This is the one death in Eastenders that has actually got to me. It's the cruelest scene I've seen so far in any soap opera. I'm actually surprised Ronnie hasn't topped herself.
She has done since you wrote this, both her and Roxy drowned in swimming pool after she married Jack
STEPHEN DUNCAN Roxy had a cardiac arrest in the water, and Ronnie drowned trying to save Roxy
10 years later and I’m still in my feelings
There's no way if this happened in real life ronnie wouldn't of committed suicide I just dont see how you could carry on
100% cruelest scene ever
this is prob one of the saddest scenes of eastenders, it's one of the very few things if watch and have tears in my eyes
Agreed…I was in tears it was so heartbreaking
Its ronnies scream the end that gets me everytime
Rhys Still Are You Still Alive ?
Same I'm crying so much there are tears dripping on my clothes
Yes I'm the same
Sam Womack's acting here is just Brilliant!
Not really she had all the time in the world to move out the way.
@@christhecripplercrossfaceb6017 that isn't sam womack lol
@@stevewood238 lmao I thought it was.
@@Natalia-mh9ru the person who doesn't move out of the way is Lauren crace
@@Natalia-mh9ru of course he was talking about her she is the one who needed to move out of the way isnt she ?
Samantha Womack is one hell of an actress!!!!
best ever.
Agree she was amazing
She’s ok
She's better than ok
You can really feel her pain and as a parent, I connect with her performance so well. Such a sad storyline, but acted out amazingly
This clip cut out Ronnie harrowing scream at the end which just tied everything together. This will forever be the storyline which sticks with me, the writing and acting was absolutely phenomenal. 10 years later and I am still heartbroken.
I won’t ever get over this death 🥺
@@jvndoe5632 mean either 😭😭
This storyline still pisses me off to this day. They dragged it on for months, and when Ronnie finally finds out the truth, they kill off Danielle. Ronnie really couldn't catch a break in Eastenders. She loses her daughter, her son died of SIDS a few days after being born, she tragically drowns on her wedding day after trying to save her sister. I wish she was allowed just one crumb of happiness.
Soap logic for you
Oh but wasn’t it great back then compared to now? Having Peggy, pat, Frank, Ronnie and Roxy and all the rest. I miss those days of Eastenders so much!
This episode busted up my heart. Ronnie was always my favourite 💖 and she never got a break
I never forgave Diederick Santer for this, the then executive producer of EE - as he just seemed to like shock value for shock value's sake- a lot of stories from his era followed this pattern- dragged out for months and then no real pay off...
Of course this is just my opinion but I stand by it
This story line went for over a year, can honestly say after this episode after watching eastenders since early 2000s, I never really watched it again
Hands down the saddest eastenders moment ever :-(
Agree
The scream gives me shivers till this day
Even after all these years, this still makes me emotional..
This was just damn tragic... They had us going, and then just killed off Danielle... Seriously, they went too far (Although with Ronnie, they always end up going too far)
Ironically, I was around 10 or 11 when this was broadcast, and it still affected me in a bad way...
I agree completely! I was gutted when they killed Danielle oof and then they made MASSIVE MISTAKE killing off Ronnie and Roxy WTF! were they thinking.
this storyline affected me an awful lot. it still affects me and this still upsets me.
+Leah Simmons SAME HERE!!! OMG!!!!
i remember watching this - this really got to me! so cruel - Eastenders shouldn't have killed her off!! Ronnie actually could have been happy for once!
🔪🔫
Georgina Lewis Ronnie is such a drama queen and she shits herself well
Because she was already dying
+lesley mbuyi kayembe yes but she could of got some help
The real nail in the coffin was James dying too.
For me, this is the most memorable moment in eastenders. They cut this scene at bit short but Ronnie let's out a harrowing scream right before the duff duff
That scream is just heartbreaking!
Fr I just watched this episode on BBC iplayer and that part absolutely killed me, you could really feel the pain especially the final shot with stacey, janine and roxy in tears
heartbreaking when she says mum then dies
Danielle Jones has to be one of the few most "tragic heroines" in EastEnders. She had a big heart which most the other characters in the show don't really have and that's what got her killed.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually feel sorry for not just Danielle or Ronnie. I feel very sorry for Janine. Even though she's kinda a villain to everyone else, I know this was something she truly didn't mean to do.
Emily Ann Janine is evil always driving in car run over Danielle also sad it is gone Ronnie is upset
And the Janine teamed up with archie, she didnt feel guilt.
English People... English!🤦🏿♂️
@@shgarli45 What do you mean by English People? What the hell? It's a soap opera silly person you are
@@starflower9015 I was referring to the comments above and how they seem to be talking gibberish.
Sounds like someone needs to learn "Comprehension" before they go around the net calling strangers 'Silly'.
