    Wow in 9.15 minutes I don't think I've learned so much about ancient history. So concise, so plain speaking and related to the relics we all still recognise today.

    LOVE that he pointed out that (and how) the earliest Egyptian pyramids were copied from the Sumerians. The earliest Egyptian pyramids were named Saqqara, essentially adapted from the Sumerian word Ziggurat.

    I reviewed Dr. Neiman’s website, may he rest in peace, and I was impressed by his credentials. However I still respectfully disagree with his conclusions and believe that there are profound implications regarding these issues that need further exploration. I wish that I could have accessed his thoughts and I like to correspond with scholars and if he were still with us I would email him. Thank you for your respectful response.

    As an Sumerologist I have profound disagreements with his lecture and have even written on the ziggurats and the pyramids, they are wholly unrelated for many reasons which I cannot touch on here. However, I will say that there are other items in this lecture which I find to be incorrect. I do not know the background of Dr. Neiman but I do wonder where he taught and for how long. I believe that this incorrect information needs to be corrected at some point.

    My reservations: 1. He claims that the Sumerians built the ziggurats
    because they couldn´t live without a mountain.
    That is very misleading, the ziggurats had a history of developement
    of their own. They started as single story buildings on a raised platform. (see the famous ANU temple in Uruk) The tradition of using old buildings as the new fundament helped the following buildings to grow taller over time. Oh and, since they built their towns along rivers they had to deal with recurring floodwater so building the important buildings on platforms totally makes sense.
    He also states that ontop of the ziggurats there were
    "the temple, a community hall, a public place, the court of the town and so on..."
    Since when? All those buildings apart from a temple were grouped around the ziggurat, not ontop.
    Next: The way he draws a ziggurat is totally weird and
    reminds more of the painting by van Valckenborch or biblical illustrations than what the archaeological record shows.
    Next, E-GAL "The Great House" was used for the administrative centre of the town, which later turned into the seat of the ruler.
    Next: He claims they used the sign KUR to designate their territory.
    But KALAM was the word they used for their land, KUR was used for mountain, the underworld, the east, foreign land, land in general (LUGAL KUR-KUR-RA = Ruler of all the Lands), .
    Next: He claims the step pyramid of Djoser was influenced by Sumer because bricks. Ignoring the fact that pyramids developed out of Mastabas, that were built with mud bricks.
    All in all what he talks about are outdated theories that heavily lean towards the bible, which is not surprising since he was a biblical scholar.

  • @michaelgermanovsky1793

    Why didn't Egyptians think right away to build with bigger stones, if the purpose of using those bigger harder stones is to build faster?
    And why did Sumerians never built with bigger stones, or did they prefer to work slower or couldn't make bigger mud bricks?

    Maybe they made the stone into bricks at the place where they found the stones, so they could make a human line from the stones to the piramid, and pass the bricks hand to hand, bricks will come in handy then, easier weight. So they dealt with a kind faraoh? or didnt they had the transport tools or knowledge to get this stone to the pyramid, in that period.. or maybe they were in a business setting to show the rest of the world they had these bricks, and enough more bricks to sell if wanted, sort of sending the workers out with the bricks, and make a fortune.. it could be anything I guess lol

    They came from Arrata, or Aarrat. Saqqara pyramid is exactly like the Sumerians, because the first people led by Mizraim or Misr journeyed south when the languages were changed by the Almighty God as recorded in the Word.

    7:10. Dr Neiman forgot an important point about alphabets when he finds Seqoyah's writing a little funny. Although the English alphabet appears to have only 26 symbols, one has to learn the different combinations of these symbols that produce the sounds of English words. For example, the 'sh' in 'English', the 'ch' in chip. That is just the same as learning a new symbol for that combination in Seqoyah's system. Seqoyah's system wasn't weird. It was more consistent than English spelling, in fact

  • @KH-pg8sx

    Incorrect at 3:15. The Sumerians never stated they were from Turkey but they did establish their Kingdom there before Egypt, they were in fact Kushites of Ham. Both groups describe themselves as "black" headed people. The Akkadians were of the Semetic black race of "negroes", but both groups interacted. Abraham was a Akkadian. Shalom.

      +7phoenician7 +7phoenician7 The only thing superior in this conversation is your ignorance ... Ill break it down for you. The Sumerian word for Hair = MALU, the Sumerian word for Head = SAM. I guess your primitive to know that they knew difference ...Therefore ... your attempt at propping European Supremacy has failed... Was it not Black Africans (Moors) that brought Europe out of the Dark Ages ... At a time when Europe had 2 universities, the Moors had 17. You know nothing about the ancient "African" colonizers the Asiatic black mans DNA doesn't lie.

      ***** The only thing "racist" is the continuous misinformation that Europeans have spread for generations, it has nothing to do with hate its all about facts. The true "racist" are those who cover up history and claim it to be theirs. Their favorite has been stating claim to the great and ancient "African" history. Anyone can pick up old history book or even dictionary and see how the true "racist" European historians portrayed others. I also have my Bachelors degree , you cannot demean my intelligence.

    • @KH-pg8sx
      @KH-pg8sx Před 8 lety

      ***** Race is proven through language culture and DNA. :Linguistic Facts: "Hausa relationships with Ancient Egyptians is obvious since the first studies in the beginning of the 20th century: Werner Vicychl, 1938 made this relationship certain by making 200 to 300 comparisons with Ancient Egyptian." The Hausa are BLACK and live in Nigeria/Cameroon. Also Anyone can take a look at the 25 dynasty of Egypt whom say they reclaimed the land of their ancestors. They are were Black. Can you prove that any of your European languages have 200/300 comparisons.

    • @KH-pg8sx
      @KH-pg8sx Před 8 lety

      ***** We can agree that the Egyptians and the Sumerians looked the same. Black! Facts:People of Sumer would be best described as Mesopatamians. They called themselves sag-giga (black headed people). According to Berrosus a Babylonian historian from 300 BC, they were black faced foreigners. You are debunked!

    • @KH-pg8sx
      @KH-pg8sx Před 8 lety

      7phoenician7 Lets try your logic again and watch it fail! The SUMERIAN word for HAIR = MALU. THE SUMERIAN work for HEAD = SAG. Hair exist all over your body. They called themselves SAG-GIG-GA which mean BLACK HEADED PEOPLE.. Now if your going to sit here LIE as I look in the mirror I have a FACE, EARS, and HAIR ALL on My Head. Your lack of intelligence is embarrassing at this point.
