It helps to know going into it not to expect it to just be all action but a fun character driven romcom that happens to be based around one of DC's most iconic superheroes. Also if it weren't for this series then readers of the comics would have never gotten Doomsday and the now iconic "Death and Return of Superman" storyline, so good on Minty for mentioning that.

When discussing American TV shows it is very important to understand that here we refer to them as seasons, not series. That’s why we have season finale. Here in the states the series finale is the final episode of a TV show.

their marriage is exactly why the show got cancelled as the ratings did indeed plummet after that episode which was kinda sad because it was a good adaptation of the Superman mythos
The sexiest Lois was without a doubt Teri Hatcher. Dean Cain was a good clark kent but weak as superman. He did have great chemistry with Teri. Their chemistry made this show memorable
It’s on the dvd set interviews. The baby belong to the couple leading new krypton. Funny enough, according to the interviews for Smallville; Smallville was originally intended to be a 5 seasons long prequel to Lois and Clark. Using time travel shenanigans to restore Lax not knowing about Clark being Superman. The idea was than to go back to L&C, with a season 5. with them still taking care of the New K baby, now at school age of 5 or 6. Plans changed during the production of Smallville’s season 3b. When many of the cast and crew decided they wanted out of Smallville.
Weekend at Bernie's Terry Kisser was in it too. He was in Season 2 with Tempus, who tells Lois Clark's secret. One of the funniest lines in the show, "How dumb was she?"
The creators of Superman were actually going to have Lois find out that Clark Kent very early on in a story called "The K-Metal of Krypton", but the editors rejected this story and didn't want to change the status quo. (The titular "K-Metal" was essentially Kryptonite, years before Kryptonite was introduced to the public.) Because of this, Lois was supposed to be a great reporter but she looked stupid because she couldn't figure out that these two men in her life that looked identical were in fact the same man. They mocked this on Saturday Night Live when Terri Hatcher hosted. Terri would get confused when the cast members would put on or take off their glasses while talking to her, thinking the person with glasses was a different person that had somehow swapped places with the person she was just talking to.
This is one of those shows that has aged quite well, even not being perfect. I wouldn't mind if they did season 5 as a comic book, the same way they're doing for Burton's Batman 89 timeline. It would be fun. Dean and Teri did a fantastic job as Clark and Lois... and I dare to say that John Shea's version of Lex Luthor is my favourite version of the character in live-action form, because you see that he's Lex, but in season 1 he's not entirely obsessed with Superman, like it happens in most media portrayals, and that's a good thing, because it allows us to see him slowly going down the rabbit's hole that is his obsession with Lois in this version. And I also loved Lane Smith's Perry White (best version of Perry in my opinion). Regarding the outfit keep changing, I always attributed the changes to Clark's mom, who continued to sew his outfits (I mean, there's even one episode, where most of his outfits get destroyed, with the exception of one, and he says that his mom's going to kill him, xD), so, like the show's team, she was experimenting. xD
The original plan was to end the series with Lois and Clark getting married in the 6th season. But the producers insisted on keeping Lois and Clark lined up with the comics. I personally liked it when they got married. Change the Dynamics of the relationship but they're clashing personalities was still there. When they got near the end of the honeymoon phase of the relationship you started to wonder whether or not the marriage is going to last. The heartbreak when the earth doctor said they couldn't have children. The James Bond and I Love Lucy daydream segments was hysterical. There was so much more they could have done with the series and The clashing relationships of Lois and Clark.
Aside from Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder, Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher are my favorite Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Even though we only got four seasons, they are, for the most part, pretty great. I still watch the series on TUBI. Also, a big shout out to Eddie Jones and K Callan as they were really the best Johnathon and Martha Kent. Their chemistry as the elder Kents was just 😘
That was such an awesome show. Lane Smith is the definitive Perry White, Terry Hatcher was so hot, and I thought it was a good idea to keep Jonathan Kent alive.
Minty stick to facts. The comic writers decided to “Kill” Superman simply as a shock to get Sales. As they were asked. All you need to do to know this is watch The documentary on the character which I believe is titled “Look Up in the Sky: The Amazing Story of Superman”. Also you missed one Superman cameo. In the same episode that Jack Larson appeared. The episode ends with a scene of Lois and Clark dancing in their brownstone and she starts thinking about him aging slower and in the mirror she sees him dancing with her except he is the same and she is older. The older reflection of Lois is none other than Noel Neil, the 50’s second Lois and the overall 1st live action Lois Lane as she originated the role in the two Superman serials in the 40’s.
The comic writers WERE going to have the marriage but had to come up with something else because of the show. They had trouble thinking of a replacement, and one of the writers kept jokingly saying, "Let's just kill him." Eventually, they actually went with that when they couldn't think of anything better. Yes, it was to boost sales, but so was the planned wedding.
@@KasumiKenshirou Actually it wasn’t and if you watch the documentary I mentioned you will hear the writers talk about it. They were talking about killing Superman every so often long before the series was a thought. Yes the series delayed the Wedding but it had nothing to do with the death and resurrection of Superman.
@@matthewrosenthal753 They'd been joking about killing him for years but it was the gap they now had in the story due to having to cancel the wedding due to the series that they went ahead with killing him at that time.
@@JurassicRod The show hadn’t even launched yet. Sales were down and they were asked to do something with the character to get people to buy the comics. Let’s kill him came up in the discussion. And they decided to do it because it was left up to them. And it worked. The show or rather its plan only postponed the Wedding. It was a combination of wanting to boost sales, create interest, and show everyone why we needed Superman that made the decision for that story. But don’t take my word for watch the documentary and take their words for it.

