Vocal Range Battle: Matt Bellamy, Jared Leto, Brendon Urie and Patrick Stump

- Redoing the description to hopefully answer most of the questions and comments that are being posted.
1. I'm not gonna include cracks and squeaks, which is why for example Jared's 6th octave notes and Brendon's C7 aren't included. They are extremely short notes that are neither sung nor intended to be musical. They are where they belong, in the trash. Oh and regarding notes from other range videos, Matt's "D6" is a D5 with overtones, and I have yet to hear a supposed C6 by Patrick that actually exist.
2. For Brendon, I chose to focus on his "full" range for as long as possible, since that's what people commonly judge singers by. However, if you are basing your opinion on soft highs, often falsetto ones like Patrick uses, check out the F#5 in Oh Glory, E5 in Stall Me and the Bb5 included in this video.
3. If you come here to post something along the lines of "Brendon/Matt/Jared/Patrick can go higher/lower than that", be prepared to actually prove it. So far the only note that has been mentioned that should be included is Brendon's D6. That's right, even higher than in this video.
4. This is NOT intended as a video of the best singers or the best ranges in the world. You are welcome to suggest singers for people to listen to, but please do so without sounding like a dick.

IT'S MY HUNDREDTH VINE MY HUNDREDTH VINE BEFORE I HAD THIS I HAD NINETY-NINE.
i laughed so hard when they included this
+Sue The Cookie :) Me too tbh I was expecting something studio recorded but hahah oh well this is great too
omg yes lol :D
poSITIVE HARDCORE THURSDAY
* stuffs food in mouth * AMERICAAAAA (I'm English but I love this vine)
Let's just all agree that Brendon has the largest vocal range in the history of the world and he is the best of all time
+Stefan R Nicola Sedda beats that easily. And who has the largest range in the world is a silly discussion anyway since most singers don't really care for that stuff, so we never really know how wide their ranges are.
Yep
Pellek has the same range but is more consistent c:
***** Pellek has covered 100's of songs and is consistent in his whole range D2-C6. Tim only full voices to A4 and uses falsetto after. He has an amazing G1 though and his B0 sounds cool on record. Pellek is realistically better at high notes and a better singer for all around purposes.
+Stefan R Yeah but pellek is a low baritone and can hit C6 easy. I think any man can hit at least C5 with hard work. Although he is a super bass I know a bass who speaks at a D2 and can go to B1 and he can sing a C5 :) as a baritone I can sing A5. (take this with a grain of salt, I know how hard it is to believe CZcams comments) but my point is pellek is more well rounded.
I lost it when Brendon's 100th vine was played

at the end it's basically Matt Bellamy and Brendon Urie screaming at each other

You are the reason why I love life now.
+Alex McGuire I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS THE WHOLE TIME
you made my day right now..
OMFG I LOVE YOU
When you see Brendon Live.... His range is pretty incredible his voice it stays very clear the whole time through
MelodyOfMars so does Matt. Even better in vocal control. Ive watched them both.
Yeah Brendon is amazing live
Brendon destroys his voice though. By the end of a concert, his voice cracks and gets really tired.
Aaron Moen yeah. It seems like his recent shows his voice is giving up at the end
Danielle Winn2 When you compare that to Matt, who is a decade older, and his voice is as strong at the end of a concert as it was at the start.
Patrick has a soul voice, Brendon has an angels voice, Matt is incredible so there's no describing him, and Jared is a god so they all win

I JUST CAN'T WHEN IN THE HIGH NOTES PART ALL THE SINGERS ARE TRYING HARD TO SING IT AND KEEP IT AND BRENDON SINGS HIS REGULAR TONE.
ikr
I KNOW RIGHT HE DOES IT SO EFFORTLESSLY
+Eliška Janíčková Matt does it pretty effortless too. He said once in an interview that he feels more comfortable singing high than low
IKR
+Eliška Janíčková i know it's awesome right? the others are just HELP I CAN'T SING THAT HIGH while brendon's just like THIS IS EZ-AY!

