- We built a fully mobile and off-grid recording studio in a Sprintervan! The live room is fully sound insulated and entirely isolated from the chassis of the van using sound deadening material. This van build turn out great and we are stoked to share it with y'all!

yesterday I also bought myself a $100 Gazebo / Pergola (200cm x 200cm) and placed it in my basement on a noise absorbing rug. I left the outside "walls" off and placed moving blankets on all five sides. Got myself a 10M led strip for the inside and some bass traps in the corners and foam on the inside off the blankets. Super easy set-up for recording with my D18 and singing at the same time straight into my iPhone using the Roland Go Pro mix. Call me cheap but I just love my little "tent" inside my basement. Nice and cozy. Love your channel man!!
Soundproof white vans are a nieche market but I know some people that may be interested

I need this for a youth program I’m trying to do.
I've been wanting to build a van but I want to bring my electric drum kit with me. Would that be possible if I sacrificed some space and was able to pack it away and set it up? I can set it up in less than five minutes so I don't think it would be much of a hassle but another problem I think I could run into is power to run a drum module .
When I thought about this idea, I wondered if there were cars that are already studios. Where do I buy one of these bad boys?

Okay, so you're playing a guitar through a 'cranked' Fender Frontman 15 watt solid state amp which you can hear from outside.
How are you going to deal with 100+ watt tube amplifiers and maybe drum kits if these fit?

How much does a build like this generally ballpark? I'm interested in this kind of venture myself.
not including labor cause I have no idea what they charge, the Mercedes passenger sprinter with the tall roof (which I believe this is) is about $65k before all the extra garbage charges they sneak in lol (that's brand new though)
as far as actual music equipment it's not much involved but idk what mic they used, etc, I'm just gonna go ahead & say on the low end for the mic, the cables, the converters, the acoustic treatment inside the booth if it's not super high quality then maybe $1200-$1500 at the bottom, but of course it could be a $5-$10k mic alone though so use your own idea what equipment you'd want.
swivel chairs are probably a few hundred tbh smh lol I imagine that's an option on the van itself. installing the desk & cabinets is more of a labor thing, materials could be pretty cheap. silent AC systems in studios cost 5-10, even 15-20 thousand but if I got it right they just have insulated fans which would be much cheaper, but still probably adds a decent lil chunk of money with installation.
now the "soundproof" cabin in the back, that's probably a decent chunk of change, seems like it's actually quality so that's likely more expensive than you'd think. under $1000 though materials.
big thing is the power. solar is expensive, idk how much exactly & by now ive forgotten his explanation of the power set up but that should be the most expensive part aside from the van itself.
seems like they put a lot of care & professionalism into their work so I'm sure the labor isnt cheap either. not doing real math here but intuition tells me a little over $100k.
if you were to do it yourself & maybe forego some of the extras or the appeasing aesthetics you could probably get away with 30-40k for the used van & $10k on the conversion would be plenty in the way of designing a functional recording studio in it.

hi. cool van! i am doing somehting similar in my ambulance :) could you give me some pointers please on your monitors setup please? i was thinking 12v amp into passive mini monitors to avoid using the inverter. I am struggling to find some decent mini passive monitors though. Would love if you could share some wisdom! Thank you!
Maan.. u r pure genius. Never thought of using a clean, car audio amp instead of a more power consuming studio amp.
.. just a real clean amp with no crossover built in

So, if a person is abducted and put in the back of the van...how do they get out?--That maglock looks like about 2000 lbs of force.--Most commercial doors have an exit button or crashbar that disables the maglock. I'm still trying to figure out why you used a maglock...extreme overkill for a van door. btw, that car battery is gonna offer like a minimum of 6hrs of charge on that maglock.---Saw a newscast about a soundproof van found at an airport...literally, could scream on the inside and right outside...nothing. Oh, and it had no door handles to exit either.
Just to keep it real: You do know how a lot of that lithium is obtained, right? Do those kids get to use the studio?
