Thanks for making this video. Always found the ELRS in the x12 a bit sketchy. I just put in an external ELRS receiver by Happymodel on my x12. The range is much better now. Atleast, i don’t see the numbers go down as quickly.

Great work! 👍👍 700m is pretty remarkable for 5.8ghz 250mw transmission in Singapore with high humidity and high RF noise floor. In the past, my friend had went out to 5km with 5.8ghz 200mw transmission, but that was flying out of mainland over the sea at 200ft high and with my home-made 14db pepperbox antenna on the sky zone Goggles.

Excellent test. I believed that the first of those LQ 7:100 numbers should go down before the second number goes down quickly from completely losing signal and the drone crashes. I still don't understand these numbers very well. :(

First number is the packet rate, 7=500hz 6=250hz, 5=200hz, etc. Those don't change unless you manually select a different packet rate. The second number is the percentage of packets that the Rx is receiving. At a packet rate of 500hz, 100 obviously means you are receiving all 500 packets each second. 99 would be 495 packets. Eventually you drop so many packets that you no longer have smooth control or enough packets in a row get dropped to put the drone into failsafe. Pretty sure Betaflight's default failsafe is 0.1 seconds of inactivity, so at 500 hz you would need to drop 50 packets in a row before you would failsafe.

I was flying it at 500Hz@250mw as mentioned in the video bro. I wanted to see how far that can bring me. If I wanted a long range set up, I would set it with larger packet rates like 250Hz or lesser. Hope that answers ur question?
