You make some great points at the 2nd half of the video my friend. I think it's a big miss that it doesn't have a HDMI port on it. No streaming and could have been cool to use as a second VS. I'm happy that this will hopefully attract customers from the arcade market into the Evercade ecosystem. I do wish we were getting these games as 2 cart collections.
Thanks brother, I wanted to mention the no HDMI point, but I figured it was implied from Blaze that this should be placed in an area that wouldn’t be great for plugging into a TV. If it had the feature, to be honest I think it would be a no brainer for me, and even something that I’d recommend for where I work. Wild announcement, and get fodder for more thoughts for sure! I think the lack of HDMI is intentional; they don't want to compete with the VS and if it had an HDMI, it wouldn't be allowed to play the Namco carts.

Im so torn on this one, basically the price. Its going to be over $400 with exchange and shipping to get it up to the great white north, not counting any import charges and taxes. Pretty hard to justify this one, nevermind 2 lol. I wish they would of done a evercade branded version without built in games and then it likely would of been cheaper. Would be nice to see Cadey on the cabinet. Great vid rich!

Very cool midi bartop and well put together. Not sure if it's for me but a great option for anyone wanting to dip their toe into the arcade cabinet gaming scene. I'm not sure the limited edition versions are a must because Sanwa sticks and buttons are really made for competition play rather than casual gaming. Sanwa "style" components will be more than sufficient for a bartop. If you really want to, you can always switch out the stick and buttons at a later date. I upgraded my Arcade 1UP SF2 cabinet with Sanwa Style components and it plays great but when I'm getting serious I have an arcade stick which has been upgraded with genuine Sanwa parts. The additional Alpha controller won't be necessary if you have a VS Console as those controllers will work just fine. Finally the couple of extra marquee inserts are purely cosmetic and you'll probably find that they clash with the cabinets side decals. I'd recommend that if you want one, just pre-order the standard version of your choice for £199 which seems a reasonable price :-) Keep up the awesome work!

Rich, save your money for something you "really" want. All the Alpha is, is just another way to play Evercade carts. It's not truly portable and your VS connects to a bigger screen and you're still going to be able to review every new Evercade cart that's been released. The Alpha is intended for an even smaller niche within what is already a niche market i.e. Evercade. Now if you really want the Alpha(s), and you think the value will skyrocket over time, then don't let me or anyone else stop you. But you're giving me the distinct feeling that you are a bit underwhelmed and if you are, that's perfectly OK. You're still a big Evercade Fan and Supporter. 👍👍

Agreed there 💯 my friend! I’m really leaning into the Mega Man one as well, if at all. It’s a shame they weren’t all in one, with new units and game mixes every year or every other…really hurts the wallet to go for both, lol! Thanks as always for the support and for checking this out!! 😀👍👊🔥🔥🔥
I legitimately like these cabinets, though I'm leaning more on the Mega Man one because while I like Street Fighter, especially the Alpha series (no pun intended), Mega Man has always been a favorite game series of mine and it has a few other games included that don't get too much love, these days.
However though, this might be the first time Evercade announced something hardware related that I think I'll skip out on, aside from the R versions of the VS and EXP.
The price point is not really enticing and for me personally, I don't think I have a place in my house (currently) that I feel would be perfect for something like this.
Again, I legitimately like the fact that Blaze decided to make these, but sadly I don't have a reason to buy one, at the moment.
I believe you will not be the only one in this camp, and who knows, maybe something really compelling is announced for it that brings it to the next level for folks. Hardcore 4x4 allows 8 players to complete in Time Trail mode only... and you have to take turns. So, yeah... it's only one player at a time. I'm kind of surprised that they would mark it as an 8 player game just because of that. The back of the original Playstation box even indicates its a 1 player game.
Gotcha, I figured there would be pass the controller style multiplayer. It got me thinking that they might have supported 8 player via USB hub on the VS or something. Thanks for the info though, and as always for checking this out my friend!! 👍👊😀🔥🔥🔥
From what's been said on discord it sounds like the Alpha controller will not be available seperately. Gotm, hidden games etc are confirmed.

I've never owned a arcade cabinet of any kind and if I didn't have several hardware from Blaze, I'd buy one and so the Alpha is a pass for me. I'll be honest, I'm relieved it's something that would cause FOMO and this time it has not. I do like the looks of them, pretty cool stuff...

Yeah to me this is really exciting, I bought the deluxe street fighter for the alpha series and puzzle fighter. Excited about future carts that are compatible with these. If they could link in order to play your friends that would be next level, they would sell so many more. Why two cartridge ports ? How does that work if two carts are installed?

It’s a big yawn from me. If it had a bunch of hard to find shooters in the unit, then sure… but I have no interest in this, especially at that price.
The deep cuts seem to be lacking in the SF unit for sure, but that Mega Man one has games I’ve never played before. Not really worth it to play Alpha series on an 8inch IPS screen, no online battle, HDMI output. Better to play on Fightcade that I already do so, for FREE 😗😘😍😙😚
