It’s unfortunate that people hate the franchise now because of everyday life being over saturated by the Minions. Because genuinely, the first film is really fun and pleasant to watch.

I love the movies but I hate minions if that makes sense, in the movies they are adorable, the minions movie isn’t for me it’s too much but it was fun to see it once. But i do love the original movie just other than that I think the minions are annoying

The Minon language is actually a combintion where every other word is a word from a different language. That's why you sometimes hear Spanish, English, tagalog, french. german...etc.
Such a great film. The first two Despicable Me was a breath of fresh air, absolutely hilarious, fun and fresh, and the film that shot Illumination to the animated studios upper rank. Sure, most of their films after would be mediocre at best, but their first try, is an absolute gem.
The fact that Julie Andrews voices Gru’s mom is ICONIC. What a legend! ❤

the fact that Tara hasn’t seen this until now is kinda scary. I think that Despicable Me 2 is pretty great but 3 not so much. The first Minions film isn’t that amazing but the Rise of Gru is so much fun and it was a blast watching it in theaters w a packed crowd of loads of teens my age 😂
Rewatching this film years later, immediately hit with just how damn sweet and nostalgic it all is. Saw this film when it was in theaters back when I was (possibly) in 4th grade. Ahhh memories.
It's insane how fast minions took over.
Yeah, it was in 3D when it came out. And the 3D wasn't that bad. The amusement park roller coaster scene was great. And the scene when Gru's ship comes to a stop as he's trying to get to recital really got me. I remember distinctly moving my head as I felt it coming right for my eye.

I remember the reason we saw this movie in theaters. It came out the same time as Inception and that showing was sold out when we got to the theater so we decided to see this movie. So many adults were in there and all of us were crying by the end. This movie came out of nowhere and just worked.

This series is one of those you either totally love or totally hate. Mainly because of the minon fever and advertising done for years on end. I personally LOVE the minions. To some degree they make the series.

She's like the pothead that cannot sleep with her squinty, underbag eyes. And all of her laughs remind me of bad Seth Rogan Characters.
When an actor has just hit a career low -- as I think Steve Carell did in the desperate Dinner for Schmucks -- it's a relief to see him bounce back with a performance that clicks, in a hit film that really needs his service.
This along with Megamind are two movies me and my nephews love to watch, and I can respectively never get tired of either of them

Oh wow, this is such a nostalgic childhood movie for me! I just turned 21 so seeing this brought me back. I love the minion characters but I especially have a fondness for this original movie with Gru snd the rest!

Just like Greg I completely didn't realize how much emotion this movie had when I first watched it, Although I was like 10 yrs old when it came out. I'm really happy they did this reaction.
I think I love Vector's character so much because I'm a huge nerd and so is he. I mean he names himself after a mathematical term which is just iconic.
When this came out we were foster parents and our social worker advised us not to watch it because the giving the kids back scene can be triggering for the kids. We adopted them years ago so now watching this as they’re much older I appreciate her warning. It’s an adorable movie but we didn’t want the kids to know that was even an option…

There was a deleted scene when gru called dr nefario after he got his butt kicked by vectors fortress where the kid who got the balloon popped in his face comes back to beat gru up as he is in the hole

I watched the movies fairly recently for the first time. I put a lot of energy into avoiding it for years just because the minions were everywhere and I don't deal well with super-hyped stuff😅But watching everything like 10 years late made me totally love the franchise, the way I started to relate to the girls cause it felt like they show different parts of my personality (the unicorn loving metalhead whose looking out for friends and family)
I know it's just an animated film but there were several moments where it absolutely ramped up my anxiety like that scene where Margo is hanging on to the cable between the two ships
Every line on script for the minions could be:

That gru "I Love You" Scene was an all time tear jerker for me for sure.

As a long-time fan of The Big Bang Theory, I have always thought that if Howard became a super villain, he'd pretty much be Vector.

Most adoptions actually have 2 steps.1st you foster the kids for a period usually about 6 months And then you finalize the adoption if it's a good fit.
