    Thanks for that Gash. Really keen to see how you go. This new oat extract is a very new product but we are hoping it makes it easier for people who want to introduce haze and mouth feel but without all the complications of oats.

      No worries, I went over the usage benefits in the first video, not sure if you saw that, this is kind of part 2, it was going to be one video but decided to have a longer brew day vid, so I split it up. Cheers!

    A tip for the novices (me), when you turn the collection jar butterfly valve to to closed position, make sure you remove the collection jar, I should be receiving my new jar shortly 😞 WIll be installing a PRV on the replacement one...

    Hi Gash, ive been using a 2nd vessel for dry hopping, all done under pressure, all purged during the ferment including the keg. Yes I have CO2 lines running from each vessel, but I just tape the fridge door closed. Ive had amazing results, no need to open the fermenter during fermentation. I ferment in the 30l all rounder, once fermentation is complete, transfer to the purged 27l with the hops already in it. The trick is to have the keg in between the two fermenters so the hops don't get soggy, yes I also have SMBS in the keg as per your video.

    I really enjoyed that vid Gash. Good to see that this kind of info is still relevant and appreciated by many by the looks of it. I might have to get a batch going after not brewing for years.
    What was the dry hop? Cheers mate.

    Gash, big fan of your channel for many years. I suspect you will be kegging this like most beers you do. Do you think it would be possible to bottle this beer? I have seen a lot of people say hazy beers are really difficult to bottle due to oxidation issues which lead to the beer turning purple and tasting bad. Cheers mate.

    Hi mate.
    I'm new to brewing and been looking at all your videos learnt heaps thanks You Betcha. I seen one of you videos and you know electrics. I'm looking at getting the brewzilla gen 4 as I want to make beer form scratch. I also want to get a pot still for it and I want to put a voltage controller on it. Because of the computer/control box that runs brewzilla If I drop voltage for the element it's going to stuff or mess up the computer/controller? Or can I tap in after the computer/controller with a voltage controller with out effecting the computer/controller. cheers mate

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The Gen 4 can control the element power where the older models couldn't thats why you needed the voltage controller. Cheers!

      @@HomeBrewNetwork Thanks
      Only problem is it fluctuates on and off like the pump which is no good. From what I have looked at it's fine to put a voltage controller in just have to tap in between the relay and the element

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@Deano155 I can't say I've tried it, I use an induction plate on my still, it fluctuates on and off and works fine, but yeah that doesnt mean the brewzilla would i guess. Cheers mate

    I'm not into really hoppy beers and prefer Belgian style beers - saisons etc. Just wondering what other beer styles would be appropriate for the oat malt.
    Thanks

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  Před 9 měsíci

      The good thing about oats is they don't impart much flavour but they are great at adding body and mouthfeel, and are good for head retention so they can be added to any beer that needs that. It was always mainly stouts and porters, then oat cream IPAs, ice cream ipas, but these days people are putting them in all sorts of pales and other styles. Not sure you'd want then in a Saison unless you are lacking body, but some Belgians might go alright with it I reckon. Cheers!

    Great video Gash, can't wait to see the result. BTW, have you got the link for that handy strainer? Cheers mate.

    • @HomeBrewNetwork
      @HomeBrewNetwork  Před 9 měsíci

      I found that strainer years ago now, I think it was aldi, but its the kind of thing you might find at market, asian grocer etc. I see lots of rectangular ones the same style around, I havent really been looking lately to be honest.

      Yeah sorry its happening just haven't had the right opportunity to do a whole video.. Its balancing between time, the house quiet with the kids and my fairly strict diabetes diet at the moment. I've had it live on streams a few times and in patreon vids some where. Next week. Cheers! I was going to do it today and our house was taken over by the sister inlaw,, I'll just stop there lol