I may have lived only 15 miles from it in Virginia, but never had any reason to go to or even near that building.
I love this show. It's a romantic comedy with a superhero, instead of the other way round. The same "with a superhero" formula can be applied to my favorite Marvel movies, like the first Captain America movie being a WWII film with a superhero. Great stuff all around.

I was an extra for the episode where Superboy saves a signer from a car, where you can see my foot climbing down a ladder as he saves her...
Oh wow. Perfect timing Minty. I'm currently rewatching this on DVD. Recorded every episode on VHS back in the 90s as they went to air. Hated it when the weather was bad and the TV reception would get messed up while recording
Not only did his mom make his costume, they tried a few different options -- one had leopard print! When they got to the blue suit and red briefs Ma Kent said, "Well, they're not going to be looking at your face," with embarrassed Clark saying "Mommmmmm!"
I have had the series on DVD for many years and I frequently revisit it. It's campy and nostalgic for me, more so than the Reeves films for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I love those films, but Lois & Clark gives a totally different kind of vibe. Almost like "comfortable" TV viewing with action.
Dean Cain was phenomenal as Superman/Clark Kent of 1990s. But, I also found I liked most his other films roles too. Teri Hatcher was a knockout those days. Their chemistry together was just wonderful

That who's asking Clark or superman line had me flipping out for months!!!
I enjoyed the show from time to time when I was a kid, but in the early 2000's I was working a 3rd shift job, and Lois and Clark was airing reruns every morning when I got home - that's when I watched it the most!
When discussing American TV shows it is very important to understand that here we refer to them as seasons, not series. That’s why we have season finale. Here in the states the series finale is the final episode of a TV show.
Definitely one of the best versions of these Characters. Both of the leads were fantastic and fun. The support actors great, overall well done and fun TV show.
Yes I Just Learned A New Word Today "Capeage"! Thanks Man. Lol 😆 Great Job Mr. Minty, Until Next Time!! Peace ✌️ Out!!
I didn’t know Clark was Superman
Them glasses 👓 really hid it well
@shanethelfall416 my super skills detect some sarcasm there !! 🤔
@@harveylee51Just a little bit
The slicked-back hair as Superman helps in this series, I guess.
"Perry the Platypus?"
As a fun of superman films and Smallville tv show 2001-2011 this was the second tv show in genre to superman first one was super boy 1988 - 1992 this was the jam 🤩 very week I Watched this every single week of this good 👍 show > Lois and Clark 1993-1997
their marriage is exactly why the show got cancelled as the ratings did indeed plummet after that episode which was kinda sad because it was a good adaptation of the Superman mythos
If I remember correctly the show had Clark and Lois get married before they did in the comics.
The sexiest Lois was without a doubt Teri Hatcher. Dean Cain was a good clark kent but weak as superman. He did have great chemistry with Teri. Their chemistry made this show memorable
This was a fun version of Superman. It's a shame we never got to see what happened to their cryptonian baby at the end of the show..
I'm on season 2
@@kylekullin2520 🤣🤣🤣
I remember something like "Now I'm wearing glasses. Now I'm not! Now I'm wearing glasses."
@@auldthymer yeah. He puts on glasses and says "I'm Clark Kent." (takes off glasses) "No. I'm Superman." LOL
"To actually meet the most galactically stupid woman who ever lived" - LOL Tempus was harsh!
Regarding the outfit keep changing, I always attributed the changes to Clark's mom, who continued to sew his outfits (I mean, there's even one episode, where most of his outfits get destroyed, with the exception of one, and he says that his mom's going to kill him, xD), so, like the show's team, she was experimenting. xD
I loved this show so much as a kid, I had a pair of lovebirds I named Lois and Clark lol
Good 90s tv show!!
I loved this show. I feel the casting and character portrayal for all of the main characters were perfect.
I started rewatching this on tubi. They have every episode. I used to watch them all new way back when.
I liked how Lois & Clark that Superman's parents were involved in his life and even Lois's parents were a little bit in the show.
This is my favorite version of Superman and Lois. Love the new word - capeage!
Huh,i hope someone got fired for that blunder😂
Loved this show! The casting was perfect for Superman, Lois, Perry White and Jimmy Olsen!
