    Ducktective is a show about a duck who is a detective. However, he needs to solve the mystery surrounding all the strange happenings within the town. Also, halfway through the show it’s revealed that Ducktective has a twin who is able to get the drop on Ducktective, at which point it becomes something of a pissing contest between the two brothers for superiority. Ahem, I shall do my best to explain:
    This scene is just a wild part of a majestic fever dream of a man called Alex, who happened to encounter a dream demon. Said dream demon (let's call him Bill for simplicity) struck a deal with young Alex, allowing Alex to become the god of his own world, a place called Gravity Falls, so long as Alex allowed Bill to wreak havoc as he saw fit. This goes on well until the people in Alex's world become dissatisfied with Bill intervening, particularly an intelligent man named Stanford who at once had considered Bill a friend, but soon betrays Bill and becomes a problem for both Bill and Alex. They must work together to get Stanford out of the picture. One fight with his twin brother and an accident with a portal later, and Alex and Bill have won, leaving the less dangerous twin brother, Stanley, behind. That is until roughly 30 years later when another set of twins called Dipper an Mabel stumble into Alex's Kingdom one summer. Through several series of shenanigans and craziness, Dipper, Mabel and Stanley (who took on his twin Stanford's identity for nearly 30 years), among other friends, manage to outwit Alex and Bill. This upsets Alex and Bill, so they manage to make the summer stretch on for what feels like 4 years, as Dipper, Mabel and Stan slog through multiple different trials and mysteries. Eventually through sheer dumb luck they manage to break through Alex's god-like abilities and return Stanford back to their world. This causes Alex and Bill to escalate their plans, to keep their world under control, and eventually leads to a mini apocalypse called Weirdmageddon, in which Bill is ultimately defeated (or is he? 😉 ), and Alex is left powerless, and leaves his kingdom, giving up his god-like powers over the people of Gravity Falls. This allows time to return to it's normal flow, and the 4 year summer to officially end. As a result Dipper and Mabel must head home to their parents, but all is well as Bill has been defeated and Alex hasn't touched Gravity Falls since he lost his abilities when Bill was defeated.
    I hope that was a suitable explanation of this scene.
    The tax collector, I can't explain... 😥

    I honestly think most people who do these "show this to someone with no context" don't understand how the formula works. Like most others, this video seems to show a clip which perfectly stands on its own, instead of showing something that actually seems really odd out of context (like a snippet of the third act of a random episode, where you actually lack the in-episode context needed to understand what is happening). They also seem to always show an entire action, instead of cutting mid-way through a key moment - which makes any scene much funnier (for example, cutting this video to 0:13, as he is dropping the smoke bomb, would've made it much better).
    It's not that the clip itself isn't funny, it's just that lacking context doesn't make it funnier (in fact, I think it makes it less funny).

    I've never seen Gravity Falls so here's my take:
    This is clearly just Mr. Krabs but different. Instead of being Pirate themed, he's Mystic-themed. Instead of having a whale-daughter he adores, he has a 1980's son and daughter he... Well, idk if he adores his kids/grandkids but he at least let's them hang with him so.... 🤷‍♂️

    • @HoV326
      @HoV326 Před 2 lety +2

      You're not far off actually. You're mostly right.
      So Stan (the old guy) is an owner of a small museum that is called the Mystery Shack and it's themed around cryptids and the supernatural. The exhibits are phony, but he manages to make money off it through overpricing and basically conning people (and occasionally committing tax evasion, tax fraud, and counterfeiting, which he got the two kids involved in once).
      The two kids, by the way, are actually not his son and daughter, but his niece and nephew. Their names Dipper and Mabel. He's pretty tough on them (mostly Dipper) but he does actually deeply care about them (putting aside the fact he once pit them against each other in a competition to see who got to have the secret room as their bedroom and taping them fighting-- even though Dipper was possessed at that time-- with the intent to make money off it). There was a time he took them fishing because he genuinely wanted to spend time with them and another time and admits that he's tough on Dipper because he wanted to toughen him up and make him stand up for himself and others.
