilliant and the creative aspect is unmatched by others. Also your narration is great and you have a vibe that everyone will get on with. Loved the bike theif video where you really gave it to him 😆 🤣
that bit at the end was clever... im guessing when the bottom is weighted, and you throw the bottle more horizontally than vertical, you can almost guarantee that result. I bet the engineers realized that during testing and gave zac the idea, well played.
@@BoraCM fill up a bottle of water a quarter of the way. Throw the bottle more up than "out". Observe. Throw bottle more horizontally than vertically, observe. But even than, this really shouldn't be that hard to visualize.
@@DonaldPrizwan I’m sorry for my previous comment. I was very lazy with my thinking. You’re partially correct. The time of flight is proportional to the vertical component of the initial velocity of the bottle, so the angle of the bottle thrown doesn’t really matter, as long as the starting velocity is variable. The higher it goes from its start/end altitude, the more it will rotate, as long as there is a net moment on the bottle, which is the case, as people launch it from the bottle’s cap, and not from its centre of mass. In conclusion, you are correct that a bottle thrown at a smaller angle to the horizontal will have less of a chance to flip, but that’s only if the starting velocity is constant. However, you have a situation in which you can either throw a bottle up 3 metres and across 2, or up 2 metres and that’s it, the bottle that is thrown ‘more horizontally than vertical’ will have more flight time, and thus rotate more.
I literally just rewatched all the videos. While i love Zac to death i gravely miss the commradery that Jay brought to the videos....we still miss ya Jay. And i definitely miss the iconic "Zac and Jay Show" tune.
Question: When sending things into space, how does that take into count aircraft flight plans? I'm wondering if the expected flight path is submitted some place.
Normally a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) is produced saying that weather balloons are being released in a certain area with a certain radius around the release site. Pilots have to check these NOTAMs when flight planning to see if there are any hazards on their route, and most tend to actively avoid the area.
The only way for Zac to make a bottle filp is to drop a bottle from space with a devices because he's never been able to do that on earth by himself 😂❤️ we hope u happy now 😂❤❤❤
Hate to be that guy, but technically it never reached space. 35km above sea level is in the stratosphere which by definition is a layer of Earth's atmosphere. Outer space (or space) starts at around 80-100 km above sea level. Still, really cool project and enjoyable to watch 😄
06:56 The uber casual and nonchalant farts! You can tell they used methane to inflate the balloon. 😂 07:23 Even more casual farting, and banana eating lmao. "You just crack on mate." 🤣
I can't feel but disappointed that it isn't just a straight, standard bottle dropped from space. You'd need a lot of attemps, but eventually it could work
Okay so great video, but just clearing up, that the recognized border for space is at a height of 100km. Although almost all of the atmosphere was passed (due to most of the atmosphere being pulled to the ground with gravity), it's still not space. Props for the flip though, that was an awesome video!
