      Where did you hear that 507 has been sold? Unless you've heard that from an official source, I would take that with a grain of salt. Amtrak rebuilt the dash-8s a few years ago, so I doubt they'll be going anywhere for a while.

I recommend going there around the night time and afternoon because a lot of GE locomotives come by... also the best railfanning spots would have to be Bixby drive, Stimson ave, and Fullerton road off of Valley Blvd oh yeah almost forgot the best time to railfan would be around night would be 12 am and 6 am because it gets very busy over there at night and for noon would be around 4-6 PM... but yeah tell me what you think.

    Santa Fe 3751 is an interesting locomotive to me. If it existed anywhere else I really wouldn’t care for it but it was the large steam locomotive in my area and I have grown more fond of it because of that. It’s probably 3rd place on my list for the steam locomotive in restoration is due to return soon right behind 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley and 3801. I’ll definitely be seeing her when she’s back.

    Hi Mike; Thank you for the great look back and the story that goes with it. Watching the railfans crowding the open vestibule windows and the baggage card doors reminds me of the early 1960's in Ontario when the Upper Canada Railway Society sponsored many steam excursions behind CNR's Northern class 4-8-4's locomotives. I spent many days in those baggage cars. They always had a number of large tables which were full of fans' reel to reel tape decks recording the history. It is sad that no organization stepped up to the plate with a commitment to preserve/restore such power when the certifications expired. Nice work ! And thank you for sharing.

    From before, when they would run this steam locomotive. They used to have real Santa Fe silver coaches behind it, and of course Santa Fe diesel locomotives as well to help.
    But nowadays I don't know if Amtrak owns the steam locomotive, but I would see some Amtrak locomotives and a mix-up of other coaches behind-the-scene locomotive. And that's not right.
    I hope to see you real silver Santa Fe coaches, and BNSF locomotives behind the steam locomotive if they ever use it again.
    Because I really want to see Santa Fe tradition for the steam locomotive itself, and to give some real nostalgia for the entire train itself. And to have BNSF locomotives behind the steam locomotive, I won't mind on that.
    I just want to see a real nostalgic tradition of the Santa Fe to be used for the steam locomotive itself, along with the help of two or three BNSF locomotives

    • @CoasterFan2105
      @CoasterFan2105  Před 4 lety

    Awesome video, I can't wait to see her return to service in soon when she passes the boiler inspection, hopefully Richard Anderson doesn't get in the way for ruining our railroads, everybody just hates him including me! One con I have to admit was 8:57 when you said quiet zone, it just makes me mad to see people not realise that more cars are getting hit every year thanks to them, and yet they claim quiet zones are there to help them feel relaxed and peaceful, but when the horn sounds off, it damages their ears supposedly causing noise pollution, I totally doubt that! I really hope they start removing quiet zones soon to teach those people a lesson about railroad safety, if they don't like the horn, either they get used to it or simply move to a different area, but asking for quiet zones, oh ho no, don't get me started with those!
