  • How To Fish with Outriggers - Full trolling spread for offshore fishing!
    We have been waiting to make this video for you all and it's finally here! Thank you for requesting it 😊 You may notice that even we don't fish with outriggers all the time. However, there is a time and a place for everything! Below we have listed some great reasons to fish with outriggers! We hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful!
    1. Rough seas! If it's too rough to run around and look for weeds, birds and fish this is a great way to go a comfortable speed while always keeping a line in the water.
    2. You want to take it easy! This is a set it and forget it type of fishing. Of course, it's always good to check your baits from time to time but once you get your spread out you can sit back, relax and wait for the bite!
    3. It's winter in Southeast Fl! For those of you that fish out of Southeast Florida fishing with riggers can be very beneficial! There is no need to be running out to 1000' ft of water to find fish. In the winter time the fish run in tight and shallow! Once you get outside of your inlet, it's time to put your riggers out and set up your spread. We have caught mahi, sailfish and tuna within 200' of water in the winter. So what better way to fish than trolling up and down the coast this time of year!?
    4. You want to try something new!! It's no secret that there are many different and effective ways to catch fish! Everyone thinks their way is the BEST way and the ONLY way but we all know that that's not true. So let's all get out there and experiment with different colors, lures and baits! Learn a new skill and have some fun with it!

    Sitting around with my grandchildren, 11 and 6 years old, with deep interest in your video “outriggers.” Can’t say enough about how well you teach, instruct and demonstrate. Even my young fishermans’/boaters’ interests are kept focused. Thank you ladies! You are both a super blessing. I love sharing family learning experiences like this.

    I like how you have your tension-er up high so it doesn't interfere with your ability to fight the fish all the way around the boat.

    • @t26803
      @t26803 Pƙed 3 lety

      Keep the boat moving and the fish will always be behind it. Same as trolling with anything, Planner boards, or flat lines, leaded line or downriggers. No reason the fight all around the boat when not at anchor and boat is moving. as well as you will have a serious mess with all them lines out letting the fish have control.

    ole seawitch been around a long time. Used to sell in Kmart for $2.00. That kmart went under water by 4 feet and they had fish swimming in the Store. Sandra Bullock used the closed store in her Forces of Nature movie. Now a Home depot Store. That was a hellacious storm that day. we got clobbered by huge hail and then it just poured down cats and dogs for hours on end. Savannah was totally flooded.

I see a lot of outrigger videos that are rigged to the gunnels, but yours are to the t-top - can I ask you why you chose up top? easier to walk by? is there a performance function difference between the two spots?

    It’s funny how different species react to catch and release. I’m a freshwater fisherman so it’s obviously different....but largemouth bass will almost always swim away with enthusiasm, same with brookies and most sunfish. But pike (the most badass looking fish in the lake) are the biggest softies by a long shot. If you hook one a little funny and take a minute to get him lose, a pike will sit in one spot for minutes on end getting its bearings back before swimming away. Same thing with rainbows. Any length of time and you *have to* revive them or they’ll just go belly up and float downstream...no bueno...
