- I finished installing the overkill supercharger kit on my buddies 3.0L V6 Cadillac CTS. This thing picks up speed way faster than before.

I agree also. I own a 2012 CTS-V sedan also and love it. Would never sell it. Keeping my eye out for the wagon versions which are even more rare and definitely a future collector car. Something about a wagon with 600hp and you can haul anything lol.🇺🇸✌️

I have the 2003 base model with the 3.2 LA3 engine. I've tooken good care of it. I don't even wanna start. The list is long. But hey I'm at 217,000 miles though! Still goin too. I like that upgrade he did. What a beast. I love the CTS. Every gen. But I like the 1st Gen ALOT. It's a nice sporty car.
The 1sth gen is the worst and was rushed to market. I love cadillacs but anyone who likes a first gen CTS You must not have been in second gen cts or even 05 sts…
@@sirloin4372 bro. I worked for ammco, the 2nd gen Cadillac CTS rarely makes it to 100k without transmission problems. Most people never service that cars transmission and it goes out. Especially on the 4weel drive version the CTS4. And if you don't fix the valve covers, you will have a PCV issue. Also the timing guide go out too fast. At least my 1st gen CTS transmission went out at 209,000 miles. And that's cause the previous owner was a douchebag. I had to bring this car back to life. And the engine was still very much in tack. Which to me is crazy. I understand the CTS have bad repps but I think it's partly the owners fault. If you drive luxury cars, you need to make sure to stay ontop of the maintenance. And screw 5k-10k oil changes. Change it with cheap oil every 2 months or so. Cars with overhead cams need clean oil galley's. Or the top end with give out due to poor oil flow. Keep oil clean
Never really had any problems with LA3 (in EU/UK we call it Z32SE) just give regular oil changes every 6,000 mile or 6 months and change the cambelt every 36,000 miles. Its a German engine design so treat it as such. 👍

It's around 270 stock v6 Which is pretty good for a stock 3.6 ltr v6

I know it ain't the baddest thing in town or anything. It handle really good. I just bought a set of ctsv wheels with Michelin super sport pilots in them. Changed the worn out upper control arm bushings with the green Revshift one's. Man what a difference.
New wheels tire size is 255 35 18 on the front, 275 35 18 out back.
3.0 had 270. the 3.6 is 308 hp

I wish I had a friend that could help me supercharge my CTS. I just found this video, pt 2. I thank you for showing us some of your skills a knowledge. Do you have a more detailed video that would help me try to decide whether or not to undertake this endeavor on my own? I found a supercharger kit with everything necessary to supercharge my car but the kit was $6000. Is that a typical parts only estimate? Then I figure another $1500 (is this enough for labor) to have it installed if I find out I’m not competent enough to do it myself. Is this what you would think a total install might cost, around $7500? I would appreciate your response and input. A not so much of a mechanic is hoping. Thanks
Mark Von Feldt that’s a pretty typical price for a complete supercharger kit. And labor is going to vary greatly from place to place. That’s a pretty hard thing for me to estimate. But most good mechanics charge at least $100 an hour. There is an install video on overkill superchargers website

I own a 2004 with 70k miles with a 3.6L as well. Just bought it for my wife and it's almost showroom condition... smog tests show it sat around in a garage until 2012. I dont know much about this car yet but I'm looking into it and hoping to do some sexy modifications in the near future.

You should of slapped Prochargers , bolt ons , Port and polished heads and throttle, and Pistons then it would be over kill or even twin turbo and tune, the OG 2003-2007 CTS v6 3.6 L is better than the others has iron Block, Aluminum heads , and you can manually shift or leave in Automatic and turn in Sports mode. I love your setup but for money and speed the old CTS v6 3.6L is best for upgrading and with straight pipe and tune it shoots fire from exhaust and sounds like a v8

It was pretty easy to install no specialty tools needed really just basic mechanic tools. You will need an impact or breaker bar to get the harmonic balancer bolt out and back in.

My Impala LTZ has this same engine 3.6 LTR and stock it's 304 HP. My 08 Impala SS LS4 has 325 so what I'm trying to say is, is that today's V6 engines are shut as quick.
Its the torque that makes you torque not the horsepower

Nice car. I would love to do this but I never get any responses back from Overkill on trying to get the ported intake manifold and big throttle body. I've also been looking into getting the super charger as well for my v6 Camaro. It's been about 3 - 4 months now and still nothing. I may have to look at other options.
Yeah I’m not sure man. I just did the parts install. The guy who owns the car did all the coordination with overkill.

