My favorite part about this episode was the end credits

It didn't bother me that my daughter was sat there watching Instagram reels with the volume up whilst I was watching acolyte. It actually enhanced the experience
Despite it being old news, it's still frustrating how newer Star Wars products often rehash older plots, tropes, and iconography. Much of this show feels like a worn-out, repackaged concept from previous ideas.
Equally frustrating is the writers’ insistence on stretching the timeline of events in both directions, while shoehorning in derivative protagonists and antagonists who ultimately need to become irrelevant to the main characters in the older movies. For instance, the return of the Sith was made out to seem inconceivable in the prequels, which directly contradicts the introduction of this new antagonist in the show.
What I appreciated about Andor is its ability to largely forgo these tired ideas. It capitalizes on the notion that these events take place in an expansive universe with diverse happenings, without the need to create impactful characters who are simultaneously irrelevant enough to not be mentioned in earlier films or episodes.
This is the filler of the filler episodes. Talking about streching a (bad) show...
I like The Acolyte and especially that it’s continuing the idea in TLJ of democratizing the force. I also generally like the characters, esp Sol, the sisters, and Sol’s padawan.

I watched a few episodes of season 1 of the mandalorian while at the dentist this morning. Was a nice reminder of when their shows werent complete shite.

After Mando Season 2, pacing in all Disney shows has been terrible. The weekly release schedule actually massively hurts the reception of each episode individually and the entire season altogether. If you watch Kenobi on one or two goes, it’s a surprisingly good mini-series. But the weekly pacing destroyed the reception at release.
Acolyte has done nothing to change my mind in that department.
Just watched new rockstar’s breakdown of the episode and he mentioned that Leslie was influenced by Rian Johnson. So that explains a lot.
