A gritty drama about a mother and her two sons who work hard to make the best of life in one of Africa's largest slums Kibera while still trying to help others.
7 years later and the script is still tight. I love that there's no time to think through but instead process the whole story and eagerly anticipate what's next. The acting is also quite awesome. I bet you a lot of rehearsal was needed to form that kind of bond. If not then these people must be really good to have that chemistry. Am half way on the movie and I can already say it's a special one. Big up to the entire cast, pre and post production as well as anyone who gave an input both directly and indirectly.
Who noticed that "Kamau" is Paul Ogutu aka Paul wa Kimani of churchil show? So he was this tiny back then huh, enyewe in life you have to start from somewhere
I just re-watched Nairobi Half life and am impressed by how creative the producers were and what they achieved base on the technological advances present at the time of production. It's a movie that actually depicts what happens in most, if not all the urban centres in the developing world. I however feel that there's still room for improvement. In that, that was a single movie but there could be an opportunity to mKe a sequel of the same. The movie covered a wide range of topics, from leadership, corruption, culture, entertain, crime, role of women in the society, business, I mean, all these highlighted areas could give rise to a sequel. From Dingo running his gang, assembly of it, The executing law enforcers at the end, how they run their business, those business communities that take advantage of the jobless youths to exploit them into flourishing their own, (negotiating the corolla spare parts from 4k to 7k)... Such areas could be further exploited and several storylines come up from it... There's more that Oti n his gang could do in a sequel to the point of reformation before the final confrontation with Dingos gang.... Good work though... More to come and big up to the producers...
Mogendi James 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 it takes a keen eye to notice such similarities. For the record Ghetto heaven was released before the above mentioned film, we have a copyright certificate dated 16th June 2010. Please go check when the said film was released and then revise you comment.
@@SanaaZoteTV I've just watched the run and honestly not much has been covered on the Ghetto Heaven. I've watched a sequel running for 33minutes only... if you can get me a link for the whole film...
Ma Boyz wawili wa MOI FORCES ACADEMY Nime Waona Hapo.. Gilbert Lukalia n huyu boyz mwingine Nime sahau jina yake.. Huyo Santo's.... Big up brother's... Regards from Tom Parsaloi Millia former mfarian pia.. Best of luck
Oti aka Godfrey Odhiammbo,, was my primary school drama teacher. He has featured in many films (like Ni sisi, Ndoto za Elibidi etc). He's worked under organizations like Anno's Africa and one fine day films. The fact that we don't promote our kenyan actors, not helping them realize their potential and talent. If you happen to visit Kibera you'll him bana ako tu. Alot of drinking, maybe juu ya depression. Maybe tukifind solution ya kusave Kenyan film industry, maybe tunaeza get part 2 ya ghetto heaven. Good piece bytheway
Wonderful show, very authentic, captivating story-line as well, i hope one day we shall have bold tv channels wiling to air this type of content the the viewers actually yearn for. Good job.
This is really good! Kamau is really powerful...infuses real emotions in his acts! Oti is a natural (What is his real name btw? I feel I know seen him offscreen from somewhere :-)). Kamau's mother is a real pillar that helps the other characters exhibit their acts in a special way (her experience is showing through_thumbs up). What I would suggest is to you Mr Series creator (Kabash?), is to involve different writers to develop your story. This is gold. I also think deepening the actors voices (artificially of course), just so slightly, will help invoke more power out of their acts The altercation between Santos and Oti at 13:00 is a pointer to how deeper voices can make this series a bullion hot! Kamau should speak more calmly when he is angry, let us see his anger and keep his voice under control (his tenor goes notches higher when he shouts). Santos (his voice is power packed), Rebecca...all the other acts seem to have really put in some serious work! Thumbs up! The high you have started us off on this, you please have to maintain it. I will watch and share this. Real Good!
Kamaa umeweza, apo unatoa ngaji law pool table ni wagwan, lakini iyo stori ya " kunyaganywa " dame sielewi vile kulienda na vile Sisi akina kamau ni wanoma na wao
