Everytime I see the opening credits of shows like Melrose Place, Beverly HIlls 90210, Dallas, Dynasty etc I get chills. Those them songs and opening credits are still classic today.
Besides Vanessa Williams was upset about she was fired at the end of season 1, later she glad about her character didn’t end up in bed with her neighbors.

Once Heather Locklear became part of the show and then Michael started cheating on Jane, it started to get really good. I found myself watching two, three, sometimes four episodes in a row.
1. This show is as old as I am by almost 4 months. 2. I doubt it was shown in South Africa. 3. I just ordered the first season online. The opening theme really got me interested in the show (call me weird).
A.k.a. 'when it was boring AF, and did storylines like 'Billy has to start making payments on his student loans'... I remember the first half of Season One, before Amanda showed up and the crazy and wild kicked into overdrive both at the apartment building and at D&D. One problem: Spelling's well-known problem with using POC effectively all but ensured that Rhonda was going to be shown the door quickly. A hot, Black fitness instructor working at a trendy L.A. fitness club in the 1990s - a place that's ready-made for lots of action with people from across the spectrum coming in to get fit or fish around for hot hookups, and Spelling couldn't get story-lines for her out of that? BTW, yes, that's what happened. Spelling actually said 'Her story-lines sucked. We didn't know what to do with her.' Yeah - but if she was a leggy redhead or a smoky Latina with the fiery nature and the figure of AOC, you'd have had to make that fitness club a major set-piece of the show and I promise at least one season finale would have taken place there. Spelling was never good at doing story-lines with POC - and that's not a slam per se, because his work was amazing - it's just that every show-runner has flaws.

Part of a show's charm was the theme song, being able to recognize it when it started and watching the actors in it and learn their names. + there were many nice themes, classics, like X Files or MacGyver :) Those were the good TV days!
1:42, that's a long opening. nowadays the shows either have no opening or a very short one of 15 seconds. The best are those from here of the past. 5 stars.
I always liked the wide pan shot of the cast walking together as most people do in real life….NOT!!!! LOL!!!!. I know they did a short version of it when Daphne Zuniga jointed the cast but it wasn’t good. Season 1 was boring. They brought in Heather Locklear (only, for 4 episodes originally), and the rest is history. Good memories.
The show was completely different (and completely boring) in it's first season. It almost got cancelled but got reworked for the second season. That's when things...and people...started getting crazy. What's scary for me is watching this opening sequence and realizing all these people suddenly look young to me! As a kid they seemed so much older.
I don't believe, at the moment, that Daphne Zuringa was on MP! She plays Brooke's Mother on OTH and she is so bad! In MP she was my favourite charcter after Sydney obviously!

Apparently so. Knots Landing and Dallas did it as well. This was to show they were an ensemble cast, and that no person was better than the other. Although, making Heather Locklear "Special Guest Star" for 5-6 seasons was pretty suspicious.
