The BEST part about fishing on the Yankee Capts Head Boat is most definitely the style of fishing. Bait fishing, slow pitch jigging AND even Japanese Tai Rubber Fishing aka fishing with an Eye Drop Jig! Before our trip 100+ miles into the Gulf of Mexico we met up with our friends at Jyg Pro Fishing for purpose of learning more about slow pitch jigs and how they work. We had a pretty fun lesson regarding exactly how the eye drop jig works its magic. To our surprise, we have been using it WRONG this entire time yet we were still catching fish on it. With the proper technique we could only begin to imagine how much better this crazy looking jig would work. We had no doubt that this technique could catch tuna, snapper, grouper, barracuda and more.

I’ve caught 30-35 inch halibuts using tai rubber in Korea! Tai rubber is huge deal in Korea and obviously Japan! Great video twins!

All those tangles every time you reel up is the reason I avoid head boats. Too many people trying to fish and half of them are clueless. But you girls are killing it. Can’t wait for episode 3 for this trip.
I think the twins get special attention from the mates, but after 4 attempts at these off shore excursions on party boats, I swore never again. SO frustrating.

Those Japanese kaburas are Snapper and Grouper killers! One of my favourite type of jigs.
Glad someone else knows what they are. Kabura/Kohga/Kachi Kachi Dama depending on brand. I'll be using mine tomorrow in the GOM for red snapper.

So I was just using the eye drop jig in NJ and was also using it like a slow pitch jig yet still caught fish. Let’s see if this works for tuna and tilefish later this month. Thanks for the how-to ladies 🙌🏾

I always thought it was the swim bladder that blows up are you sure its the stomach but anyway you woman are killing it im from the UK but soon i will be buying a sailboat or a yacht and sailing over to Miami then over to Bimini its all thanks too you guys and ppl like Stanz fam, BlueGabe, Kelly young, and LandShark and not forgetting Jamaican Mick..

great video nice red grouper really cool fish and love the guy in the red shirt that was to the left of you that was fishing with his spinning rod upside down with the reel on top instead of the bottom of the reel always get a good laugh when I see people trying to catch fish like that. Somebody should be nice and tell him the right way to use that reel.

You guys were fishing some deep water; Is the color of your lure of choice ever an issue when fishing that deep ?? I would Think all White or Chartreuse would be the only colors that stand out that deep . Great video :-)

We are getting ready to set out on Americas great loop. Fishing is going to be a part of our weekly diet. Is there a nation wide fishing license?
That sounds so fun! Safe travels! You will need to get a fishing license depending on what state you are currently in. Each state has their own regulations based on species.

I'm wondering if you could possibly tell us how much a trip like this typically costs. what all is included? do you need to bring your own rods/bait/etc... and how much are the hidden costs (tips and things like that). this information is just as valuable to me as is knowing how to catch the fish :)

Are these guys are telling my granpa you need around 60-100 pound floro carbon leader for fishing in like 150 feet of water and I feel like that’s too much,how much would y’all use for 150-200 deep in the golf of Mexico ?
We use 40-50lb leader for bottom fishing for snapper grouper etc

Saltwater fishing is way different than freshwater can’t wait till I get to go been on a boat since I was in diapers me and the kids just got our captain license I was in the PBOBI Make a Wish Tournament for 15 years loved every minute of it fixing to hit the lakes and load the boat with fish crappie, white bass, black bass, strippers, hybrids, blues and channel cats