#dontyoulookabellend
imagine how different ronnie's life would've been if this didn't happen :(
All the actors acted so well in this scene. It brings tears every time I watch it...
ronnies acting is so good in this
Ahh this gets me everytime, very powerful indeed! Brilliant acting, just brilliant!
Lauren Crace was brilliant as well, the way she looks at Ronnie 00:07 like she finally believes her was so touching and when Danielle say's "mum" that must have been heartbreaking for Ronnie, like a knife through her heart.
This scene is truly heartbreaking to watch!
Can't believe Ronnie and Roxy are gone. heartbroken
im dead man its so sad

ing I'm soo pissed off they were my favorite and the actor playing Ronnie was amazing

0:03 when Ronnie said "Baby", bought me happiness, until it got taken away 🥺
she just stood there in the middle of the road
she's stupid she could of moved
Becky Gibbins maybe she did that as revenge 2 make Ronnie feel.guilty? Or she felt bad for trying 2 snatch little Amy Xx
no its shock like somtimes when ur in shock u aren't thinking she was probably thinking ooh shit a car and was in lots of shock honestly
bluee 222358 yeah true seems odd thing 2 do although she was probably so upset she wasn't thinking straight Xx
yh probz
Ronnie was dealt so many blows on this show, then they go and kill her off by horiffic drowning as she watched his sister drown first.
Ronnie is an amazing actress
Samantha Womack
Samantha Womack acting is asboutely brilliant this scene had me in tears 😢 😭
Ronnies screams make me shudder (like I don't know, not many things make me feel that way, but She did), If I don't take a deep breath I end up crying everytime!!! even after all these years =[ so glad Ronnie is back tho x
The one thing that strikes me in this scene is the impact on Stacey... What people might not know is that people with a parent with dipolar disorder are always at risk of developing the condition. All it takes is a single traumatic incident to trigger it.l. Her mental health suffered greatly after this moment and I believe it was watching one of her best friends die and hearing Ronnie's screams that did it.
The acting of danielle and Ronnie in this scene is amazing, really phenomenal
An amaizing piece of acting that had us all rolling in the isles. I'll always remember this scene...
Couldn't agree more, I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of Eastenders but this scene was assembled and performed immaculately; I'll never forget it.
biggest mistake killing Danielle. :'( still makes me sob x
i cried when danielle died it was so sad and ronnies screams made me cry even more
I cried that same shrieking cry Ronnie did when she said ‘she’s dead’ when my Chihuahua died…RIP Mylo..🖤
Probably the best piece of acting I've ever seen on eastenders from Ronnie! Incredible
this is the saddest eastenders ending ever.. every time i watch it... when she screams she's dead!! i start cryin
Samantha Womack is such a pro actress! I love actors like this who take their acting seriously and they make their scenes seem so real. Like this one especially some great acting from Sam as well as Lauren Crace (Danielle)
With Ronnie they just made her a character of eternal sadness, and she never got a happy ending, or even many signs of happiness...
A bit like Pauline in some senses, was downtrodden, originally was quite bubbly, but unlike Pauline where it was years of misery, it was certain events with Ronnie, this being one of them.
Well she got married to Jack, and then drowned in a swimming pool shortly after with her sister
2nd most upsetting scene in eastenders history. 1st being Bradley's death, that just got crying so much!!! so did this one.
This is the only eastenders death scene that still affects me to this day.
This was one of the saddest scenes in eastenders I remember bawling my eyes out 😢
This still gets me every time.
This made me cry so much
This scene makes me cry so much! I don't tend to cry at anything, but this scene gets to me so much.
im still crying :(
My eyes were filling were watering from this scene!😭😪😥
Cryed when this aired and im crying again now
Please tell why you would look at a car for 5 seconds and not move out the way
That's what I thought
1. Everything must have happened so fast in her point of view, she didn't know what to do.
2. She couldn't see what was happening properly as her eyes were in buckets of tears and all drowsy.
3. When Ronnie was looking behind her at the car, she must've also turned around, trying to see what caught Ronnie's eye for three seconds, and then realise God two seconds that she is going you get run over.
+raekstar1 Have you every heard of being so shocked and scared you freeze of fear and literally cannot bring yourself to move?
Same reason animals do - shock, panic, fear.
raekstar1 coz someone people are like that... i have had a similar encounter where some random guy pulled me aside from road
was inches away from an accident
your body freezes up
Crying over this in 2023 just as much as back in 2009 😢
Surely the Mitchells must have learnt by now that it's never safe to walk on the square when a Butcher is driving?
I remember being so grief struck when this happened. I wanted her and Ronnie to have a mother and daughter dynamic so bad when we found out Danielle was her daughter and waited fir months for her to tell the truth.
It's unbelievable that this one scene was the trigger of many important storylines and moments in EastEnders:
Firstly it was the preset of the Who Killed Archie storyline which led to Stacey murdering Archie and fleeing off whilst Ronnie suffered from PTSD as a result of Danielle's death. When pregnant with James, she miscarried and then kidnapped Tommy, Kat's baby as Ronnie was desperate for a child in the wake of losing Danielle.
