    I have a Freedom bike & bought a Rambo trailer from Wired & they beat everyone else price. It connects to the rear rack through the hole on the back of the rack. I just finished towing a 110lbs of camping gear on the Erie Canal bike path. It held up great. The trailer is rated for 100 lbs towing on a bike. You can use it around the yard with you pulling it with 300 lbs in it

    The word you were searching for is knurling or knurled. They are grooves most times running parallel to the axis of the bolt that the knurled nut is screwed onto. It can be crosshatched with groves perpendicular to the first grooves added. It allows even more grip when done that way.

  • @DrRevKing
    @DrRevKing Před 11 měsíci +3

    The hole in the back rack is to attach a Rambo bike aluminum trailer cart (ie. deer cart, Go BAGS cart, and your Shotgun Toting Grandma or Mother-in-Law during an emergency). Note that you can hold up to 300 lb on the Rambo trailer. That weight should NOT necessarily be added to the total weight capacity of the wire freedom because remember you are PULLING the Rambo weight as a working PULL load.

    Change the tires to narrower tires and you can easily loss 1"-2" of seatheight or standover height.
    Change the seat to something without the spring mounted rails, that's another inch lower.

Be careful when turning you must go wide and slow. Try to start off slow and dont hit to much throttle until your up and moving smoothly. It’s a beast so fun i went to manhattan beach and then I met my cousin in Marina Del Rey for lunch at killer shrimp and road on some city streets along the marina to get there.

    These bikes are good but don’t take them off road on any steep climbs. My buddy and I have had a lot of issues with the bike shutting off on steep climbs. My buddy sent his bike back to them and the owner Steve was very nice and tried to solve the issue and gave us some settings to try. Those settings didn’t really help and it still shut off. What was happening is if it’s a long steep climb the hub motor heats up and to protect itself from burning up its shuts itself off. My buddy ended up finding the sweat spot to prevent the hub from getting to hot by changing C5 to 8 and C14 to 1 and taking a few breaks during the climb. So saying all that anyone that buys this bike for mountain biking don’t expect to much. If you want that type of performance than you’ll have to shell out $6,000 and buy one of the higher grade mountain bikes. For street use and flat fire roads the bike performs very well.

      Thats great info, I love the specs on this bike but was concerned how it would handle step off-road and rocky terrain and it looks like its just not up for that abuse. I live in Arizona and we have some hardcore rocky terrain out here. I did test ride the new Lectric xpeak and it was not that powerful on the motor 750/1300 peak and only 48volts but the bike can handle off-road trails better with the frame and motor does not seem that high strung. It did not overheat even when going over large boulder fields uphill for 15 min. Its a bummer however as the top speed of the wired is amazing.

  • @gutturf
    @gutturf Před 11 měsíci +1

    As far as the nut for the axle bolt trailer, there is an adapter made for recessed nuts to be able to attach a Burley trailer.
    First thing I did with the months-old Wired Cruiser when it arrived was remove the fenders. No need on the back if you have any kind of bag on the rack (and don't mind getting it dirty). The front would have done some good riding in rain or mud but the frame picks up most of the crud anyway since it's so broad. The front fender on this new model looks worthless.
    The only change I dislike is the different battery connection. I have another Wired on order (Freedom) and I chose Wired again to be able to have a spare battery when on trips with one bike, and now it will cost me another $800 to do this. Hopefully I will be able to swap out the connectors on one bike/battery or the other to make them compatible.
    As far as the height goes, I am 5'10" and even the cruiser is too tall for me since I have short legs and the bottom bracket is tall on these bikes. But when the seat is at its lowest position I don't get enough extension to pedal comfortably, though, so compensate by using a setback seatpost, which provides an extra inch of extension while keeping the seat the same height off the ground.

    I was looking at this bike before the improvements, now I’m really interested.
    Question do they make any provisions for a second battery like Ariel rider does? How thick is the lower tube where the battery goes? Looks potentially, a problem for a front end shimmy especially on the cruiser version. I have another brand of bike with step through it has a front end shimmy because of that, and it looks beefier than the Wired, and I wish I had got the non step through but I’m 63 😀 Also Wired needs to cut a better deal with a finance company, $2300 best is $200 and change a month, most companies offer 24 months financing making the payment under $100 a month.

    Thanks for another very informative video! I was hoping that you would show a close up of the battery and you did! Looks like the Reention brand (name usually molded into the top of the battery cradle) two pin recessed battery tray. That's good news as many companies use that system. Don't know about the 60V being compatible with other 52V and 48V systems, but my (very) limited knowledge of DC motors is that they are not super sensitive about the voltage. The controller though might be an issue. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences!

I have yet to find a universal one to work with a 4 inch fat tire. It is the only think keeping me from pulling the trigger on one. I need a front rack as I run a bike as a car replacement and am on an Aventon level with an aftermarket front rack. I can get a weeks worth of groceries for a family of 5 with just 1 trip and not sure i could here. alternative is an areal rider kepler, but I would prefer a wired.

    Great video on New e- bike and I think I might like the power of your Citizen model better. So, I'm just being into the e'bike scene and considering the Wired to use here in NC. But it seems cool to build my own since I like to tinker and know my toys very well to be able to work on and mod. How was the custom build and any advice to suggest on buy ready to use or custom build? Thanks in advance.