True dat.
All these comments on Brendon urie but Matt Bellamy has an insane vocal range and amazing guitarist
I love them all but gdi Matt's voice is fucking beautiful...
Brendon also has a fucking insane ass vocal range, he can also excel at playing guitar bass drums piano, lots of brass instruments, and many more I've forgotten.
i get it. but theres p!atd fans everywhere, just wanted to leave this comment in appreciation for matt aswell bless
+Kira sj yeah, but oh well. They just happen to be more popular.
I made a post up there with a more informed video about matt bellamy with WAY deeper vocals than in the video and a high range of C#6 and C6.
A matt bellamy has amazing bass, guitar and piano skills.
Believe me, matt made better piano work than brendon.
(Even tho I am a panic! at the disco fanboy)
Hear "Exogenesis Symphony" by Matt and watch this video: /watch?v=V91sQozzFgc
YOu should also look for his best guitar works, he is a genius in playing instruments.
Idek what instruments he can play, but I know thats not even close to all.
Matt is sick with his falsetto, Patrick and Brendon have great voices so does Jared. All marvelous. Matt is my favorite tho
Obviously, from that username haha.
Kevin Ward haha
Citizen Erased most of Jared’s high notes are screaming. In terms of clarity, it’s between Brendon and Matt. Matt takes it for musicianship though, being able to play complex instrumentals while singing the way he does it just unfathomable.
They're all great but Patrick is probably still my favorite
He’s my fav too
Jared Leto looks like he is about to say "boi"
Garrett Slaughter laughed at this too much
😂😂😂
OMFG
He is everything
I think Brandon might have won. But Patrick.....Patrick is Patrick....So Patrick is love...Patrick is life.
*Brendon
+Sally Sassy lol

I love Brendon AND Patrick. They both have amazing voices (I think they are the best singers of all time. Love them)
+Fall_Out _Boy_Is_Epic your name makes your comment sound so subjective xD well, I love them both, and I know that Patrick can do more than that appeared in this vid, but I still believe that Brendon is the winner.
Matt Bellamy's voice is pure bliss! Angelic singer, guitar god, and piano master! I love him so much!
Bliss, see what you did there 😂😉
I think he's better in piano than guitar
@@konradio4255naaa, thats because you dont Like the sound of the guitar

