    Just a lil correction, WE are not to save their souls, T he Holy Spirit does that! We are called to proclaim Christ and him crucified, we plant seeds. Too many people think they have to persuade and seal the deal so they freeze in fear and don't try. I did that, so I know. Engage people in discourse and ask questions!

    Great discussion by these two brothers. I have gone straight to the plan of salvation with Jehovah's Witnesses and asked them do they teach the truth of Acts 2:38 and Mark 16:16. They believe baptism comes after salvation and not before.

      You couldn't be anymore wrong. You will cite the thief on the cross which was a different covenant. Being baptized is not a "Work" it is an act of obedience as we are commanded in Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38 and others. You make a claim about the lords church and then give no backing proof.

  • @roseannemaye9263

    No, no, no. Jesus did not empty himself. He made himself of no reputation which is completely different than emptying himself. That badly translated verse is what a false doctrine is built on! The false doctrine that Jesus supposedly was not fully God while he was on earth. Jesus didn't empty himself! He made himself humble...of no reputation.

    • @RickAnderson-ps6he
      @RickAnderson-ps6he Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yes Rosanne, you are right about this. Twice in this discussion it was mentioned that Jesus may have surrendered His deity....which of course is incorrect and easily refuted. But neither of these brothers believe this. They just mistated their point. We're just human. I heard what you heard though and it is relevant today in these deceptive times where we see apostasy run amok. Let's pray for discernment together to know the difference between good and evil. God bless you 😊

      Hebrews teaches that Christ was an ordinary man. You're guilty of engaging in false doctrine yourself. Christ was God, but He was still an ordinary man before His resurrection. That is how He was able to die, because God cannot die. John repeatedly shows Christ saying He could do NOTHING by His own effort, especially the miracles that He performed.

    Revelation 1:11 is not the same in all Bible. More modern or new translations do not have the “Alpha and the Omega” in verse. It’s in verse 8 but not in verse 11. Older Greek manuscripts do not have those words there, just as 1 John 5:7 has added the “three witness bearers the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit”.
    11 “saying “What you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.” - Byington
    11 “saying, What thou seest, write in a book and send it to the seven churches: unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.” - ASV
    11 “saying-What thou seest write in a scroll and send unto the Seven Assemblies,-unto Ephesus and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum,-and unto Thyatira and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia,-and unto Laodicea.” - Rotherham
    (Also see the; NIV, NLT, ESV, BSB, NASV, LSB, CSB, CEV, ERV, GNT, ISV, NAB, etc,)
    And BTW, in verse 8, the red letter Bibles have it wrong. Jesus is not saying he is the Alpha and the Omega, this is Jehovah. (Compare vss 4-6)

      Tyndale Bible of 1526
      sayinge: I am Alpha and Omega the fyrst and the laste. That thou seist write in a boke and sende it vnto the congregacions which are in Asia vnto Ephesus and vnto Smyrna and vnto Pargamos and vnto Thiatira and vnto Sardis and vnto Philadelphia and vnto Laodicia.
      Geneva Bible of 1587
      Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, that first and that last: & that which thou seest, write in a booke, and send it vnto the seuen Churches which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus, and vnto Smyrna, and vnto Pergamus, and vnto Thyatira, and vnto Sardis, and vnto Philadelphia, and vnto Laodicea.
      Bishops' Bible of 1568
      Saying: I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: That thou seest, write in a booke, and sende it vnto the seuen Churches which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus, and vnto Smyrna, and vnto Pergamos, and vnto Thyatira, and vnto Sardis, and vnto Philadelphia, and vnto Laodicea.
      Coverdale Bible of 1535
      sayenge: I am Alpha and Omega, the fyrst and ye laste. That thou seist, write in a boke, and sende it vnto the cogregacions which are in Asia, vnto Ephesus and vnto Smyrna, and vnto Pargamos, and vnto Thiatira, and vnto Sardis, and vnto Philadelphia, and vnto Laodicia.
      So basically the newest editions are correct in not having the the Alpha and Omega in vs 11 but the old ones back then got it wrong.

      You said it plainly. The MODERN BIBLES , Which was not translated from the original scripts. The addition nnd deleting of these scripts has made the JW run from my studies with them because they hold that Jesus isn't also God , only a god, but contradict themselves not understanding that God can create his existence into personalities. Nor do they understand the preeminence of His being. The jW reasoning is man based not Godbased. They limit GOD and reject the bible . They made thier own to support the twisted version of man. 😢 The bible condemn them in 1 John 4:1-4

  • @jwjim
    @jwjim Před 2 měsíci +1

    Actually Colossians 1:15-18 show that what made Jesus preeminent was the fact that he is the firstborn of creation and the firstborn from the dead and the head of the congregation.
    BTW. thanks for deleting my first response.
