  • This documentary trilogy presents the scientific case for intelligent design. UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF LIFE reveals compelling evidence for design at the level of molecules and cells. The PRIVILEGED PLANET explores the depths of the cosmos in a memorable search for purpose in the universe. DARWIN'S DILEMMA considers the geologically-sudden appearance of dozens of major complex animal types in the fossil record without any trace of the gradual transitional steps Charles Darwin had predicted.

    According to a New York Times article by Svante Pääbo, the evolutionary geneticist at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany who first mapped the Neanderthal genome - the DNA blueprint. He says that the differences between two individual humans living today can actually be greater than the differences between most humans and most Neanderthals, genetically speaking.

    Phillip Johnson: ""I approach the creation-evolution dispute not as a scientist but as a professor of law, which means among other things that I know something about the ways that words are used in arguments." . Well, that rests science's case in this respect and with regards to P. Johnson: evolution is, intelligent design isn't.

      Well, I can answer this one: "Natural selection is or is not like artificial selection which leads the existing generation to evolution?"
      Natural selection is most definitely *not* like artificial selection. Artificial selection requires an intelligence pushing buttons, besides natural selection. So there is an extra factor. We, humans, engage in artificial selection (dogs).
      And Natural Selection doesn't _lead to_ Evolution. *It's always evolving*. Natural selection is *part of* Evolution.

      Will ID bring us the next new miracle drug?
      Will ID bring us new discoveries in science?
      Will ID bring us new technology?
      Will ID bring us a better understanding of our universe?

    Below is an extract of Behe's (ID’s Expert Witness) cross-examination from the Dover Trial
    Q. now you have never argued for Intelligent Design in a peer reviewed scientific journal, correct?
    Behe - no, I argued for it in my book.
    Q. not in a peer reviewed scientific?
    Behe - that's correct.
    Q. and, in fact, there are no peer reviewed articles by anyone advocating for Intelligent Design supported by pertinent experiments or calculations which provide detailed rigorous accounts of how Intelligent Design of any biological system occurred, is that correct?
    Behe - that is correct, yes

    • @TheWazup999
      @TheWazup999 Před 8 lety

      No it doesn't because the exact opposite should happen because of natural selection. Also we still have some traits from our ape ancestors that we haven't gotten "rid" of yet, hence the tail bone. Our ancestors had tails, and those characteristics are still with us to this day.

    • @TenHanded
      @TenHanded Před 8 lety +1

      +Pyroxidy - The coccyx is not a tail, nor is it a useless leftover from when humans were another form. It is a vital part of the human frame as modern science is finding out.
      As for cancer, that must be linked to man-made poisons in the atmosphere, in foods and other stuffs. For example, thousands of very large nuclear weapons have been exploded in the upper atmosphere, in the sea and underground over the years - the poisons of which naturally find their way into our breathable air, our land and our water. The list of pollutants is endless and these pollutants were all 'intelligently' designed by man. I wouldn't blame God for mankind's errors.

    • @TheWazup999
      @TheWazup999 Před 8 lety

      TenHanded Explain why human embryos grow tails, that dissolve later on in development. Also people have been dying from cancer for centuries, before "pollutants poisoned" the air. For fucks sake, the sun causes cancer. Would an intelligent, all knowing, omniscient being, do something like that? And the list that "disproves" intelligent design goes on forever, I can name 100s of flaws within intelligent design.

    • @TenHanded
      @TenHanded Před 8 lety +1

      Pyroxidy - Mankind has been doing things that causes damage to his natural state for just as many centuries.
      I don't think the Sun is to blame. Scientists can show that sunscreens are the problem, along with the popular hobby of lying down under the sun for hours at a time in order to change ones natural skin colour. There are possibly pollutants in the cream, plus people stay out in the sun too long causing damage to their skin because the cream makes it feel like no harm is being done. Hats, clothes and shade can all prevent the burning and damaging of skin.
      Though I wouldn't be surprised if those upper atmosphere nuclear tests I mentioned caused some damage to the atmosphere's protective layers that guard the earth from the sun.

    You can talk for 10 hours how you 'feel' something is design, doesn't make it so. You can't deny the evidence, so if you really want to put a designer on single celled life, what makes you think that designer had us in mind, then suddenly cares what we eat, drink, who we sleep with and when, how we live, how we spend our time on a sunday, etc. I just can't fathom we're still having these discussions in the 21th century. I feel sad that I live in a time of such childish ignorance.

    It's impossible to argue with a dullard, someone who refuses to acknowledge G-d. They refuse to read and study Torah, refuse to see that the Messiah of Israel completed all requirements to be the only possible Savior of mankind. The people in these videos represent a small number of scientists and physicists who have learned that all of their studies lead to intelligent design. Most of us are not that talented or educated, and we have to rely on HaShem to guide us to him, which He will do if we ask. Avraham believed G-d and it was counted to him as righteousness.

  • @NealeBaxter

    "Intelligent Design" amounts to nothing more than an _argument from ignorance._
    "We don't (yet) know something, therefore for unspecified reasons it must be God".
    "We don't understand complexity, therefore for unspecified reasons it must be God".
    "We don't understand the bacterial flagellum, therefore for unspecified reasons it must be God". Understand, a lack of knowledge, is not knowledge.
    If you compute the fractal dimensions for things we know to be designed, because we are the designers, then these have a low fractal dimension. On the other hand, things that we have not designed have higher fractal dimensionality. The hallmark of design is actually *_simplicity,_* not complexity. I think most of us have heard of the "KISS" principle (Keep it Simple, Stupid), we don't design for things to be as complex as possible, we design for things to be as simple as possible. Overly complex design is poor design, it unnecessarily produces more opportunity for failure.
    More complex things disperse energy much more efficiently than simpler things, and so actually work better to facilitate entropy, indicating that entropy is actually the impetus driving local complexity.