Natalie Swatowski I have to agree but Lake Street Dive is amazing as well

I agree
Matt's G#5 @ 8:37 is the best thing in the universe
Showbiz is the best thing in the universe
Brendon had the highest vocal range, Patrick has the best voice here, Matt is awesome, Jared is great singer. No one wins all are beautiful ❤️
True
truee
It was a tie between matt and brendon
thank you
if no one wins then why are you saying one person has the best voice?
Brendon vs Patrick
Holy fuck better get my popcorn ready
Go listen to muse, you'll like it.
Right!!
Joltzie Yus Muse is gr8
Matt Bellamy is literally God's gift to humanity
Freya G you spelt Brendon urie wrong
Tina Louise Go listen to the Exogenesis Symphony, then come back and tell me Brendon is more of a gift than Matt 👍
Aaron Moen
Try listening to Supremacy or Physcho! Then you'll see that Matt is a gift from heaven
Tina Louise Listen to the Exogenesis Symphony, Parts 1 - 3. And be prepared to die as you wallow in its beauty.
Tina Louise no she didnt
I am actually not surprised that Brendon has the biggest range but is because I am a big fan of how he uses his voice, what surprised me is that Matt was the closest to beating Brendon in range, I actually though that would be Patrick, because Brendon and Patrick's voices hold some very close similarities!
but I have to give a slow clap to Matt (who I am not very familiar with as a singer) boy got range!!!! but I will stand by that (IN MY OPINION, kay people? in MY opinion) Brendon has one of the best voices of the 4. I am not discarding the fact the rest of them are immensely talented, but Brendon holds the #1 spot for me
What a pleasant comment :)
Muse (Matt's band) is a great band. In addition to obvious vocal skills, he's amazing at guitar and piano. Try "Exogenesis" 1-3 if you want to get a feel of his vocals and piano.
Kevin Ward oooohhh, he's the vocalist to Muse! Okay, okay, well that explains why he sounded familiar! And thanks dude, I'm gonna check that out right now!
Go listen to Muse, if you haven't already. You might very well like it :)
Vanessa H. K
Try one of Muses songs: Supremacy!
Brendon is a god let's be real here
Brendon Urie brand Dog Whistle™
YES
You could also get Mitch Grassi brand, I hear that's pretty good also and it recently came out in pink
+Tia Leung (The Cinna-PUN) YOU ARE FUCKING AMAZING
+teagan ward gotta do what I gotta do.
Also, it came out in blond, blond and black, and clear. Clear is the most recent one.
I think Brendon's vocals are insane! he's definitely the winner in my book. and not just because he's my lovely smol beebo
smol beeboo xD
gosh your profile picture is so sexy
I think Brendon won tbh , he can easily do really low notes to really high notes . especially high notes .. most people struggle with high notes but brendon can usually do them
and bren can hold out the notes
Is he even human tbh? 😂 because I can't even hit most of those notes, and I can sing soprano, alto and some tenor notes...
yes but Patrick has more control of them. Brenden can hit them, but has very little control over them. Patrick has complete control over his vocal range.
+MonsterBoyAP ~ MBAP I'm not saying he has no control, but he does over shoot quite a bit where as Patrick doesn't and that's because he knows his limits he can go higher I'm sure, but just won't because that's not what he does. same with Leto. I don't know the other guy so I can't speak on his behalf.
+louise ferrer this video just proved that Brendon can go lower than Patrick though.
Brendon or Patrick. They both can project their voices very well and Ofc sound amazing.
In bb4 patty was a ducking King. Like always. Same w beebo.
fucking Brendon
Sorry but Matt has the greatest voice. 3.5 octaves !!!!???
+Citizen Erased octaves might not be your best argument since Brendon's is four octaves and Patrick's is also around 3 and a half ;)

+Kayla Henden hah thank you ^_^
+noot noot it's the fandom police Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars... He's also a Hollywood actor
Well I always call them screamo type high notes lol. But he still has a very large range and this video didn't really serve him justice....
+Bea Almeda Hes one grammys and an oscar...
Long live Matthew, the king of the universe. He can hold those high notes for days. LISTEN TO SHOWBIZ/MICROCUTS/LIKE PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING MUSE HAVE EVER DONE.
YOU MAY OR MAY NOT AGREE WITH ME BUT FOR ME PATRICK STUMP HAS ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE VOICES ON EARTH....... AND P!ATD IS MY FAVORITE BAND FORVAAHHH BUT STILL..... PATRICK'S VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! SO IS BRENDON'S THO
I AGREE WITH U 90% TAKE OUT ALL THE STUFF U SAID ABOUT BRENDON AND YES!!! PATRICK WON NO DISAGREE!
sAAAme
He has a soul voice
yess
Your name is killing me 😂😆😭
I respect all these musicians but look at what Matt has to play guitar or piano while singing notes like that.
Celeste Marie so does Brendon sometimes
SpongeBob SquarePants I'm mainly saying Matthew's piano and guitar parts are much more complex and intricate.
Celeste Marie well that's pretty true
Bich please
Off Brand Bleach ???? what??? none of the others have to juggle piano and LEAD GUITAR at the same time. brendon might have the better sounding voice, but matt is far more talented
Brendon is the fucking KING.

