    I think that is, indeed, very helpful. Nobody ever described this approach to vibrato, or the preference of each finger to rebel in its own way! I hope you will do more and more of these tutorials.

    Yes, that helped on my cello too. I was able to emphasize vibrato on a top tension note even when played with a weaker finger. Augustin, thank you for the comparison in the demonstration, so I could hear the difference.

    Just curious... Why he did not vibrate the very first note in Bruch violin concerto? 2' 35" ?

      Probably because it sounds better without vibrato. We've all been taught to do it, but vibratoing that note really doesn't make it sound good. You also don't get a true vibrato. You get air pulses when you vibrato a harmonic.
