Have you ever done double bunks? (two bunks on both sides with narrow(er) isle? fit two adults and two large kids but still have an open(er) plan? (intent is that people on the lower beds can seat on the bed and stand up in the isle (possibly have rear shower/toilet).

My biggest rule is have the car look normal when I run into a store. In other words, can I throw up a quick windshield sun shade and achieve that? Yes? Ok, good to go. (What that means is I need limo tint on all windows past or behind the drivers seat. Once the windshield sunshade is up it's really hard to see in the back. I'd really have to think hard on converting front seat to a table as it would look weird in many places. I could make it look like a custom work car, like make front passenger seat look like a work area, but then I'd get attention and I'm not inclined to go there. I don't need the front curtain with a sunshade, and it would attract attention in my settings. I keep my car clean regularly on my 4-6 week trips, too. Nothing dirty, nothing wild and crazy. No wild colors at all. I made custom sun shades with black on one side, silver bubble wrap on the other. The black is so not noticeable it's crazy.)

I absolutely get into the drivers seat in a very similar manner, but I usually put my pants on in the back. Flip flops are left at the pedals, and key fob is close to the ignition all the time so I can get outta dodge if I need. Limo tint on the back half is essential so it isn't clear I'm camping alone in the summer.

Omg. The look on my face just have been classic when you popped down the visor and revealed a hidden curtain! And that seat popping down was SLICK! If I thought my husband wouldn't flip out I'd remove my front seat and make him be a passenger in the back. I absolutely 💛 this "build".

Amazing. After nomading for almost two yrs in a 22 ft RV we met all kinds of nomad styles and I love seeing people's creativity. Nomading is just anothet lifestyle - not perfect but has definite upsides. Great vid!

Interesting build but there are huge drawbacks: Cost/time vs. what you gained. Plus it's top heavy and rollover prone (fatalities and total loss), and the added weight equals more cost on suspension and tire wear. I don't see the trade offs being worth the very minor added space. A futon in bed would have solved sleeping problems for a fraction of the cost/time.

2 years later and i just want to say you guys nailed it. I will agree fords are built round, mine has more curves than a mountain road in Italy so I had to get creative. With every video I watch I try to take something from them and as simple as it was your sink idea was genius, got one ordered already. My setup is different but Im set up to live in it 24/7/365 when I am ready, or when zombies attack and I need to bug out fast. I like the table design as we love to spend an evening with a box of wine and some cards. The ability to rotate the passenger seat is essential, this is my dogs bed. I like the vents on the window, something to work on. Anyhow, you guys look like youre having fun and if it brings you closer...enuff said.

One of the most enjoyable videos I’ve watched in a while. Ya got me sold (even though I was just checking these out cause I was following one on the highway ;-) Was practically “born” in a 60’s Kombi in Rhodesia (before it was Zimbabwe ) so somehow the honest advemtyre and “vibe” based attitude you share from sneaks right into my soul man. I just noticed the license plate, you're from WA State, western or eastern? It's been 8-years since I've been looking for an affordable, but somewhat reliable driving Westfalia. They are either too expensive here in WA, or beat up broken one. A good well kept one is as expensive or more than a used modern 2010+ model SUV or minivan. I am almost giving up on getting one.