Me before watching this video: Brenden better win we all know he has the widest range of like any singer ever..
Me after watching the video: Fuck yeah ..!
lol same
I wouldn't say any ever xD there's many who have wider ranges, but he's incredibly consistent
true
true
true
I think Matthew is a better vocalist than the rest. They all have amazing range and voices, but he seems to be the only one who can control it so very well when it's so very high WHILE keeping an intense amount of power behind it. If you want real evidence of this, just look up Micro Cuts.
couldn't agree more dude. young Matt Bellamy was incredible. I think Brendon learned much from him.
Agreed!!
+Wadsmitter Matt now has a much more refined voice. It feels much more stable than Showbiz/OOS, but it lacks that insanity young boy matt had.
Eddo Ertino learned much from him?BRENDONS IDOL IS FRANK SINATRA. Lmao yall Matt fans are toxic! You’re trashing Brendon and trying to make Matt seem like a god we all know everyone in this video is talented no need to prove it bitches!
@@lemongirl3846 LMAO, there's absolutely no one trashing Brendon in this particular thread, you need to calm the fuck down. The fact that Brendon's idol is Sinatra doesn't mean he didn't learn from other singers too - especially since he doesn't do his Sinatra stuff all the time. Brendon is my favorite of the four too but you're too sensitive, damn it.
Matthew
Just Matthew ... his control on high notes .... too talented
YES
def matthew mate his highest c#6 was live !!
stephon rampersad 2015 :D
My boy
I love them all, Matt and Brendon being my top picks to win. Muse is my favorite band. Brendon has some crazy high notes, and an insane vocal range. BUT. Matt can do some crazy things with his voice, and it sounds different from song to song. So, with his range, he makes things sound different, which is rather cool in my opinion.
+Capsfan pitt Do you think you could name the Muse songs in this video? I really loved them, and I'm not that familiar with the band (I only have like 5 of their songs), but I love Matt Bellamy's voice and really want the ones featured here.
+mara.iara I could try, um, I know the first one is Madness, and Animals is in there too, as well as Mercy, but I will try to figure them out. If you want any good song recommendations, I can give you some of those too. :)
Capsfan pitt Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. And yes, I'd definitely welcome any song recommendations :)

gosh I love Matt Bellamy's vibra
MAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT
Matt Vs Brendon was intense
Matt in mu opinion us better. Brendom is vera good, but for me matt is a god
I would have liked to have heard Muse's Micro Cuts go against these other songs, live and studio versions.
Matt Bellamy wins everything. He's a musical genius and Muse is an amazing band. I love all of them though, but Matt is my favorite
I can totally agree. I love matt, brendon, and Patrick, but Matt is the best
Totally agree👍
Agreed completely, he's so good, especially live.
finally! yes
+rathakitty no question bellamy is the best singer out there in the live
rock scene
Style is everything. I love Brendon and Early Matt Bellamy but they are completely different. I'd have to say Matt is probably more extreme and unique..not to say Brendon isn't unique but Matt sings in a musical style all of its own that he pretty much owns..Brendon is just an awesome pop/rock singer
BRANLAND totally agree. They should have a muse genre of music. Lol
@@katstat902 Muse is a genre wym
And Matt uses his high notes within his songs a lot, which is why there are no covers from him in this list. He really embraces every corner of his potential inside his songs.
In the end it just turned into a battle between Matt and Brendon
Lilly Austen and matt win In my opinion
@@GuilhermeSantos-gf7wg he will always win. Nobody can touch him. Even Corey Taylor

omg
corcorthefab that is actually what I thought when I first saw it

they all have incredible vocal ranges, but Brendon's voice just sounds better to me