    Another enjoyable video. I am a little jealous of you testing out all these nice new E-bikes. Why not me? I Hope you also do a full review on Wired Cruiser model as well. I have the original Wicked Cruiser now called Wired Cruiser and love this E-bike. By far my favorite E-bike I have owned. (I will probably never own an E-bike with a bar on top again but appreciate the suspension that Wired Freedom offers) I am a previous owner of Aventon Aventure Step-Thru and Rad City Step-Thru. Road my brother in laws new Aventure 2 Step-Thru and really appreciated the new Torque Sensor upgrade. Would love Wired to consider this Torque sensor option in the future. I feel like the ride position on the Wired Ebikes are much better than the Aventon Aventure. Aventure felt a little cramped at the knees and my foot touched the front wheel fender occasionally while turning sharp when pedaling. Handle bar on Aventon Aventure fejt too close to me. After owning and riding Wired E-bike for several months now I prefer the taller BMX style handle bar. I am 63 years old. 5 foot 10 inches. 250 pounds with inseam about 32 inches. I hope this helps all potential E-bikers.

    I've owned electric stand-up scooters and only dual motor. I want a more enjoyable experience and am interested in purchasing my first ebike. I'd like an ebike that's comfortable, easy to work on, find parts for, and has a long range. I'm not so sure about a single motor ebike, however. I was looking at the Ariel X52 step through or thekr Grizzly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I just received my bike, but the packaging was damaged and had missing parts: the secondary small box with pedals, front axel, and whatever else should be inside was missing. The headset was also severely gouged. I was pretty bummed and I reached out to Wired and they said they'll ship out a replacement immediately. The box was ripped in several parts and there were no reinforced plastic strips around the box. I know they're trying their best to get the shipments delivered, but just make sure your bike is delivered intact and you have all the components. Can you tell me what accessories should be inside the small box so I know what to expect?

  • @michaelcappsthejedaianproj6119

    Good video, good and entertaining content.
    I am thinking of buying one of these. I'm going to need to sell my 1994 Ford Ranger Splash to afford it.
    But, you failed to address my biggest concern. I live in senior apartments in downtown Greenville SC. I am so lucky to live 2.5 blocks from Falls Park and the Great Swamp Rabbit Trail.
    My mother, father, sister, nephews and best friend and buried in a cemetery close to the northern end of the trail.
    It is about 14 miles to their resting places. A 28 mile round trip.
    I would most always use pedal assist. I would love to be able to bicycle up the trail and talk to my family and friend a lot of times. I really don't have anyone living to talk to..
    How far does this bicycle go just using pedal assist?
    I will be investing a lot of money for me, so far, this seems the best deal to meet all my wants.
    Thank you in advance for any answer

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  Před 5 měsíci

      This bike could do that 28mile round trip without pedaling at all, If you're going to pedal the whole time, you have more than enough range.😁

  • @EricLoeser
    @EricLoeser Před 11 měsíci +1

    First off. I like your channel. Now about the freedom. I got mine mid August. So I already had the upgrade battery and screen. Also the rack. My biggest complaints are that no matter what rear shock I put on the rear fender rubbed because it attached to the rack wish in turn attached to the rear swivel arms. Bad design. So I took off the fender. Made a sheet metal top and front for the rack now that's my fender. One more thing is the thin brake rotors. Can anyone suggest a better rotor replacement that fits. Other than some other little stuff I love the bike.

    • @davidconaway2830
      @davidconaway2830 Před 11 měsíci

      Eric, I had the same problem with one of the two bikes we purchased. What happened, (according to Wired customer service) is that the rack was smashed down a bit during shipping. While I could not see any evidence of shipping damage, I was able to "pull" the rack up enough to work well with plenty of clearance between the fender and tire. I had my wife sit on the bike while I quickly jerked up on the rear of the rack. It took several attempts but we finally got it. Sounds like you already came up with a good fix though. As for the rotors, They've proved to be pretty good at slowing down my 230 pounds while ripping down some fast, steep single track mountain bike trails. Sure I'll need brake pads soon if I keep riding like this. Enjoy the bike, it really is awesome.

    • @EricLoeser
      @EricLoeser Před 11 měsíci +1

      @@davidconaway2830 Thanks for the feedback. I'm 6'5 and 255. The bike stops okay. If you spin the wheels or look down at the rotor while riding you can see the warping. Just thin material. Plus you can hear the rotor rubbing the pads. Once again I appreciate the follow up. I'm pretty sure I will fine a solution. Also Steve the owner hasn't replaced my broken thumb controller yet. Had to epoxy that bracket together. Broke in shipping. Cya.

    Great Review - Thanks. Need some help. Tried to buy from the US but Wired wont ship to Australia. Do you know or find out who actually makes or sells the bike - I presume Chinese right? (Obviously this won't affect the US store as they don't sell in my country anyway) but you've convinced me the thing is legit a good bike.

    My question is about acceleration. These usual hub motors are around 85Nm torque. I have seen a review where the Freedom needs only 5sec to get to 20mph. This is pretty much the same acceleration as the best bikes with dual motors. How is this possible? How is the Freedome reaching the same acceleration with only one motor? Thank you!