How come you dressed your Chev SS up as a Holden VF Commodore SS? Even the Wheels? I have seen a lot of Aussies put Chev badges on the grill and Boot/Trunk but you have fully Badged it all around. I'm no expert on the Chev SS but don't they have exterior trim differences too? for e.g. the taillights, front 1/4 panel flutes etc? Coz that thing looks identical to an Aussie VF.

So basically, do we need to replace the pistons to be able to handle the extra boost ? And also this is a turbo charger not a supercharger right. I was wanting a supercharger from a Cadillac v6 to be able to bolt on to a v6 Camaro. But this vid didn't help much.

im debating a twin turbo or a bi charger setup with a turbo and supercharger on my awd sts do you think its possible. the stsv is stuck around 550 whp tops i believe with lots of mods and i feel like my v6 from 07 can honestly wamp on them whats your opinion?!
hey just wanted to say that i have an awd v6 2007 sts as well which is sick to hear you have the EXACT same specific model as i do! unfortunately as the sts was not a very popular model during its release, people dont really make prochargers, spec match turbos, intercoolers, coilovers etc, and just about everything else because of this. the cts of the same year comparitive to that of the sts will always be likely to have a broad range of performance parts because it was so commonly owned. The downside to having a rare-ish model haha. ive gotta ask, have you done anything to your sts in the end? as your comment was 2-3 years ago

What tune did you use /what plugs did you use /why was the check engine light still on/and what throttle body spacer did he have... Please let me know what link they are I'm building a 3.6l DI AWD
Abel Rodriguez I didn’t do the tune I just uploaded it. They plugs are 1 step colder plugs that come with the supercharger kit. Check engine light was on because at the time of me doing the install he had no cats or exhaust on the car so the O2 sensors were throwing a code. You need to checkout overkill superchargers. They are the ones who sell the kit and I believe they did the tune as well.

I just bought a 2013 CTs sedan myself and am wanting to do a decent amount of mods. Obviously ultimate goal would be to get close to what a V puts out. Looked at doing entire engine swap. What y'all think? Mod the V6 or drop the 6.2L supercharged in it? And what is more cost effective. I don't know a lot about mechanics.
Personally, I'd mod the v6 or try a different LS swap (ls2, ls3) since the LSA motor is very expensive (15k+). But that's just my opinion.

@@Antonio-yx2jo i would get this setup if you have the money if not like me im doing a rear mounted single turbo at around 8 psi on everything stock... the 3.6 can handle more boost because its lower compression
Are those the oem cts v 19" wheels or are those aftermarket 20" replicas. I have the exact same car and want to put the same wheels on mine.
The CTS-V is the V8. This is a normal CTS 3.0
With you working on it I doubt it’ll make 1 hp. The weathers probably a sign to tell you to stop ruining nice cars. Love how you explain everything so clearly though. 🤙🏼 Good video 4/10 would watch again.

Where did you get the adapters for the 80mm throttle body? Assuming you used that, with the stock 72mm tubes and manifold mount.
All u need is a big tank of nos in the trunk and and it's a easy 8 9 sec car

I have an 04 CTS 3.6 and want to get it to perform. its got 150,000 miles on it and is a bit sluggish. Started running premium with octane booster and the occasional sea foam treatment and that helped a little. Where do you get this kit and how much was it? I also gutted my cats.

Im watching cuz I have same year cts-4 coupe.....I think its like 320ish so say 300hp but what scares me is the 3.6l L fam gm motors all but the 3.0tt thats in the CT6 have an 11.5:1 compression ratio. I have toy'ed with turbo'ing mine with like a relocated twin turbo system and this makes good sense as far as space wise but at probably what a kit costs and having to build a engine that can handle any type of substantial psi you'd have to lower that compression ratio correct?....I'm really askin ya boss I am torn here......where I am lookin at bidding on a wrecked 2017 ct6 3.0tt 8spd awd.......and paying for it cuz its outta my league to put both 400hp engine and trans in my coupe and then I'd have the only awd tt Cadillac coupe with an engine designed for forced induction with a better head design......what are you thoughts on this problem boss(sorry for the essay)

Up to 450hp
If it's a 3.0, you're looking at only 270hp(crank) in stock form, so that's an impressive improvement, however I hope the Timing chains hold up( big sore spot with these engines) had a '10 black on black 3.0L cts all stock and all slow, but looked and drove well.

What was the issue if any when tighten down the balancer? Also any dyno numbers before or after?

The Overkill kit is available in all wheel drive configuration. Comes with a slightly different intercooler piping setup and a new windshield washer bottle. Kit is otherwise identical with similar features and power expectations, and same price as rear wheel drive