Lyricoffee I just think when it comes to high and low register brendon has the best clarity with his words. Like you can understand what he's saying.
Same
well, he also has the largest range and immense vocal talent, so that’s no surprise.
Agreed
I can't speak to the others but Matt's voice live matches the performance in the studio, and that's very hard to do. I've seen him 7 or 8 times in arenas, stadiums, and festivals and he has never shied away from any high notes - and always hits them.
for me MATT BELLAMY wins .... yeah
2nd brendon
no ,patrick or brebdom
FUCK NO MATT BELLAMY IS A DUMBASS BITCH BRENDON URIE HAS WON THIS FUCKINGTHING!!
Emma Sheeran
Yeessssss
Matt pretty much nailed those high notes...
I personally like matt the best. Also, he's in his late 30's and is almost 40 and he can still hit those high notes.
For real! I saw him live last year and he was sti hitting those notes like crazy
Brendon is 35 now and he’s still hitting those crazy notes too
ok it's hilarious that the other three on the first one are serious and Brendon's is is fuckin 100th vine.
omg all my fav people. Tbh i've always though Matt's voice is the most amazing thing on earth, even though i love Brendon to death and agree he probably has the widest vocal range, the way Matt sings specially on shows is just...i don't have words lol. But i don't think you can compare them honestly, both have very different styles.
I want there to be a live competition, I bet Matt/Muse would win, because they sound so amazing live.
+Dulce Gonzalez And let's not forget how superior their songs' themes are. Others talk about love, and then you have Matt telling you about Orwell, the 2nd law of thermodynamics, atheism and politics.
+Ειρήνη Παπαδοπούλου Yeah, although they don't always have the best lyrics for it. I mean I love Exo Politics and the Album Drones etc. but some of it is just a bit strange and I can't take it as serious as I could've. But honestly, his technique and the instrumentals make that blend.
matts voice is the only one here who doesn't use auto tune so I think his quality is definitely the best.
Joseph Stephens None of these use autotune... Brendon's highest notes here are from live gigs, I just admit that his range is the widest. Still prefer muse over P!atD by a long shot.
I see a vocal range video with Matt bellemy and no microcuts I am confused
Thats because micro cuts really showcases his control in the upper ranges, not necessarily EXTREMELY high notes.
Also I think its the same high note as Showbiz so they picked that instead for the video
Brendon can do some crazy shit with his voice. His range is actually insane. His voice is just ridiculous in general. A very talented dude. The others are also amazing but when I saw Brendon live it was just wow. I couldn't believe half the notes he was hitting.
Matt is also a killer live. Not coincidence.

MATTHEW BELLAMY.
Patrick wins in my mind. He has amazing vocal range
He does have an amazing vocal range and to me, it's somewhat similar to Brendon's. I will have to say that Brendon won, but Patrick will be my favorite singer because he also has that wide vocal range and can hold a note out for a long time (Brendon too, but still)
+Hannacool21 ! Brendon is a great singer but I feel like Patrick can do so much with his voice. I also think that Patrick has the most original voice

