  • We just bought a Woodland Mills HM126 Portable Sawmill for the Homestead. Why did we buy it? What are we going to do with it? Was it a huge mistake?

I ordered this 7 weeks ago. 14hp, extra track, toe board, blades, lap siding kit, tool box, parts kit and cover. For your same reasons. I have lots of dead ash trees and some storm trees. I turn 60 this year and bought it for a hobby. Also I promised my wife a she shed the fall of pre COV. We all know what happened to lumber pricing. I ordered this for the original estimated cost of the shed. As soon as I can come up with the cash I am going to order the trailer. I also could not find a bad review everyone seems to love it. People say costumer service is second to none. I cant wait to get it. My first project will be a Honey Locust fence to hide my wood pile then on to a solar kiln. I subscribed Good luck and keep the videos coming.

You are going to love it! I was up and running right away with no experience. Yeah we have a ton ash trees here that I have been cutting for personal projects. Honey locust will make for a great rot resistant fence! Hope you enjoy your mill as much as I do! Thanks for watching.

Wood a renewable resource for sure. I'm a fellow Southern Iowan and appreciate the conservationist in you. I wish you and your family all the best for sure.

Well, the pop-up, "surprise!" logarithm is at it again. So I just Subscribed mostly because, after listening to your first Intro video I decided anyone who can get rid of a 100,000 $ debt in such a short time deserves a tick of acknowledgement and those who shows such ingenuity need to be followed. Of course, family counts. I wonder how you would manage if you didn't have the set-in set-up of a mum with a forest and a Grampa's beautiful Workshop just ready and waiting. To go through 15 videos just to catch up is a bit much all at the one time so, here's to story-telling, fireside chat times where I can get acquainted with your journey. Bon voyage for us both.

Thanks for swinging by!! I am definitely grateful to have the family I have and the resources available to go down the path we are heading down. Without this land and shop available, we would be on a different journey that I couldn't know unless we were on it. I'm also grateful for people like you who take the time to join us on the journey. Hopefully I'll see you in the comments down the road!

Oh how I want to do what you are doing! But I don't have 40 acres of woods either. :( Just Subbed! I don't live to far from SE Iowa, in Western Illinios.

Great hobby , better than thousands of dollars worth of model trains in the basement , or putting thousands into a 57' chev you only drive on sunny Sundays. Enjoy you hobby , you'll get a ton of pleasure out of a nice finished produce

You betcha. It's a ton of work but I enjoy it. Hobbies are great as long as passion and pleasure are making it worth while. Thanks for watching!