I loved the Superboy show and Lois and Clark. It sucks that Superboy had to end to get Lois and Clark going.
Wow, Kevin Sorbo nearly playing Superman as well as Hercules. Teenage me would have swooned so hard 😂
Sorbo also tried out for the part of Fox Mulder from The X-Files, before he landed the part of Hercules.
If he had gotten Superman he wouldn't have been Hercules. Both shows were on at the same time filming in different countries
Sad this show has been forgotten it was fun decent FX Dean Cain And Lovely Teri Hatcher ❤
I love the focus on Clark being the real identity and Superman “what he can do”. Since he was raised as Clark it seemed the most logical to me
In future episodes, you should do Smallville, Supernatural, Dexter, and Burn Notice.
THANK YOU!!! FINALLY LOIS AND CLARK!!
NOW WE JUST NEED .....
HERCULES AND XENA!!!! WHO'S WITH ME!?!??.... EVERYONE READING THIS NEEDS TO VOTE FOR HERCULES AND XENA!!?!??
I loved this show.. Waited every Sunday...pure magic..movies are 1 thing but watching their everyday fun lives was epic..👍👍❤️👍👍
I was 10 when this show debuted. I loved this version of Superman. All the cast was excellent and Dean Cain did a great job in showing the differences between Clark Kent and Superman. The only thing I didn't like was the ending in season 4. We should've gotten a proper and final season 5.
I loved that show. I was laying in bed watching a mini marathon of the show on Sep.11th on a lazy day off. The first tower had already collapsed by the time the channel I was watching switched to a news feed and I found out. Around the same time My mother finally got thru on the phone from Florida freaking out as she just knew I was at the Pentagon.
Best Perry White. Also my favourite Clark.
Fantastic show, with a perfect cast. Superman hasn't been fun since.
Minty I was pleasantly surprised that you decided to cover this one
Not my favorite Superman
But still a genuine charmer
I remember when this got syndicated on TNT. Lois & Clark, Babylon 5 and WCW: Monday Nitro made Monday's my favorite day of the week for a time.
FINALLY!!!!! my favourite series of all time! thx for making this video ❤🎉
I grew up watching this version of Superman. I had a crush on Dean Cain. Dean's version is underrated for so many years. I'm glad you did a video on this version.
I did watch Superboy growing up too.
I was born in 1980 so I was in my teens when this show came out in the 90s and I absolutely loved it.
I rewatched this recently and i loved it! great chemistry, stories and that pilot! lots of heart!
This is a show I will NEVER FORGET! And it has one of the best Lois, Clarck, Perry White and Superman fo all time!
oh I loved that show as a child, nothing but good memories of it .
I used to watch this with my mom as a kid It was one of my favorite betrayals that wasn't so far out there that it was just chewed up like everything else 👍👍
I loved this show. I remember when it was in syndication. It used to come on in the morning on TNT network. I think at some point it was TBS network. And I used to work overnight. So I would come home in the morning just as the show would come on. It was my morning routine to watch this show after a night's work. I loved this part of my routine. Sometimes they would have back to back episodes run for a stretch of time, it was great.
This was my favorite show as a kid! I would watch it with my grandma at her house! Dean Cain is still my favorite live action Superman, I know it’s crazy 😂
Please do a video on Smallville. Thank you! 👍😃
I loved Lois and Clark! It was a great comic book show.
Also, my foot is in an episode of the mentioned Superboy... It was after the show changed actors and moved to Orlando for filming.
Loved this show i was in my early 20s now just about 58 but still feeling the same way !
Not only did his mom make his costume, they tried a few different options -- one had leopard print!
When they got to the blue suit and red briefs Ma Kent said, "Well, they're not going to be looking at your face," with embarrassed Clark saying "Mommmmmm!"
Also in that scene one of tge costumes is actually a Captain America style costume
My mom loved this show
I have had the series on DVD for many years and I frequently revisit it.
I rediscovered hat the show had two Jimmy Olsens, totally forgot about it, I only remembered Justin Whalin.
This show was my introduction to superman at the young age of around 7 or 8 years old and because of it I am a massive superman fan to this day
Loved this show! Thanks for reviewing it. I had a super crush on Lois Lane in this show.
I absolutely loved Lois and Clark. It was my fave 90s show ever to watch on Sunday nights on ABC. I was totally bummed when the show got cancelled. Dean and Teri were so good, I enjoyed their chemistry on the show so much.