Matt Bellamy is clearly the superior songwriter, instrumentalist and composer here though.
YES
Agreed, the dude was a prodigy on piano, vocals and guitar, he only refined his craft over time.
Yep. Even though I like Fall Out Boy and Panic! more than Muse, I agree.
That’s an opinion, I much prefer Brendon’s writing over Matt’s even though i am still a fan of his music
Adam Murray personal opinion.
My favorite is Matt's Bb5. It's brilliant xD What performance of Muscle Museum is that?
Search for "hey you crazy kids". Muse were basically told to perform playback but Matt managed to convince them to at least let him sing live. The result can be seen in the video ;)
+Norce555 Ah yes, the infamous "hey you crazy kids" audio. I've definately heard it before but thank you, I needed that in my life again. I kind of forgot such a masterpiece of a performance existed. One does not simply ask Muse to mime hahaha
I especially liked how for Matt all the high notes just became obscure live audio clips of him obviously just yelling into a mic again like he does at every live show.
I swear the dude has something wrong in his brain, but I like it.
everyones talking about brendon but can we just talk about matthew for a sec like holy fuck man, such talent
+Diego Pizarro I'm a Panic! fan, but Matt killed it. 🙌🏻
+Tsukki HOLY SHIT DO I SEE HAIKYUU
Alyssa C. NICE SERVE
***** HINATA BOKE
Alyssa C. OHOHOHO???
Brendon wins! plus love the background music (mcr yas) u should have added gerard in there
Sorry but he would have lost..
^^
+Ferz Hidalgo that picture tho
I love Gee, don't get me wrong, but his range doesn't even come close to any of these guys. He's got a great voice, but these guys would definitely have him beat.
+Jennifer Stump yeah true haha
Matt Bellamy is the most unique and his songs are A+. Plus he’s shredding on the guitar while singing. Brendan Urie could probably sing anything and sound good. The fact that he could sing Dream On and sound fantastic proves the man is a beast. Musicality goes to Matt, overall vocal range is Brendan.
Brendon*
@@francobriga4752 *Matt. The thing that sets Matt apart from any of these guys is that he's an absolute musical genius. His songwriting ability is incredible
Matt and Brendon should do a collab together XD
nOOO.
Matt Bellamy will always win for me, I respect other's opinions but he's the best in mine
after all he had the lowest note and was still 2nd in terms of high
Yessssssssssss matt all the way
Yeah, Matt wins
I think hes more skilled and his high notes sound better tbh.
Okay, so Brendon has the largest vocal range, but it sounds like Matt is able to hold high notes for the longest, and that makes this Muse fan very happy :)
But to be fair, I love them all, even though I don't know too many 30 Seconds to Mars songs.
Also, I really appreciate MCR in the background!! I was just listening to "Bulletproof Heart" right before this video.
In my opinion I'd say Patrick and Brendon both have close to the same range if not equal.... Then again I'm not very familiar with notes and ranges and such
FourS4ken 69 well every time you hear a note from a singer here, it's one step higher (or lower if you're at the low notes) than before. So while Patrick stops at G#5, Brendon goes 5 steps above that, which is quite a lot. And he goes two steps below Patrick in the low section as well (I've found new notes for both of them since then but the difference is pretty much the same)
+Norce555 Thanks for clarifying that for me! :)
FourS4ken 69 no its PATRICK not brendon
dude matts high vocals killlll number one is matt, second is brendon, honestly the other two idk why yhey even trying
Matt and Brendon are in 1st while Patrick's voice is stronger making him a 3rd though I can't say much about Leto
+*inhales* BOI Leto is extremely talented, but maybe not quite as good as the 3 others IMO.
PATRICK TRIES AT LEAST
Yes. Of course he won! He is Brendon fucking Urie! aka smal Beebo
smol*
I'd say brendon clearly has the range but i think patrick was cleanest in all the notes displayed.
Well said 👌
Brendan won.... look in the comments dude its so clear!
Everyone is saying Branden is the winner...
+Airhead MSP true...
same
MATTT WIINNNSS....ok fine it was a tie...I'm playing favorites here
it wasn't a tie, Brendon beat Matt by around half an octave.
Lol forgot the lower notes
Matt has a couple F♯2s out there.
+Florrmat All fry. And still doesn't reach the lows of the others.
Norce555 Growled, not fried.
He however does have a brief non-fry F#2 on Aftermath.
Vocal Ranking
4. Jared Leto
3. Patrick Stump
2. Brendon Urie
1. God
Everyone's getting terrifyingly protective of Brendon like calm your shit guys
nO WE MUST PROTECT OUR SON
Uhm no bitch we must protect our smol bean (sorry not trying to be mean I'm just sassy ad protective)
+dawn duplechein we must protect him
I understand tho brendon is our baby
+Eliza E *cough* it's because he uses auto-tune *cough*
Alright, let me do this as objectively as possible.