Danielle's death also played a factor into Stacey developing bipolar disorder after witnessing her death and then as a result of her bipolar, led to her getting postpartum psychosis after giving birth to Arthur.
Even before Ronnie and Roxy's untimely death (the worst decision the show has ever taken), Danielle was still the subject many years after her death and when Ronnie drowned, her locket which belonged to Danielle fell from her body, signalling the true end of this storyline.
This one scene was constructed to have profound consequences for several characters in EastEnders and it developed very well.
4.5 years on. still makes me cry.
I still Cry at this!! I know its only acting but it still hits me.
WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CALL AN AMBULANCE? WHAT WERE THEY WAITING FOR??
ScottieGirl20 probably knew by looking at her she was dying and thought there was no point
Stephen oneill I know, but if the mother of the girl was screaming in my face to go call an ambulance, I wouldn't hang about!
ScottieGirl20 yeah suppose so
ScottieGirl20 If you mean Stacy then sorry but your wrong Stacy went to the vic to get help, it was Jannie who stood there uselessly ,but yet again she was so shocked by what she has done she couldn't do anything. (Jannie was still use less)
I remember Eastenders saying that Ronnie is their tragic heroine. I agree with them, if Danielle would've lived she wouldn't have been a broken woman anymore and it would have diminished her character and if she wouldn't have died we wouldn't have got this incredibly emotional and touching scene.
This Episode long time ago made everyone cry!!
OMG!!! I love this storyline so gripping and so powerful I love it so much. Great job to the person who wrote this :)
I miss danille
This is was so depressing when I first saw it... Such a moving tale...
I remember this like it was yesterday
UNFORGETTABLE
I remember watching this and falling to the ground crying, Danielle and Ronnie were my favourites and it completely killed me watching this
In all the years I've watched EastEnders this storyline with Ronnie and Danielle will always be my favourite incredible acting always makes me cry when I watch the clip back but it's just so sad that they had to kill her of Ronnie deserved happiness for once.
Killing Danielle off was the worst choice EastEnders ever made.
Best storyline Eastenders has ever done! 👏🏼
2:09 Danielle trying to say "mum" gets me in tears
I stopped watching Eastenders after this. I waited six months for those two to finally be reunited properly.
"She's dead"... Wow.. that gives me chills
I've seen this before but i still cried
Actually made me cry when I saw this episode good acting !
This storyline was tragic. I no longer watch EastEnders, but this was so heartbreaking, it still gets me now. I knew, from the first day she appeared on the square, that Danielle was Ronnie's long-lost daughter. Gah, the whole story was so sad.
The shift in Ronnie's facial expression from pure joy to seeing the car coming is awful to watch
Absolutely fabulous storyline with fantastic actors! ... I love Sam's portrayal of Ronnie! :)
I was 6yrs years old when this happened and I can still remember every bit of the scene as if it were yesterday it's so traumatising and tragic.😱
2009 was such a sad year....😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Nothing on television has ever touched me like this did was heartbroken for months after danielle died so wrong to make us wait so long for them to be together as mother and daughter and then take it away
Still such a sad scene to watch. Even ten years later.
Omg, EastEnders always gives me goosebumbs!
Poor Danielle - for once, here was someone not on Janine's hit list!
Most upsetting death on Eastenders :'(
Still makes me cry like a baby...
This broke my heart.
All those plans they would've had together
Ikr??wasted because of hatred
Who cried again like a bitch? I did
This was the best story line ever trust me
This episode puts me in tears
When she calls her “baby” 😢
I was really shocked that they killed off Danielle. After all of that build up & Ronnie finding out it ends like that! They just piled misery upon misery on Ronnie. Must've been such a draining character to play.
Beautiful scene best ever
one of the best scenes ever
I am not joking. Honestly. No word of a lie. When I watched this scene it really made a tear flow from my eye. One of the worst moments in EastEnders history. Losing someone when you barely spent time with them and then you stare death in the face. ;-(
now that...just sad bro😢😨😨
Ronnie is possibly the most tragic character in all of soap. She just was never allowed to be happy. Also, Samantha Womack is such a fiercely brilliant actress and so underrated. She needs to appear more in films and on TV!
Always makes me cry
I remember this I was So angry they killed Danielle off I phoned the BBC up straight after the show
Man said he phoned BBC up straight after.. i'm dying xD
divcrfc lol how sad were you. I hope you've grown up since.
Even after all these years, it still annoys me that she died :/ Then again it ain't Eastenders if no one dies xD
Poor Stacey she lost her best friend and husband within just a year 😥😢
Danielle wasn't stacey best friend
This is why I love Eastenders they build up immense tension, throw in a cliff hanger and then BAM! leave us with the unexpected!
My fav Christmas special ever !
