After the shuttle lands it will not leave untill some boards it or the mission time runs out. Depending on the circumstances it can be very helpful to call in the shuttle halfway through the mission, as the enemy presence grows stronger with time! The only downside is once the clock hits zero you have twenty seconds to evac. Hope this helps and may liberty be with you!
I hate it when playing with randos I get to pick up all their samples cuz they constantly die and then get kicked in the after-mission screen since they extracted without me.
I am not gonna lie. I always try to be host, because when some dumb ass bolts to the extraction point after main is done, I give a single warning to not get any closer to it or I kick. Some test it, some don't. If you have 30 to 35 minutes left, there isn't an excuse to not do essentially everything else.
It's situational, and there is balance. Sometimes the die-hard completionists can be annoying as hell when we have 2 reinforcements and 5 minutes left, and they want to walk halfway across the map to get an outpost. Usually, I try to explain and communicate with the team on why we need to move on or extract and I'd say 9/10 times the team agrees after I explain. Guys, we wasted 10 reinforcements on Suicide difficulty trying to destroy this side objective. Let us move on or extract.
"If you have 30 to 35 minutes left, there isn't an excuse to not do essentially everything else." Tell me you're still a noob without telling me you're still a noob. When you hit max level and unlock all your toys then at some point the only thing that matters to you is getting medals for unlocking warbond stuff. You only need to do the main objective to get medals. Everything else is just you wasting your time. If you want to do everything on the map in your hosted matches that's fine, but other people are not "dumbasses" for rushing main objective and then going to extraction, you're just too stupid to understand WHY they are doing it.
The same dumb fuckers who do shit like this and get kicked are the same dumb fuckers making noise to get the kick button removed so they can troll and ruin the game.

as a lvl 50 with max req max samples i dont see a reason to stay in any longer than completing the mission