Low range: both Matt and Jared REALLY struggle in their lower ranges, and neither of them seem confident singing low live. Patrick, though he has good low notes on some days, is inconsistent in his lower register live, though seems quite confident down to about Bb2, which is impressive for a tenor. Then, there's Brendon, who not only has developed his lower range over the years, but has also steadily gained confidence in his notes below C3 live. Lows go to Brendon.
Belted notes (up to around D5): all four voices have strong belts, though Brendon suffers from too much tension, especially live. Patrick used to pull his voice a lot, but starting from his solo album got a lot better. Matt and Jared both use a great mix, though Jared sometimes forgoes healthy technique depending on the mood of the song.
Higher notes, either mix-belted or in head voice: Here is where Brendon's voice really starts to shine. Once he starts ascending to F5 and above, his timbre is really consistent, and the quality never lessens. Both Matt and Jared lose all depth and weight, except in screams. Patrick seems to vie for the healthier route and never tried for the top of his range, as it's obvious that G#5 was not the absolute limit.
Overall, Brendon has the most consistent voice from top to bottom, with a trouble spot near his passagio. Then, there's Patrick, with great technique, but a lackluster lower range live. Matt follows, with great high notes, but a somewhat hollow low range, and last is Jared, with a singularly WEIRD voice. If he sang using good technique all the time, I'm sure he'd be in third, or even second, but he throws his voice into places that would not be considered good for him.
+MartyHasNoLife Absolutely right about Matt, except that I'd argue he has some depth in his high notes, especially if you listen to something like Survival which has these rich notes at Eb5 and G#5, along with backing vocals that shows he could still do that piercing G#5 like in Showbiz at the time. But anyway, Matt definitely has the weakest lows.
I think we're getting fooled by Jared's intentional attempt at sounding cool though. He often uses really breathy technique for his lows, but then displays that he can hit G2s straight on in other contexts with a full sound. So honestly I think that's an artistic choice (and part of his admiration for Chino Moreno). His high range is literally just screaming though, ofc. But he definitely has the best Bb4-D5 range out of the bunch (I regret not picking for example his Bb4 in Kings & Queens for the video)
And yeah Patrick goes for safety and consistency (which still isn't enough because he already struggles to reproduce his songs live. Probably affected by hist asthma though)
And Brendon is just way above the rest imo. I mean he sustains both an E2 and a Bb5 outside of studio recordings. None of the other singers here even comes close to that. And his sound around F5-G#5 is great. (Check out their live performance of for example Personal Jesus)
He has very little strain at all lol, he uses mostly head voice after Bb4 cause he's a low tenor. is paasgio is probably at G#4 (actually obviously) and he can chest down to A2 since the beginging of his career. He's always showed off his G2 in old live shows, I'd say he has this weird Steven Tyler/judist priest thing going on were he likes to use mostly head resonance in his belt voice which is slightly healthier, but not as strong. although his A5 and G5 are insanely good. He's clearly the most experienced here lol
***** If you've ever heard him live and in-person (which I have), he does have a bit of trouble around his second passagio, and he tends to go all-out when he does belt, so his voice gets pretty ragged by the end of a 1.5 hour set. Anywhere from C5 and above, there's no issue, and he does use a lot more head resonance up to the top of his range.
And based on how his voice is set up, I wouldn't really call him a low tenor - more akin to a leggiero, at least in part. A lot of the signs are there - high passagio (G#4 is actually crazy-high for a tenor - F4-F#4 is more the norm), unusually potent low notes, and a high extension that lets him belt as high as a soprano. Add on to how naturally smallish his voice is, and he's either a plain lyric or a leggiero.
MartyHasNoLife I have and I've seen all his sets on CZcams his voice never gets raggid except in his newest sets cause he's been sick and his voice only gets raggid past G#4. If had any tension he wouldn't be able to put vibrato in an A5, trust me I'm a music major and sing and belt just as high as he does (a suprising amount of males do) and any tension at all makes vibrato impossible. Again he's very head resonant after Bb4 and that's why :)
I totally agree with you!
I love how above A5 it started to become mosquito parade.. And how the last round was a duel between Matt and Brendon... It's like watching some 4-way WWE match
I LOVE all of them
But
Matt Bellamy is a god and I pray to him every night
yeah, i agree, i just love brendon, but matt
matt is, you know
a fUCKING GOD???
